Didn't realize until I read this article on Newsnow Wolves.

Seems to have some sort of attitude problem? What's everyone think? He started the season well then faded or dropped should I say. Last season when the same happened he said he wanted to go out on loan never occurred. Couple of weeks back there was some sort of social media issue if I remember?

Sounds like a bad egg when things aren't going his way! Rather get rid

Just wanted to see what everyone else has to say about him really. Worth keeping?

I hope we keep him, centre mid is perilously short on numbers as is and think he has potential. He was good earlier in the season

It may not be him but the club. If we were to (God forfend!) not make it up this year then we'd have space to continue in persevering with him at Championship level but if we did make it to the PL then I don't think he'd warrant a place in a 25 man squad that could survive there and kick on. Just my opinion, not a criticism of the player or the club.

He's a player who hasn't kicked on. His opinion of himself is too high.

Contracted until June 2017, with the option of a further year.

I was worried then. I mean who would we get the model the kit in the catalogue if we released him.

How anyone would be happy losing him I don't understand. Sheer madness. He is a bloody good young player, only 20. Attitude problem, smatitude problem, he is one of our best young players for goodness sake! He was fantastic earlier this season and has plenty of time to pick up from that. Honestly I do wonder at the sanity of somee people here.

He hasn't got a attitude problem. Heard it from sombody inside the club. He just want a to play really badly. Always does extra training etc. Just gets frustrated not playing. That's what I want to see from players.

As the squad is currently constructed, it's going to continue to be a battle between Evans and Price for the slot next to MacDonald for the forseeable future. Saville is out on loan, and I'm not sure if he was expected to slot in beside MacDonald OR in place of KMac? Ditto Rowe, although Rowe seems to be the "flexible friend" with abilities to play wing or fullback in a pinch (when healthy, which hasn't been this season). But there's no need to give up on Evans regardless, he is a young player who has shown extended glimpses of real talent, and that could come good at any time in the next couple of seasons.

For an example of a player who seemed surplus to requirements in his position, one only needs to look back at Price's situation only a few short months ago. Football is a funny game ... you never know when your chance is going to come, and you never know when the penny might finally drop. With the short numbers available in central midfield at Wolves, Evans may only be a rolled ankle away from returning to a prominent role in the final run-in for potential promotion.

Good to see he's on a long contract so we can recoup the £50k we paid for him. Hopefully.

I'm embarrassed for the posters who claimed this clown offered more than Price earlier in the season.

He's 20! Give the lad a break. He was playing really well in the first quarter of the season and has dropped away since, but I still have no doubt he'll be a good player for us.

Can't trust anything in this article when the author doesn't understand how a rolling contract works.

"Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey has failed to hand the boss a lengthy new deal, preferring instead to offer rolling one-year deals.

Jackett’s latest contract expires in the summer."

It's rolling so it expires in a years time and next week it will expire in a year and weeks time and next month it will expire in a year and a months time and...oh you get the idea because you're not idiots like Paul Stuart

He offered more than Mcdonald earlier in the season, you know when our manager decided to play him after seeing them all summer & we beat plenty of teams. Go back through the match verdict threads if you must. Plus he is 2 years younger than Price (6 McDonald, 9 Edwards) & when you're a teenager that is quite a bit of difference.

He does have a lot more ability than Price on the ball, that is a fact but currently Prices attributes are needed more than Evans'.

He didnt offer more than McDonald, he had a few 15 minute periods where he looked lively and found a gold shirt each time, which when his pass completion rate is around 18%, fooled people into thinking we'd found the Welsh David Silva.

The parallels to last season when we persevered with haircut are shocking. Last season- Start with haircut, has a few good games, mid season slump when it gets cold and haircut dont fancy it, gets dropped in comes Price win the league at a canter.

Same for this season if you look at it... If we'd have $$$$ed him off say the start of October when we went on that shocking run I have no doubt we would be top of the league by now.

    Im not even joking.

To me Evans needs to be moulded into a specific role, currently his tackling isn't good enough to be a holding player and his passing and shooting aren't developed enough to play in behind the striker.

He reminds me a bit of Jordan Henderson in that he is a jack of all trades with good energy levels who is physically strong. There is a good player there he just needs patience, the future at the base of our midfield is him and Price because McDonald's defensive abilities are woeful (not slating him, some of his passes have been sublime recently but his marking and tracking is crap).

I think you can blame a lack of striking options on that one not a 20 year old promising midfielder who got into the Welsh squad on his performances before getting injured.

    I think that's a little harsh.

In the two months up until the Huddersfield game, he was probably our best player (he certainly won the most Man of the Match awards) and the performances he gave against Fulham (a) and Bolton (h) were the best I have seen from any Wolves midfielder this season. It's also only fair to say that he did win his place back from Price for the final two months of last season, where we quite often started with a midfield three of Evans, McDonald and Edwards.

Yes, his form did slip (along with the rest of the team) but I personally feel that was due to the Dicko/Edwards injuries and lack of suitable replacements at that time rather than the performances of any one individual (McDonald, for example, was no better than Evans during that period). Price has also done extremely well since coming in and will, quite rightly, keep the shirt for the foreseeable future.

I think you also have to remember his age. There are very few midfielders who regularly dictate games in this division at the age of 20/21. Those who do tend to be exceptional prospects like Hughes (who was also dropped for a spell earlier this year) and Huddlestone but they are the exception rather than the norm.

Evans definitely has a lot of talent but what he lacks at the moment is consistency and experience. In terms of future development, I actually think he would benefit in the long-run from a full season on loan where he can start regularly and learn more about when to play the ball simple and the midfield position in general.

I certainly wouldn't be considering selling him on a permanent basis at this stage as he has a lot of the tools required to be very good midfielder.

Interesting stats on here, up there with the best in the championship per game on passing stats (backs up bend it like dennison stats, clearly got an issue with the boy). We were top of the league when the boy broke his hand against Birmingham, 18 games in. We have three very good midfielders at the club, but i agree with tring wolf, he needs a full season, whether it be a full season on loan to another championship club next year, if not getting the relevant game time.

I would like to see him go out on loan and get games.. He showed consistently at the beginning of the season that he can handle this standard.. I still think theres parts to his game that he needs to improve but that's obvious as a 20 year old..

Maybe I should have said he needs to find more consistency Tring.

I want him to stay and think he has a lot to offer.

What I don't think Wolves have as a whole is a set of midfielders of which any combo can offer a midfield that can control a game. I have felt all season long and said on many occasions Wolves need a quality midfield player and still feel that applies now.

Whilst Evans, McDonald and Price are good players and Edwards a hard grafter I don't feel that have any central midfield players that in whatever set up or combo offers enough at times.

Way too error prone for my liking, unlike Price. His mistake away at Ipswich probably being the worst this season. He gifted them a goal and we lost 2-1. That said, we probably need to keep him until KJ can bring some upgrades to central midfield, hopefully in the summer.

He has all the technical ability , just needs to be managed correctly Imo . He has a big ego, and I'm sure there are plenty of footballers with big egos that have made it! Just needs someone to respect I think and someone that can guide him in using his ego in a good manner.

Sorry but you are a very poor and biased judge indeed based on these comments. His early season form was excellent and he was getting higher marks than McDonald who was playing well. He has an excellent and sometimes spectacular passing range and I have seen him do some heavy duty tackling too. He is only 20 and so not surprisingly has proven inconsistent and still learning the game positionally etc. You are talking rubbish and I think given proper help and support he is a potential star of the future.

I think he'd suit the number ten role a lot better than in the middle, if we have the need to go back to a 4-2-3-1 formation. I think he'd be a belting link up between Price/Macca and then the forward lines.

It is ridiculous stating 'get rid' in my opinion, has a lot to offer and will develop as a player.
