Would not be beyond Jez to being a little economical with the truth.....could mean that he is working on 2 deals, and 5 are already done :)

I would expect Ohara is all done, just waiting for him to return from his holidays end if this week I guess. Fielden on twitter was claiming we were looking at a striker, maybe that is one. The other could well be that Nigerian midfielder that broke to day?

I wonder if our first signing will be timed to coincide with the official release of the new shirt on Saturday 18th. It really would not surprise me if O'Hara is anounced on the Friday before...our Jez isn't one to miss a marketing opportunity and having streams of kids having O'Hara's name printed on their shirts in the club shop would be just like him.

O'Hara must be one and wish Craig Gardener was the other although I doubt that one with blooming Eck leaving, Maybe a goalkeeper: Kieren Westwood, Adam Federici or a left back: Stephen Warnock.

Maybe sorted for the weekend. Remember its only 3 weeks before they return to training and most new signings are in place by then so I suspect work is going on behind the scenes as we speak.

Jez' double deal: Pie and Chips. Twice.

  11. I can't remember where I read this, but I read that O'hara was not one of those two. I think it's a midfielder and a Goalkeeper.

Dont believe a word he says.

Am i still the only one who thinks we are short of a quality striker if were going to persist with 4-4-2? :/

I am with you, I think we need 4 good strikers if we are going to play 442. I think we need something different, either a big bloke or speed merchant.

We need another striker Ebanks-Blake quality who can step in if needed and chip in with goals, at the momet we dont have that, we have Keogh, The Hoff and Vokes who at the moment arent good enough

I honestly think ward is good enough for the 4th striker after performances at the end of the season. Were not going to get a top quality striker to sit on the bench unless it's one from abroad.

And I think we should definately play 4 4 1 1. It doesn't matter if it doesn't click straight away , we need both strikers involved and if/ when it clicks we should be very good.

I agree about Ward, as a 4th striker he is more than good enough, he proved that in games early on against Blues and Liverpool and then did so again towards the end of the season.

Im just worried that Trappatonni has been playing him left back for Ireland and Mick said he did an emergency job upfront for us, for me he is a striker that can do a job in an emergency at left back not the other way around and i think if we head into this next season with Ward being a left back before being a striker then Mick is only heaping critisism onto Ward unfairly.

I reckon one of the deals could well be a goalkeeper, but surely there's nothing to say that one of the deals we're working on is for a coveted defender and we don't want to let the 'cat out the bag' as it were. I recall we did the same with Steven Fletcher.

Were Stoke not in for Ba previously but didn't trust the medical reports about his dodgy knees?

Ward is a better striker than LB or LW, and played pretty decent the last 2 wins. I wonder how much a better striker he would have been at this stage, if he'd been played in this position regularly?

If Ward had played as a regular striker I don't think we would have been promoted in the first place.
