Scored for Blackpool away at Bolton today, seconds away from being the winner. Hopefully he can do us a favour next week against Ipswich! Personally, I strongly hope we don't give up on him and give him another chance to prove himself as he was superb last season and I really do believe there's a talented player within him.

I think the lad has barely been given a chance this season.

I agree. I've been saying all season to my brother. I can only think of one league game where he was played in the 'number 10' role and that was for about 30 minutes against Cardiff in August. Apart from that, he's barely had a chance and when they've came they've been on the wing.

Good on him. I think Blackpool are playing a few of our rivals so I hope he can keep it up. Didn't look anywhere near when he did play this season and I think he'll move on to make room, but good luck to him.

Agreed. I remember in Micks time we had the same kind of thing with Adam Hammil. Personally thought he had a lot to offer but clearly there was problems with player/manager.

Couple of times they went to the Bolton V Blackpool game on Sky I noticed Jacobs name mentioned and going on the few comments there were sounded as if he was having a good game.

With Price, who was also (amazingly!) left out in the cold for the first half of this season, KJ finally saw the light. Not so with Jacobs, who I think is also a very good player, and was not given a chance by KJ in his proper position (No 10). We didn't imagine how good he was last season -- he is a good player. He may need to be encouraged a bit more than some of the others, but I would be sad to see him leave Wolves. Somehow I feel the man management of Jacobs wasn't all it could have been.

We know little to nothing about about MJ. He was a standout player last season but so were the whole team and it was Lg 1. KJ has hardly put a foot wrong since he came here and if he saw something in MJ he would have played him. I think whatever division we are in next season KJ will bring in better players and the prospects for MJ look bleak imo.

A tendency to be late and lethargic in training .
Lateness is $$$$ poor but many great players didn't train well, however he isn't great .......yet??

You look at us going forward now and realise that he is not dynamic enough physically.

We'll sign a new 'number 10' in the Summer and he'll be gone.

Shame it's not worked out as he was a top player for us in L1.

He'd give us a different option though.

If next season we are flying at the top, teams will be more likely to come and park the bus our pacey attack might not be as effective with less space.

He's not good enough, some of you lot are still suffering from Doylitis.

He made Saville look like Emmanuel Petit at Blackpool away.

Agreed most posters want to provide the opportunity for youngsters, whilst signing better players for the first team, why "clog" the squad up with "fillers"?

Quite Rhos, McCarthy collected squad fillers like Bingo blotters, Kenny does appear to be more selective.

Looked pretty bang average in his few appearances this season, we can't be sentimental about players who 'did it' last year, different league, higher level & no room for squad fillers

"Hardly put a foot wrong". That's correct, "hardly". The foot he definitely put wrong was Price, who some of us had been calling for to be reinstated all season. Finally, when he was, he made a major impression in steadying our leaky defence of October/ November. I think the same about Jacobs -- a good player who this season was played -- when he was, which was rarely -- OUT OF POSITION. No wonder he didn't pull up any trees. KJ hasn't made many serious mistakes, and Price was one which he corrected, but Jacobs is one he didn't.

A bit optimistic to be thinking we'll be 'flying at the top' Sedgley - after all it's going to take a couple of seasons to overhaul Chelsea :D

Hello BSK, Price has proved to be a good recall to the team and as you say has steadied our defence. However can you see Jacobs coming in and improving on Sako, Dicko, Afobe and Henry ? Because I can't see another position for him on the pitch playing our current formation and game plan, which I wouldn't want to see KJ change.

Price went out on loan to get game sharp after his injury, don't think he have gone out if he wasn't injured.
MJ hasn't been injured just poor when picked.

  26. Jacobs is the master of his own destiny. Doing okay at Blackpool. Surprised Tony Daley didn't bulk him out. That's all he needs.

Yep, don't think you can blame a winger for letting in goals and if Rotherham had a better striker then Connor Sammon and Derbyshire they would have easlir scored. Missed 3/4 great chances because of poor finishing.

His Set piece delivery was outstanding and he was betting his man all night

If I also remember right Henry was getting flak just like Jacobs did earlier on in the season with his appearances. Now look, started in the best XL yesterday at Forest. If it's true he's late to training however, then fair play to KJ.

I heard a rumor that price was sent out on loan to get fit after getting injured in a car crash
But Wolves wanted it kept quiet

Don't know how it can be said he isn't good enough, how does anyone know?

    He hasn't had a chance.

If there was one question I would like to ask KJ it would be why hasn't Jacobs, unlike Henry, Saville , Evans etc been given a chance to show what he can do this season.

No, I don't think he would be my 1st choice at the moment, but I would like to see him on the bench AND GIVEN A CHANCE. There must have been 10 games in a row this season when Jackett benched him and never once gave him playing time. KJ's default option at the moment for a 60th minute sub is Edwards, often in the No10 role, which is Jacobs' best position. For me Edwards just runs around a lot but is so, so limited as a footballer. Given a show of confidence in him by our manager, I have little doubt MJ could become once more the player of last season, who scored goals and was always creative on the ball.

It so $$$$es me off to read on this thread that he "should be moved on", he's "a squad filler", "not good enough". As some of us have said time and time again HE HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED IN HIS PROPER POSITION. Exactly the same kind of negativity was directed at Price and Henry earlier this season when they were out of favour with KJ. KJ had a rethink, and now all the doubters think they are wonderful! Same treatment for Jacobs please, KJ!

Hopefully he will keep doing well for Blackpool and come back ready to try and do well here. He certainly is a talented player.
