So we made a profit, we have no bomb squad. We still need squad strengthening and loans are available. Rather than seemingly give up like many who are talking abut the summer there is still the rest of the season to go. So come on Wolves get your fingers out of your arses and strengthen.

Probably waiting until the 93(?) days covers through to the play off final just in case. Or at least I hope that's what we are doing.

You may be right but we need to make sure we make the play off first!

Kevin Nolan getting a bit of stick on the BBC today as not being up to it at Prem level any more. He'd be a good short term option as a number 10 on loan

If they don't it sends a massive signal of unintent.

    He's not a number 10, at all.

    For me he's far deeper.

Hello Powers that be at Wolves.
We can actually use the loan market you know!
We need more than two strikers in our squad and another attacking midfield player.
Is this too much to ask?!
Please don't keep saying the squad is good enough as the fans aren't stupid!

Wouldn't be an improvement on Sako and Parra.. It's a quality central midfielder we need.

If you agree with me JOS that they don't want to go up this season you should surely realise we won't loan players now unless we get a few injuries.

The manager has the money but doesn't want to invest it.

I will be amazed if the club pull their finger out. The Norwich defeat showed how few options we have off the bench in attack. Its blindingly obvious we need at the very least another No.10/alternative striker on loan. I would try for Nick Powell but the sense you have had all season is one of timidity and complacency. We look like a club happy to coast in mid table whatever the rhetoric. Take Sako away in the summer and we will look even weaker. The only hope now is for a run of four or five wins in a row. That won't happen without some reinforcement imv. So while you always hope for a miracle the truth is that the Norwich defeat probably marks the end of any realistic hopes of promotion.

He's played off the striker for most of his career.

Really don't expect much from this loan window. Think we will only do something if we get an injury. Manager and owner are happy with what they have got.

  15. With the money we get from Real Madrid for Stearman we'll get all three. In all seriousness, when you are playing two holding central midfielders you expect the wide players to deliver. They haven't today. I still think a quality central defender is needed ( if he doesn't rate Hause or Iorfa good enough to play in there ). If our defence is good then maybe you can have a creative midfielder in there with Price or Mac.

I said back in November we should try to sign him as I thought he is just the sort of experienced midfielder this team desperately needs.

What little pace he had, has evaporated further, but would be a great addition to the current squad.

I know. Not saying he would come here, or Wolves can afford it- just that he would add to the team on many levels. Ho hum.

Stated on a previous thread that they won't consider a loan until we're within the 93 days of the play-off final and then will only consider it if we have a "realistic" chance of reaching them. So don't hold your breath.

Shown a total lack of ambition since winning league 3 last May, be interesting to see if this is reflected in early bird sales.

In my opinion nothing will change in the summer there will be minimum transfer activity and the line of "developing from within" will be re-cycled.

Nolan would be a great signing. Just what we need. Experienced and a leader. Would definitely make a big difference. He has averaged around 10 goals a season in the premier league for West Ham and Newcastle. No chance of it happening though as Big Sam absolutely loves him.

Maybe West Ham would pay most of his wages; it happens with other loan players on big salaries

Maybe, but his lack of pace prohibits that now, which is perhaps not as clear as I thought I had made it.

Think you may be on to something!:D

Not looking forward to the summer when the same predictable "clappers" role out the same old clichés about pant-wetters and "get a grip we're only in June, then July, then August" and then seamlessly move to "no need to panic better players become available in the loan window" they then seamlessly move to January with the same mantra, sound familiar?

Am I right though that if we had brought in loans before the window closed that the 93 day rule is not in operation?

Loans during the window - then yes 93 day rule does not apply, shame we didn't show a little more ambition in January.

Exactly. A clue to how the club view things overall, and what will happen in this loan window...

It appears the hierarchy's 'ambition' was to get back into The Championship, and then to stay there in their comfort zone.

The Premiership must have scared the pants out of them.

    Another striker ?
Best line up is with one striker and Kenny eill have to make a decision as to who starts, so not sure having three for one place is realistic.

The bit often missed is how hard it is to sign players. This isn't champ manager. The jan window was the quietest I've ever seen, nobody is selling, value is limited and I'm not sure why some assume wolverhampton wanderers is beyond or above this.
