Everywhere you look or listen-be it TV,Radio,Press or Message Boards we keep hearing that Blues and Reading have the best squads in this division. We also keep hearing that they will both overhaul us to clinch automatic promotion. The facts of the matter are they are 6 and 13 points behind respectively. If it was role reversal would they show the same empathy towards us if WE were in 3rd place?
They base their theories on the fact that we have cocked up before, but this is a different set of players in different circumstances. You can only beat what is in front of you ,and to date we have made a damn good fist of it. If it means we stay under the radar until the end of the season ,let them carry on with their anti Gold and Black views.

I agree, the longer we stay under radar the better! Yes we're top but I haven't heard a manager say this team will go up automatically, they've all said they'll be there around the end of season. We haven't got the pressure of needing and expecting to go straight back up and think it has shown in our performances so far this season

    I wouldn't bother myself.
Anyone can back newly relegated clubs with pots of money to spend. These are the same experts who said the baggies would cope better in the prem than the other promoted clubs. Like politicians you rarely get an apology or admission of an error:D

Both on Sky's Big League W/e, Scott Minto and on Sky's match preview, Peter Begrie said that Wolves to win league plus Blues/Reading for 2nd.
Can't talk for other media but Sky and friends I correspond with all think Wolves are certs this time.
It is us, the Wolves fans who, if anyone, has the doubts - but I'm starting to feel slightly confident!

All we need to do is keep on getting the results to shut them up

I have no doubt we will win it...

Blues have a strong forward line in depth as do we.
our difference is we have a stronger midfield and keepers on the bench

There have been several managers on 'Big Week End 'who have only said Wolves will be there or thereabouts. Who else having won 15 out of 19(before today) would keep getting such 'negativity' ?I agree it ain't over until the fat lady sings, and there are so many things that can go wrong, but I keep thinking there is a degree of anti Wolves bias/jealousy ,only too ready to snigger/wet themselves if we fail.

If we can hold onto/build on our lead until January, then we can strengthen further and leave no doubt of our intentions. After about 10 games I thought we'd drop away from the top 2 and just be strong play-off contenders, but now I'm starting to feel more like we can go the whole season competing at the top. The last 35 minutes today certainly showed we've got some strength in depth to match (if not better) Reading & Blues.

Let them keep telling themselves that the wheels will fall off again - just because they have ONCE previously. We beat Real Madrid once, doesn't mean we will again :)

We'll just keep going about our business and picking up points.

In all honesty I must say I think Birmingham do have the best squad in the division. Especially up front. We aren't quite as strong to be able to replace somebody like Phillips with equal quality in Jerome. I think or first two are excellent, and I rate Keogh and Vokes but they are not in the same league of replacements as O'Connor, Jerome, Quincy...

I know who's position I'd rather be in at the moment though ;)

I agree about upfront, I'd like to see one more really good striker come in January.

By the same token, they don't have the same riches that we have in the goalkeeping department, and I'd take Collins and Shackell over their first choice centre halves.

    One GOOD player!:D

He did hit a hat-trick yesterday but I'm not a fan of his. What do I know though, I thaught Mancienne was decidely average when I watched him at QPR.

Interesting watching the Swansea/Cardiff game commentators were going on about both these sides trying for po places - I think they're 6th and 7th in league! So those who see alot of Championship football must already see the top 4 or 5 fighting out for auto places and boy do we have a head-start!
