live on bbc3 on sunday at 7pm for anyone who's interested
Interesting...it would be great if the BBC made it something of a regular feature to show a major European match on a sunday evening, even if its tucked away on BBC3. I'm sure it would be popular and stop the people moaning about football being on one of the main channels at peak time.
Used to enjoy the Italian footie that Channel 4 used to show on a Sunday a few years ago
This basically because of Beckham, so it's a bit cynical but overall in the scope of what BBC can afford, I think it's a good idea - as Chiswick mentions they should make a regular feature out of it for that time slot or Sunday afternoon, BBC3 is the perfect vehicle for it.
They need to get James Richardson in to present it! He was excellent on Football Italia. Would like to see Gab Marcotti doing the match analysis. If it were a regular thing I'd definitely watch it. If the BBC can afford to spank so much money on jonathon ross and top gear then they can afford to get regular serie A on tv.
Looking forward to it but I hope they don't have those stupid black bars vertically down the sides like the previous matches on BBC 3 (fair enough that was the African Nations Cup but still).
Great to see Italian football back on, even if it is only one game. Guy Mowbray and Mark Bright will be doing commentary. Please don't let that put you off.
If they had that Italian girl from last years C5 coverage presenting, Laura Esposto, then I think that could outweigh these two negatives!
Italian league one week, Spanish League the next..
We'd probably end up with Clare Balding.
Can't see Sky being willing to give that up.
You know what Mark Anthony said to sky "Sky, $$$$ em"..
If they do not show the Guadalajara derby on March 14 (2.00am BST), you should demand your licence fee back.
Mr Wolf, about the black bars... If you're watching on a Sky box, press 'services' on your remote, 'system setup', 'picture settings', then switch 'picture format' from 16/9 to 4/3. Ta-daaa. No more black bars. It's because some countries (quite a few actually!) haven't caught up with us in terms of filming footy in 16/9 widescreen. The UK broadcaster can either stretch the picture to fill, or keep the proper aspect ratio and put 'curtains' either side. Just remember to switch it back at the end of the game!
Sorry if this is the dullest post of the week/month/year...
and look at very fat players who make Rooney look slim
Anyone watching this? Is it me or is there a delay between the commentry and the picture?
Seems the commentary is coming through quicker than the picture.
Hoping for a draw here.
There was a proliferation of draws throughout the top leagues of europe this weekend. (FA Cup here)
So I had a go on serie A today backing the draw on all 8 games in a super duper hercules or something. About 220 bets at 5p a go cost me just over £12.
Got five up out of seven so far and TBH haven't got the remotest idea what it will pay, but six has to pay better than five.
Prob put the mockers on it by posting this but there you go.
It seems our Wayne isn't the only Keeper who has an attack of the jitters now and again. Dithered like a Child for the first goal.
it was a quality cross tbf, Maicon looks excellent.
Pato is trying but is having no luck, and Maldini is still playing well at 40, must be an amazing "medical" set up they have there. wonder how stringent the drugs tests are
Actually I take it back. Hennessey's the Referee tonight if that kit's anything to go by.
Wow, first game of football i've really enjoyed in a while.
Unlike in England, tests in Italy are conducted at every match on two randomly chosen players from each team.
He's just an absolute freak of nature.
It has nothing to do with stimulants, he's a true great in every sense of the word and this is enhanced by the way he is still playing at 40.
Sometimes, you have to appreciate that ever now and again someone is so breathtaking in their ability that they have the talent to keep going.
Maldini is one of those. Legend is a word used too often in football but it really applies to him, one of the greatest defenders to have ever played the game.
In his last derby, even the Inter fans realise. A banner unveiled just before kick off read.
'For 20 years you were our rival, but in life you've always been fair.'
Watched it through virgin but amended it anyway cheers. Any tips now on how to get the sound/picture delay sorted for next week
Not a bad game but for a derby it was quite tame imo.
She was amazing. Shame about having Chappers though...
Therw as one banner behind the goal which just read 'MERDE' in two foot high letters! Don't know what it was in relevance of, but it wouldn't last long over here!
