Class act tonight when he came on. Drove the midfield. Start him Nuno!
His best game for Wolves
That’s pass deserves its own thread.
absolutely brilliant - plays with real drive.
Would be good to see him from the start if mout needs a rest.
Incredible, just showed great composure when he came on which you very rarely see at his age.
He was superb. Showed so much confidence and assurance for someone so young. He's gonna be one hell of a player.
Absolutely wonderful. His turn and pass into the corner which eventually led to our first penalty. That sublime through ball to Costa. He ran past Winks twice with ease. Just brilliant.
Good news for England too.
Best he’s ever played for us.
Still can’t believe Helder missed the chance from that through-ball.
He was great tonight
he was excellent tonight, shame he wasn't on the pitch a bit sooner
Thrilling to have him.
Hope it is us that makes best use of him
Two major turning points (amongst others) being the disallowed goal and Helda Costa pushing that MGW pass wide.
Interesting by the way that we had two different penalty takers.
We’ve got ourselves a home grown gem. Best player out of the 22 second half.
Superb. We badly need somebody with mobility like that in central midfield, hence why I think there was something in the Kessie links.
Showed today that he deserves to get more game time. Made a real difference.
Lads got ability, but more importantly, hes got bottle. Took responsibility
He will be our Phil Foden, the way he waltzed past Winks in the 2nd half was sublime
Showed that Winks exactly what a young centre mid should do, no silly safe passes to boost his stats, super performance from him made a positive difference well done Morgan!
He was amazing when he came on. He looked Premier League class. His passing range looks excellent and his energy and drive brilliant. Has to start against Arsenal. I would still play Moutinho and Neves but would play Gibbs White just in front of them. A slight change in formation but I am sorry this kid simply has to start. An amazing performance.
Great, hopefully gets a shot vs Arsenal, albeit their midfield is strong.
With our wide forwards off the boil, I’d be tempted to try a 3-4-1-2 with Morgan in the attacking mid/no.10 role and Raul + 1 up top.
He was excellent and has a great mentor in Moutinho
He found pockets of space against a very good Tottenham midfield. Having said that he might find it hard to dislodge a fit Moutinho but he could definitely start ahead of Costa.
The lad certainly has talent, and he caused Spurs a lot of problems. Nuno does not make many changes unless he has to, but maybe MGW is worth unleashing.
Gibbs-White did superbly well, will be a star in the future for sure.
Up against tired legs he was able to show his quality, the sort that wouldn't have looked out of place in the opposition team tonight.
Not quite ready to be starter though.
Ran the show when he came on...
That could be a coming of age game for Gibbs White.... awesome
I'd start him against Huddersfield, Joao and Neves still for Arsenal.
Good player... Best prospect we've had in ages
Came on....looked great and gave us a real spark tonight. Pushing the other two for a starting berth if he keeps putting on a show like tonight off the bench again!
Outstanding. I'd still start neves and moutinho but having a game changer in cm to bring on is massive
Haven't seen a verdict thread but I only want to make one key point and it involves MGW. Fantastic appearance and certainly added an extra driving force in the middle.
However, I thought the key point was that it enabled Neves to get up the field more. He seemed to come out of Moutinho's shadow and he looked more like the Neves we knew from last season. Both Neves and MGW were putting those defence splitting passes through the middle that, and so typically Wolves, Jota would have loved to have run onto were it not for the fact he missed today's game.
It might open us up at the back, but going forward in the second half was almost reminiscent of some of the style and best displays from last season.
Okay he came on against tired legs but look at his quality and range of passing! Nothing to do with playing against tired legs! Pure bloody quality and one of our own! Start him against Arsenal!
Good situation for him to come on in too, 0-3 down nothing to lose, play with freedom.
I didn’t think it was only me that see’s Moutinho as a detriment to the ability of Neves.
Neves is our best player. Without question. We are nullifying him with the current partnership. I love Moutinho but it’s exactly like the Lampard/Gerrard situation for England. They’re too similar.
The positio. And legs MGW gives allows Neves to actually do what his best at. Our best player needs to be able to do that.
If not MGW, then Saiss. It may look good on paper but Neves needs to be the holding creative midfielder. We don’t need two of them no matter what name is on the back of the shirt.
He did well. Bonatini was excellent as well, played a vital role in both penalties.
I think it may mean that Moutinho should be subbed in the second half, with MGW or Swiss coming on. Perhaps against the weaker sides, he might not even start, but against teams like Spurs, having both of them (should) make us more solid.
He did excellent tonight and showed he can live with that quality of opposition. It is very different coming on at 3-0 down with nothing to lose against a team who are perhaps sitting back a little bit but he certainly took advantage and that pass to Costa was as good as anything Neves or Moutinho could produce. Whether he can do it from the start of a tight game is the next question in his development but he has answered every question so far. Huge, huge potential.
Sorry, I thought Bonatini was pretty awful. His lack of pace and ambling around sticks out like a sore thumb.
