The People saying we want him on loan with a view to a permanent summer move.
20year old midfielder
Always hear good things about him (so this bit is probably unfair) but I have seen Pompey twice on the box this season I think and he was rubbish.
Really good player. More from the Matt Ritchie school of wide midfielders than a traditional winger. Could play the Number 10 role too.
If he were to come in I'm guessing it would be as a CAM. Edwards has been dropped in favour of a shoehorned Henry, so I take it that KJ is looking to upgrade.
We've long been linked with him. Must be something in this.
I think the window closes on thursday
The all-important YouTube video.
Never personally seen him play but I have heard a lot of good things about him.
Oh God. Another 35 page thread that will turn out in utter disappointment.
A player with fantastic potential, would be really happy with this signing in the long term.
Not sure if he'd have the immediate impact we probably require though but certainly worth a gamble.
Very promising player. I hope we get him.
A side point but this seems to be an increasing thing (usually in the first loan window) where clubs are using the loan windows to effectively sign a player permanently, I've read that Fifa or UEFA (can't remember which) are already beginning to raise questions about the loan window and you have to imagine signings like this would only push that further.
A player that hype has probably over taken his actual ability. Wait to long to move imo, should Have been playing league 1 football by now.
Disagree. He is still only 20.
How old were Kightly and Jarvis when we signed them?
I think he's done the right thing, rather than potentially sit on a League One or Championship club's bench he's clocked up over 100 league games by the age of 20 and continued to develop.
Now is the ideal time for him to step up, imo, how many times have we seen a young 17/18 year old kid move up too quickly and halt their progress by being stuck on a bench/in the reserves or farmed out on loan to a different club every 3 months.
Certainly fits our policy, young with a good few games already.
He could offer easily play in league 1 week in week out a couple of seasons ago.
We were linked with him last year before he signed a contract extension with pompey. Having a very good season in a struggling side.
Not seen him player, but hear he is easily there best player and eye for goal (always seems net when I check)
Would be decent imo
Would he be able to step up to this level?
Another to add to the growing list!
Who really knows for certain. He is talented though and plenty of others have so hopefully he will, if we sign him.
I will check again tonight with my Pompey STH mate but he thinks he's more effort than skill. Runs with the ball and doesn't give up. Sounds like an upgraded Edwards.
Not really what we should be looking at then.
I thought that an upgraded Edwards is what everyone wants?
If he is an upgrade on 8 goals and a couple of assists, is younger, less injury prone then I will be happy with that.
Nice to see the linked player but I think we really could do with Some experience in the middle
I notice Knockaert is still nowhere near the Leicester side.
Ok then. Jed Wallace - always running, always trying, never gives up. Not the most skillful, not their best player but a bit like a young Kevin Keegan. There I've doomed him with a label.
And he doesn't think he'd leave but the money (circa £3m) would be useful to them.
No! We want the next Gerrard and nothing else is good enough!
£3m? Our existing headless chicken of a CAM will run around aimlessly for a fraction of that.
Would be very surprised if we paid 3m. I would imagine 1m with add-ons at the most. Still though if he has edwards work rates with a bit of flair and skill, he would be a great signing.
Scott Sinclair & Josh McEachran spring to mind
Never heard of him so won't comment either way. Just like 99% of all the other people on this thread, if they were being honest.
We were linked last season. I've seen him a couple of times on TV. Not much to base an opinion on but can't say he stood out particularly and I was watching him, knowing of the rumoured interest.
However the club certainly seem to research these thing VERY thoroughly judging by the few signings made this season.
He's alright on FM if anyone was wondering
Know zilch about him but is he what Wolves need right now?
And the fee of £3M being mentioned is ridiculous.
Ah Essex. You know nothing about him but the fee mentioned is ridiculous.
Sounds more like a young Dangerous Dave to me...
Know nothing about him but at 20 I doubt he could make an impact on our team NOW and that is what we need. As usual no action just words and vague rumours. Whatever else happens, bar Afobe and to some extent VLP our transfer business has been pathetic. The reality is we will be shopping in the thrird and fourth divisions in future with the occasional Premiership reserve reject arriving on a free also.
