Small piece in The Sun (yes, I know) that us and West Brom want to take him on loan, and that he may be available permanently for £300,000 as his contract runs out in the summer.

Wouldn't say no to be honest.

2 potential issues: Wages and attitude.

Ability wise,I'd take him in a flash - especially for that money.

I think he'd do an outstanding job of bringing albion down. Let him go there on loan.

I doubt Reading would sell him to us more likely to stay at Norwich

I know they've got Doyle but why can't he get in Readings side?

Rumours abound that he got to big for his boots and Coppell didn't like him.

Apparently Coppell was less than impressed when Lita filmed himself having a good time with a ladyfriend, and then showed it to the rest of the squad.

Not really a MM player. Not really a player content to sit on the bench for a Championship club. We don't need sulks in this squad thank you very much.

Undoubtedly a good player but I reckon his attitude sucks & I don't want to see what's obviously a very together & harmonious team get disturbed by such as him.

Totally agree with this. At that price, they must be desparate to offload him. Now is not the time for us to take a risk on someone who might start upsetting things!!!

Only a vague rumour of course but if there is any truth in it take him on loan and find out what he is like. He can certainly play and at around 300k a real bargain as long as he can show he has the right temperament. If we were in the Prem I don't see why he wouldn't be happy fighting for a place and very good sub for SEB imv.

It would certainly free up cash to strengthen other positions - of which we will need plenty if we go up. I would like to see a big bid for Bendtner too this summer if we did manage to get up. His first team prospects will look thin next year. Forward strength will be a key to survival in the Prem. Look how the Baggies have suffered by failing to get quality up front.

We signed a player with attitude in Eastwood and thankfully got shot of him.I was also relieved that we ignored calls to sign Clinton Morrison. I class Lita in the same bracket as them and we should avoid at all costs. One bad egg could soon ruin all the positives we have in the squad at present!

  20. Not good enough to hack it at the highest level, which is where we want to be, so no. We have SEB, Iwelumo, Vokes, Keogh & Ward for this season. I believe they're good enough to get us out of this division. If/when we go up, we'll need a better striker then Lita.

I'd take him on loan like a shot, and play him alongside SEB ahead of Iwelumo, who doesn't have enough movement for my taste. How many was it he scored for Norwich against us? 3 as I recall. Get him in!

  22. I'd sign him at that price.

  23. looked a good player in the prem and scored some goals there.....but MM's game is all about attitude could have the 'Asprilla effect' on us...............

Had one really good season in the championship but hasn't really kicked on. Notable that none of the promoted sides thought he was worthy of a punt when it was clear that Reading weren't interested. Albion are desperate and a championship side in all but name so their reported interest doesn't count.

£300k and has something our strikers lack - pace to burn. He doesn't have a half bad scoring record and that price would provide excellent cover.

one of the most important aspects needed in the Greed League (not to say that is where we are going) is pace plus the ability to put the ball in the onion bag..

We once went through a stage of trying to sign players who played one good game against us...it doesn't work. The Tony Dinning's of this world et al.

Iwelumo has plenty of movement, normally when he's running in to smash the ball in the net, or winning header after header to keep us playing, or holding the ball up and bringing wingers into play.....he gives us the intelligence, height and lateral movement that Lita doesn't have and never will have. You won't find many 6'5" players better than Iwelumo.

Lita's a kick and rush footballer, sussed out within 10 matches in the Prem and Reading have been trying to offload him ever since.
The only plus is his searing pace...negate that and he's not a footballer. You need more than that surely?

Excellent post. He's scored 6 in 17 games this season, 3 of which came in one game. That's less than Kightly. Iwelumo has scored 13 in in 17 games. And the Baggies are expecting this guy to keep them in the Premier League? IMO, they're welcome to him.

Should we sign Leroy Lita, we would remember him the way Newcastle fans remember Tina Asprilla.

    Please go to Albion.

If we're gonna sign him it should be for a positive reason (he can add to our squad) rather than a negative one (we don't want someone else to have him). Much as I think Kevin Cooper was a good player, his signing proved incredibly divisive in the long run because everyone knew we'd only signed him to stop Albion having him.
