Just wondering what everyone thinks the transfer policy should be from next week, from a business perspective ? Without any accusations of assuming we're definitely going to get promoted (god forbid)....we're in an incredibly strong business position to bargain with the best young players who might be looking for a move.....moreso than teams at the foot of the Premier League who have got a terrific fight just to stay there and aren't attractive prospects long term. I read that Pompey are probably going for Marvin Elliot from Bristol....well Pompey are 3 points off the drop zone with Tony Adams in charge? Who would bet on them definitely staying up now? Are they a more attractive long term proposition than Wolves at this moment in time? West Brom muddled around last season and wouldn't spend January money because Jeremy Peace said they were in too risky a league position for him to spend money....and he thought that some of the best players would see them as too much of a risk. We're top of the league at Xmas by 7 points, we've done everything right so far. There's less risk for us of failure, less risk for a player to join us. Do we press on and try to strengthen now with players who could have a long term future at a higher level with Wolves...but might cost less now than "if" we got promoted and tried to buy them in July as a Prem club? Or do we think our squad is strong enough to see us through til May?
