The most fitting thing that Steve could do now for Sir Jacks memory is to finish the stadium and evolve what Jack started.

The Steve Bull is really all that needs doing IMO, it would transform the general buzz. My mates son even asked why the Steve Bull stand is so far from the pitch at the game yesterday.

Id rather us establish in the premier league and form a great squad. Swanseas attendance yesterday against chelsea was just over 20k just saying

I don't think morgan came across too well yesterday. I got to the ground early to sign the book of remembrance and morgans car arrived outside the billy Wright. Quite a few fans had gathered round, some with autograph books etc and he just walked straight in. Not even a hello.

It must be difficult to follow in sir Jack's shadow, but there is no way sir jack would have behaved like that

    Don't get that TBH?

Ask yourself what Sir Jack would prefer, Wolves in the premier league with the same stadium or Wolves in the Championchip / Div 1 with a new stadium?

I agree that the Steve Bull needs re-developing but not as a tribute to Sir Jack, Sir Jack's tribute should be getting Wolves to the premier league, i.e. investment in quality players, as Sir Jack said, his greatest day was in 2003 when Wolves got promoted!

One thing at a time. We need promotion and to establish ourselves properly in the Premiership. Morgan should concentrate all financial firepower on making the first team squad as good as it possibly can be. The truth is we are still a long way off in doing this though much progress has been made. Another couple of really good signings this January would be a start.

    Morning Reans

I'm not sure how the new Steve Bull can be any nearer the pitch if you follow the line of the Stan Cullis other than moving the pitch even further over which takes it away from BW.

I agree that the Steve Bull is all that's required, we don't need a 50,000 seater with core support of say 25,000.

The worst legacy for SJH would be to present a half empty stadium to the outside world each week.

Sorry to have missed out yesterday, would have been one of those 'I was there' days

In fairness Mikic, I'm sure he had a huge agenda to meet yesterday with the tribute and all the SJH family and guests arriving for the occasion.

I've met him once and he was very nice to me.

You could also tell the genuine warmth and affection between Morgan and Sir Jack's friends and family yesterday.

I think everyone associated with the club deserve credit for the way in which they have handled this week's events. A classy effort, worthy of the Great Man himself.

Morning Waggy, I think there is every intention for it to be closer if it follows the line of the North Bank. I dont think the new Steve Bull will be arched, (not that I am an architect) it will be flush to the pitch hopefully like at WBA or Liverpool or Palace. The noise will increase by 30-40% in my opinion.

The problem is how it links to the "existing" South Bank. I am not sure if that is possible. Personally I think the South bank is fine as it is.

Agree. Just do the Steve bull. Link to south bank. This can be done.loads of other grounds have done this.
Chelsea have managed it four different stands.

In parallel push for the premq.

We need to finish the stadium before we reach the Premier League IMHO, because we'll more than likely need the capacity then. How are we gonna fit the crowds in with a stand shut/being rebuilt for a season/possibly longer? Should've been done when we were in the third tier when the capacity wasn't needed

I guess there'll never be a right time to do it now though

Steve bull to be built next with safe standing in the lower tier. That would be nice! Bin off the away supporters in the corner for good!

I know this is largely about image (on TV), but when we play I always think it sounds fairly atmosphereless as you look across the wide pitch with the Steve Bull stand acres from the pitch. I like watching games on TV when the general sound of the crowd can be heard all the time, when the stand is built bang up to the pitch people become more actively involved, shouting at opposition players etc. And when the roar ramps up it would come from 3 sides and sound great on TV. We can create great atmospheres, I just want that to come across to the watching world in a new (well new Steve Bull) hemmed in Molineux.

thanks to the club and all those who made it possible for us to pass on our respects to a very special man. it was a day which united 28000 people as one and molineux became a big family. I felt honoured to be part of it. Good bless you Sir Jack.

please move to the appropriate thread mutchy.

I was surprised it was only 28000 yesterday. I thought with the new stand, our capacity was 31,500. I didn't see 3500 empty seats. The place was rammed.

I think this is right, when we get up we need to spend every penny on top quality signings to push up and fans will complain when we spend money on the stadium and not players. I would like to see the Steve Bull stand demolished at the end of the season. This season was supposed to be a write off anyway.

We need it done when the team is consistently strong enough for prem. No sooner.

It's unfortunate it has been done this way , but it's the way it is

We don't need more capacity. 25,000 would be enough for us realistically without all the one ticket wanderers.

Wasn't north bank paid by our prem money? This time Morgan have to agree to loan and payments for new Steve bull I would of thought it would be ideal time due to cheap money plus low interest rates.
Wonder if they would go for a less elaborate ie cheaper design as it was going to cost over £20 mill a few years back and they always go over-budget like the new North bank did.

When they finally get round to do the South Bank......can they make one great big bowl with corners, single teir safe standing with a video screen.

Plenty of toilets, a bigger concourse, more exits, and free beer :)

Safe standing needs to be behind the goals.

We are in a real catch-22 for me. Build the new stand, don't invest in the team and don't go up so don't need the capacity. Don't build the new stand, invest in the team, maybe go up and then have to reduce the capacity just when we need it.

Solution is for SM to put his hand in his pocket ("it's what any Wolves fan would have done if he'd been lucky enough to be able to" as someone might have said)

steve morgan ay a wolves fan though.well he ay got gold and black blood,

  26. One other point on Morgan.... yes he's dropped some clangers in recent years but then (although not really the time to say it) so did SJH

We all crave success but, in truth, I think the most important thing is that we have a vibrant club which gives us memorable experiences and respects the heritage / homeliness of our club

Some of you would no doubt prefer a Sheikh etc but I think, given there's probably no Wulfrunian millionaires like SJH prepared to sink money into the club, I'm quite glad we have got Morgan

    Cue the fury.....

  27. Oh and yes a 15k all standing South Bank should now be an absolute priority

Thought the club did their very best yesterday. One small gripe - how much more could they have done with proper video screens? It was crying out for a video montage of highlights from Sir Jack's life and times. Pre-match and half-time entertainment is poor but screens could make it a far better experience

They can't get any more in that's why. There are plans to increase it to 30,000 on the next few years.

When the Steve Bull is done it should have a straight side with a windshield like the north bank/Billy wright side has.
There is no point trying to botch it to the south bank and have some weird different sized corner like at charlton

We were in the Goalpost beer garden when he drove past, he was stuck still in traffic for quite a while. My mate got the attention of the driver for ages but Steve didn't want to look (it could be that the driver didnt tell him in fairness), he eventually did look and got a wave and a wave back from my mate.

I turned away my natural reaction would still to be stick my fingers up at him but I thought Saturday of all days wasn't the time or place for that.

I imagine that perhaps Saturday simply wasn't that kind of day. There would have been huge desire and pressure amongst the Wolves hierarchy to make sure things were done right, and as well as possible, on Saturday. Steve Morgan held Sir Jack in high esteem, and his emotion during the centre circle gathering is plain to see.

It was indeed, and at one point if I'm not mistaken, he was being comforted by one of Sir Jack's family. He was clearly very upset as were we all.

Please do not have a pop at the guy, it's not fair.

But we didn't need the capacity when we were in the premier league last time. Even when the Northbank was only partially open there was plenty of games not sold out.

Steve Morgan has done Sir Jack proud. A fantastic send off and yes Steve was clearly affected by the occasion.

Things were most definately done right, very proud of my club, and a very fitting tribute for One of Our Own

Give it a chance, it is a long term vision.

When the Steve Bull is connected to the North Bank and closer to the pitch we will see the advantage.
