Is that a serious question? I'm assuming not, as every man and his dog knows it is Dave Kitson

I'm surprised Robbie Keane is reported to have been caught by McIndoe. My understanding is that his wife is a trained economist. Mind you given the record of some economists in Ireland in recent times, perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised.

Yeah, apparently the Secret Footballer is Dave Kitson.

Being following this McIndoe story though, baffling stuff...

I had heard that Kitson was rumoured to be the secret footballer but it isn't a certainty is it?

It's not official, but his second book may as well of had his picture on the front cover. Very thinly veiled digs at Pulis and Portsmouth.

Didn't some Danish reporter catch him out in an interview with a question about visiting Denmark?

I'm still not 100% sure it's him though given some of the stuff he's mentioned doesn't add up with it being Kitson.

It is Kitson, another thing he says in the second book was he was on the verge of an England call up under Capello, but didn't get selected because of something which happened off the field. It was widely reported at the time that Kitson was convicted for drink driving and that Capello didn't select him because of it

The secret footballer who slated our support stating that you only have to keep us quiet at Molineux for 20 minutes and we turn on our own team? The secret footballer who is quoted as gospel by those who fancy a dig at our own fans? The secret footballer who has only ever played at Molineux 3 times in his entire career, won 1 lost 1 and drawn 1, conclusive proof of his theory or just repeating $$$$$$$$ enough times it becomes truth?

In a more recent article, one about Utd, he says he'd leave Welbeck for dead, was Kitson even known for being quick?

I think it's probably ghost written to provide a consistent style based on the inputs of a few different players.

I was scammed by someone recommended by a bloke in my office who was already on the hook.Luckily I smelt a rat after the first transaction and then warned my colleague to wake up (which was mightily hard). He had already pumped in well over usd50k and was completely in denial the idiot. But I saved his retirement thankfully.

Peer group pressure is powerful. That $$$$ McIndoe was preying on rich people but there's plenty fleecing the likes of yous and me also.

I work in the high risk un-regulated investment market and I get eyebrows raised when I present products that offer 15% returns per annum, the figures quoted are just plain ridiculous and more fool them, like I say greedy morons, with more money than sense.

All this tends to highlight is just how much quite average footballers get paid and how greedy some are as well.

Nothing wrong with saving and investing but did none of these people do decent background checks and make enquires into the scheme before handing over vast sums?

Blah blah... former England Under 21 striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, now at Preston, was one player in the 2011-12 Wolves team who invested in McIndoe’s scheme. So was current Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, and Republic of Ireland forward Andy Keogh, now playing in Australia. Midfielder Karl Henry, now at QPR, and striker Steven Fletcher, now at Sunderland, are also believed to have lost money.

...former West Ham forward Freddy Eastwood. His name also appears in paperwork and he is believed to have lost at least £600,000, at a time when he was earning £11,000 a week, or £572,000 a year. He declined to comment.

...former West Brom striker Lee Hughes, now at Kidderminster, lost £250,000 sources say. He could not be reached.

    LOL at the last one.

Interesting read .. Directly affected teams where majority of players had invested and lost money .. £1m of which from a wolves player consortium

Michael McIndoe's £30m fraud saw Gabby Agbonlahor among his victims

    2011-2012 Slump Down To McIndoe

This thoughtful and well-researched article strongly implies that the inexplicable and long lasting slumps at Wolves and Coventry (and, to a lesser extent, Villa) can be explained by players losing their motivation after having discovered that they'd been conned for large sums of money by Michael McIndoe.

As far as I'm concerned, the story fits the facts very well indeed. Our players DID suffer a horrific loss of motivation - and this would explain it perfectly.

When the demotivated players went, we enjoyed a record-breaking season (even if it was in L1).

    Link.

Without doubt it must have had an impact and perhaps without all the problems that $$$$$$$ caused, we may have picked up enough points.

Thanks. I think it's even bigger than that - I think we now have to rethink our entire understanding of the last five years. It wasn't just Thick Mick picking players in the wrong position - there was a big underlying problem that not enough people were aware of.
