As many said, lower pricing helps build a great atmosphere - and it benefits the team!

I know they can't do such offers all the time, and I doubt all the people would go all the time, but repeating such offers could really help. This was a non event league game, 26000 tickets sold prior to Sir Jacks passing so don't need to hear people saying that was the reason it sold well.

And the importance of atmosphere surely cannot be underestimated, to me KJ's comments drive home the importance of getting the new Steve Bull stand done bang up to the pitch asap.

We WILL benefit massively as Wolves fans CAN create a great noise in support of the players, given an atmospheric ground, which in all honesty we just do not have at present.

I understand your points on the acoustics etc but I honestly think the rebuilds will do more harm than good for the atmosphere (like it did with the northbank). It will just mean more expensive prices (the Billy Wright is already more expensive than the the Steve Bull despite being opposite so I'd imagine a new modern stand in that position would at very least be increased to the same level as the Billy Wright) and morew corporate areas.

I know the acoustics aren't brilliant at Molineux but its been like that for 20 years now and there used to be some great atmopsheres. For me the problem with atmosphere has far more to do with the type of people attending games compared to before and less to do with the acoustics and I only see the continued rebuild to increase the speed of that change of supporter base.

If the rebuild was to coincede with a complete overhaul on ticketing and pricing I'd agree but I'm pretty sure it won't. If anything the new improved 'facilities' will be used for the complete opposite.

I agree with you Reans. I'm a season ticket holder, but I buy one because I like my seat, not for financial gain. I couldn't care less if they let people in at reduced rates until the end of the season if it helps the team. I would much rather watch my football at a full vibrant Molineux, than one with 10000 empty seats.

As Russ Abbot said, 'I love an atmosphere'

If they do more offers like Blackpool they would have to reduce season ticket prices.

Yes atmosphere is always important but even more important is having quality players on the field worthy of people getting behind. The expectation that crowd atmosphere should make up for the deficiencies of our players on the field is not much good. Everything hinges on raising the quality of player we bring in. That is far more important than ground improvements etc although in good time improving infrastructure is of course important.

Signing Akobe in January was a start but are the club really going for promotion by investing further in the first team? That is all I want to know at the moment.

What a load of tosh - they presume everyone lives IN Wolverhampton!

Anyway, i accept all other points but when you go to Albion you do notice how noise goes around the ground, at Wolves its way too open. I want a tight knit ground that gets you extra points - literally!

There is undoubtedly a perception from many that great fans exist at some clubs - and there is an inextricable link between closely knit grounds and fans who provide good quality support. Personally I dont think Albion, Palace, West Ham, Pompey, Liverpool are any better at all, but the structure of their grounds doesnt half help them at times.

If they do rebuild the Steve Bull they'll have to do something more permanent with lower prices. A new Steve Bull would have at least a third extra capacity, now currently the Steve Bull on a typical matchday is less than half full, so rebuilding it and having current level of attendances would see a stand less than a third full. No matter how much you hem it in to make more atmposphere if it's so empty it's not going to make much difference.

It was a roar of relief when at last we scored, each time we built up a head of steam up to then, a player went down with crap.

They are probably using supporter number and membership details as well as season ticket holder details.

Don't think they have access to such details mate. Its just a simple average gate v city population assessment.

Well we have done a half price game, a free ticket for 13,000 fans to give away & next time it's the £5 membership ticket deal thing against Reading. Add that to some decent form & we may get some more fans through the door.

Away supporter numbers have been rubbish this season. This must also impact on the atmosphere .

I think away support is down across the board. Our away support has held up well.

In fairness the club have listened and these offers help us through the difficult winter period. I do think it benefits the club and acts as a sort of "pick me up".

Sorry! I should have been clearer (on my phone at work). I meant the numbers of away supporters coming to Molineux and not our away support.

Massively important and more so about vocal support than numbers IMO.

Nothing wrong with the Molineux roar, I go to all home and away games and the support I see/hear from the home fans is not as good as ours, FACT

Why have a season ticket if it actually works out dearer over a season?

I don't think the large crowd helped us in the first 75 minutes. In fact, other than the first 5 and the tribute I thought it was pretty flat. Last 15 minutes showed us how good it could be.

Our away support is also good but a word for Boro. They've travelled unbelievably well this year considering the distances

I was really surprised how flat the atmosphere was on Saturday, certainly in the 1st half. This must have been down to the way we played, pretty slow and lethargic and also it was clear to all Blackpool had come to park the bus.

To be fair our average would be a lot higher but for Ipswich away MIDWEEK and Watford away at 5.30 on Bixung day

We also still have two more long journeys to go to midweek being M-Boro and Bournemouth, (don't count Huddersfield as a long journey)

Both Leeds and M-boro's average is inflated by their away following at Blackburn, almost 7000 is that correct?

I agree, it was'nt that great for long spells, it was a poor game played at Hoddle-esque management pace.

I am certainly not saying the extra 6000-7000 fans were more supportive at all, but at the same time they were no more guilty of making little noise than the core 20,000 who attend most weeks. But when we scored the subsequent atmosphere was far better than with 20,000 in the stadium.

We've got 3 games that we will take good followings to there , blues forest and Wigan, I'd expect minimum 2500 to each off them

The Millwall away stats made me laugh. 3000+ for London games, 1000+ for other SE games, below 500 once they get north of Watford.

So the play was influencing the crowd rather than the other way round?
