'there's only one Neil Collins!' ;)

  2. Life goes on, Collins gets a more regular role now unless we go in for another CB

For those who were asking about Schackell coming back it could well be the first name on the team sheet for tomorrow.

Hope Mick has his sights on another CH the Orient lad, perhaps?

We all knew he wasn't going to be here forever, but on reading between the lines they may only want him for the FA Cup, you never know he may be back!

Bugger. Hopefully we can bring in a bit of experience in to replace him. I`d like to see an intimidating defender signed up.

Keep the faith. Chelsea doesn't want him cup tied. That's all.

Hope fully he will be back and hopefully Chelski get dumped off the cup :)

Mancienne wasn't eligible for tomorrow anyway, they didn't want him cup-tied.
At least Chelsea have called him back early so we know where we stand and have time to sort out other options.

Reading the official site, looks like it is all to do with injuries and suspensions. Chance he could be back with us I reckon.

Loan deal on the 25th Jan for the rest of the season.

Hopefully when their centre halves returns from injury/suspension he'll be on his way back to us.

Just seen a suggestion on another website, admittedly in jest, that we should sign Kilgallon - what would he say on signing???

  11. Bad news, but we have other players in there who can do a job for this season.
Sometimes i really don't understand the way football works behind the scenes though. They allow us to extend his contract by a month and then one game later call him back! I firmly believe we'll be signing another centre back now, whether it be a loan deal or permanent deal remains to be seen.

Not the end of the world but disappointing none the less. However he won't be off to another Prem club in Jan due to the "can only play for 2 clubs in a season" rule, so that means if he plays tomorrow then he could only go back on loan to us really.*

*This is an assumption, not fact!

Its a blow no doubt about it and just hope we can get him back fast. Collins and Shackell can do a job for us but I still have vague hopes we will bid high for Mancienne at the end of the season if we get promoted. He is precisely th type of player we will need in the Prem. Hopefully Chelsea will go shopping at Harrods for defenders.

I thought the 3 club rule was for permanent deals only

Bit of a bummer......but why sign Shackell if he ain't going to get a chance.....

central midfield is the area we need to strengthen....someone with a bit of creativity to feed the wingers and eye for goal........Jason Koumas would do for me.....don't know what the situation is at Wigan ?????

  16. As an aside - has anyone ever seen him smile? He always looks completely straight faced and unemotional to me.

And OK before one of you jumps, I agree it doesn't make him a bad footballer ;)

I thought so too for a while but the new football manager disagrees :D

Can't find anything on google to confirm.

Permanent deals and season long loans which get terminated early.

Emergency loans (as all outside the transfer window by Football League clubs are classed) don't count.

All reports show Wolve still hoping to bring MM back once the injury crisis at Chelsea has abated.

    One worry is this.

Recent reports have shown, Abramovic had to go cap in hand to the Russian government for an emergency loan.
Scolari, has been told sell before he can buy.

    This will mean,

Mancienne will be sold to a premier club
Mancienne will be kept by Chelsea. And other players will be sold.

In all honesty Premier clubs will be in for Mancienne, the only thing that could save us is a lot of clubs are having to sell.

This may pave the way for us to try and do a deal.

Either way this transfer window, and the summer will be interesting.

I don't think he's good enough for anyone outside the bottom six sides or so at the moment, and even then they'd be taking a massive risk by signing him. The little mistakes that he makes in every game will be punished at that level.

    Not a bad analysis, DW.

There is no way Moyes was watching him!

Moyes has no money, and is desperate for a Centre Forward.

He may move for him if he gets 12M for Arteta.

I have just read a quote on Newsnow whereS colari has said he will be staying at Chelsea for the remainder of the season and won't be going anywhere on loan.

Forgot about old Jody Craddock. His experience could prove very beneficial in the run in.

I hope he never plays for us again. Nothing personal, nice bloke, but at least a year (probably 2-3) too far for him.

Agreed. No one underestimate Craddock. He was our best centre-back in the last two seasons. Although both slightly light-weight, I wouldnt be displeased with Stearman and Craddock as the new partnership. And of course, Shackwell deserves an opportunity to stake his claim.

Like a world's tallest dwarf competition.

One full game played this season, two goals conceded, both his fault.

Too slow, not as good in the air as any of our other centre halves, dreadful on the ball. Fourth choice is a spot too high for him.

Bad news for us. Other than Stearman, we don't have another centre half close to the quality of Mancienne. Collins is error prone and slow on the turn, Shackhill's not really shown enough as yet and Craddock is an utter liability.

For Blues and Reading this is a major boost to their chances of catching us.

Remind me again of the results when Mancienne hasn't played while he's been at the club?

Bloody hell,I know he hasn't played much but can't people get our players' names right? Two posters have called him Shackwell and Shackhill. I suppose its 'Moxley's'fault.:(

You already know no doubt, so for the benefits of others

Mancienne has missed 3 games in his time with us.

    Blackpool W 2-0
    Sheff Utd W 3-1
    Doncaster W 1-0

He came off the bench v Swansea (h) & Sheff Utd (h)

    To balance it out

    He has started 8 games. W 5 D 2 L 1 Conceded = 6

I personally think Shackell and Stearman will be more than good enough together, I'd play them at CB tomorrow.

He's decent ball player, he's not quick but he's certainly noy too slow. He's our captain, almost all Wolves fans expected him to be sorely missed this season.

Could you please take a look at this:

    [ame="http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Dn-e6wpcW74"]YouTube - 09/08/2008 Plymouth v Wolves[/ame]

and tell me exactly how he was to blame for either goal.
