I think there is a lack of modern day managers who learn their trade starting at the bottom and work their way up. Roy Keane is a good example, a fantastic player but he only got the sunderland job because he is Roy Keane. Ince only really had 2 seasons managing before getting a premier league job. Can anyone name me a manager in recent years who worked his way up the leagues before getting a good top flight job ? All managers make mistakes but the pressure most top flight managers are under now doesnt give them the time to learn from them.
