We are level with points now, it's literally in our hands now. Keep the results going and we can make that top 6.

I'm almost glad we're playing Ipswich because at least that's one rival result we can control!

Beat Ipswich at home and defy the record books at Middlesbrough and it really is in our hands.

BBC had a preview earlier and they wrote us as the dark horses for this and I think we are.

It's not quite in our own hands.
We can control seventh place as we have to play Ipswich, but we still need Derby/Brentford to get less points than us over the next six games
It could be in our hands prior to the kick off v Leeds dependant on results earlier in the day

But as Derby are playing Brentford when we play Blues it is.

Anyone thinking we can make the top two needs to sober up though (in the morning at least)

Play offs would be fantastic. Don't wanna seem negative but I don't think there's any realistic chance of top two. Would love to be proved wrong though!

Definitely in with a shot at the playoffs, the big difference now is that we offer a real goal threat and our GD is heading upwards pretty quickly!

Why did we not appoint KJ after Prem relegation? The turmoil was nowhere near as bad then as when he did come in.

This league is absolute crazy. By the time our game against Boro comes it might look completely different. I think it's gonna be Bournemouth and Norwich automatic (bit too much to ask/optimistic thinking we're going to achieve top 2!). If we make the playoffs, I would want to avoid Watford over two legs or the final, but I'd really fancy us against the rest! What we need to remember is - there's a very strong possibility that we won't reach the playoffs, but what an achievement for a newly assembled, newly promoted league 1 side. If we don't go up and we keep two out of Sako Dicko and Afobe) top 2 is ours.

KJ got the selection bang on today. That's out strongest XI. Having RVLP to bring on is a great asset. Keep fighting Wanderers!

Oh, and is Iorfa getting better every match? Strength, speed, composure, intelligence, reading
..He could be a top right back!

It would make up for the season we blew the 10 point lead (or there abouts) under Dave Jones.

If nothing else it's great that at this stage the season is still alive and we have something to play for.

Well done Kenny & the boys for giving us something to shout about.

Quite incredible we could get 86 points and still not get into the playoffs.

I'm not really a statto but I know plenty are ... What's the highest ever points needed to come 6th in Tier 2 ?

Over the past twenty years 76 points has been the highest points total needed, on two of those occasions we came 7th.

It's strange. We all thought that this year was a weak year because there was no standout side in the division but in terms of strength in depth, this has probably been the best and most competitive Championship ever. The likes of Bournemouth, Norwich and Watford are very decent sides and we've done extremely well to still be in there at this late stage.

I'm normally as positive as anyone on here but I can't see any way we will make up 8 points on Middlesbrough, 7 on Bournemouth and 6 on Norwich and Watford in just 6 games. We'd have to win all 6 just to have an outside chance.

Regardless of how it all ends up, we've had a really good year with some great long-term foundations put in place.

With only six games, top 2 is too much of a stretch. Certainly if we keep winning then play off's are in our hands. As we know play offs is a lottery but its better to be in there than finish 7th or 8th.
Plenty to be positive about if our players stay fit.

Crazy, I've just looked at the form table and we're only 7th. The good news is Ipswich and Derby especially are not in good form, we need to aim to finish above them and we should make 6th.

I must be the only pessimist here at the moment: on previous occasions when we have had the chance to 'go top' or really step forward we have blown it.

Still, I wonder what Derby fans are thinking? I had them down for dead certs not long ago. All makes for a thrilling season's end.

See I think we will do Boro. Sneaky feeling we may struggle v Brum though.

But not to worry, I am attending yet another away game, this time at Blues. Never lost an away game (have I mentioned this before:D)

I want the 3 points back that Mike Jones ripped us off for against Bournemouth (yes I'm still annoyed and going on about it), what a difference they would make right now.

Probably shouldn't say this but I reckon Derbyshire will drop more points than any other team in the top 8. They just look done in

IMO the easiest 2 points we have lost this season is away to Millwall
3-0 up with about 25 mins left and we drew 3-3
I remember us singing You might as well go home and we're Wolverhampton we're taking the $$$$. Hope those 2 points don't come back and haunt us

Here's the form table from the past 6 games.

    http://www.footballformguide.net/form/sky-bet-championship

Of top 8 in the league table, only Derby and Ipswich are missing from the top 8 of the form table.

The recent form of both Leeds & Brum is pretty decent. Those are going to be tough games.

We must beat Leeds. Birmingham away a potential banana skin but in theory we can get 3 pts there too. Then its crunch time.We must beat Ipswich. Don't want to think much beyond that. Middlesbrough away really tough. Will Millwall and Wigan have something to fight for? - if so could be more than nerve racking.I can see us getting three more wins and four is a possibility. Then perhaps one loss and one or two draws? So 79 points likely, 81 points if you are feeling very optimistic. The latter should be enough for sixth or even fifth , the former might see us losing out on goal average which would really hurt.
