Charged with 2 counts of cheating the public revenue.
Harry and Willie next please
Indeed and I think something will happen to Arry over all this.
I think we should be careful in linking names to someone who has been charged, unless you have evidence you want to pass to the authorities.
In fact in sure Willie has already been charged and Harry has already been interviewed by the police in connection to this incident.
EDIT:- Wille McKay was found quilty in the Benjani transfer but cleared of any wrong doing in this case, Harry and Peter Storie are still under investigation though
Well considering that the names mentioned are under investigation and that is already in the public domain, I can't see how it could be a problem.
Ok just trying to say excercise caution as we can get carried away on this forum. I understand there is a lot of stuff out in the public domain but nobody has been convicted of anything. I believe 'arry and Willie M are part of the same investigation and they may have to answer difficult questions in the months to come.
I really hate things like this, this is a football fans forum fir gods sake not a courtroom
Your point is Kightly 4 England?
And who's based in Monaco....
When I saw Harry and Willie next, I thought that was a reference to the late Princess Diana's children..........
RedKnapp charged with same offence
Harry's been charged too....police must be reading this thread
It seems they are have enough evidence, cannot see how Redknapp can carry on at Spurs even if it is only to clear his name.
Probably his expensive legal team will more or less get him off and I am sure that Spurs will keep him on, knowing how bad football is these days!
Isn't it a bit weird though.....£40k isn't a lot in tax terms.
Don't they just negotiate and make them pay up to keep it out of court normally?
Why is this criminal and not civil?
Does somebody really want to get him under oath and make him open up his can of worms?
There are a number of reasons for the criminal law system:
- protecting society
- to act as a deterrent to other would-be perpetrators
- others which I can't remember cos it's too long since my undergraduate lectures (which were 4-6 on a tuesday evening and so i always left half way through to get home in time for Neighbours.. )
Criminal proceedings should be brought in a high profile case like this because of the number of people involved and who they are/were at the time of the alleged offences - it's a matter of public policy.
Could it be that just trying to conceal it they commit an offence as opposed to negotiating the amount that is known and discussed by both parties.
"Me Guv, I don't know wot yer talking about, I ain't received no money from any bugger." "Wots the world cummin too, making accusations like that. Do you know who I em?"
To also try and answer Blah's question
Tax evasion is a criminal attempt to avoid paying tax owed.
