I really hope not. If he is out for another 12 months then i guess he will have to seriously consider his future. I hope this is not the case. Just listening to the reporter at the game, it does not sound good at all..:(

  2. Stupid thread.

Can we have this closed down until we've heard more?

No, Matt's news (along with the other injuries) have taken the gloss off the evening's result.

Matt deserves so much better than this.

  4. Apparently cleared the ball upfield and immediately went down holding his right leg. Signalled for the physio and was stretchered off.
I think we will just have to wait for the official update now.

I know we don't know the full details but MM is someone with a history of these recuring injuries and if this is yet another, one would have to wonder whether his body is physically unable to cope.

We have heard more, its a reoccurrence of his old injury, and it is just a question and a reasonable one at that. I more than anyone hope he can recover quickly, but if its another long period out then you do have to ask what his future holds...

I really don't think this should be speculated on until people know more information.

People are basing this on nothing more than internet reports and hear'say.

Just cause you close your eyes doesn't make the problem go away !!

I know we don't want a knee jerk reaction ('scuse pun) but sounds ominous. My immediate reaction was Career Over.

At least we have a thread where we can update and monitor developments.

Here's wishing Matt the best of luck, hope it's not as serious as it sounds.

    Collapsed when taking a kick.

Does not look good. Would be playing for England if it wasn't for the injuries.

He needs a lot of inner strength now to get through.

What rubbish. You have no way of substantiating that unless you have a direct line to the Hereford physio room.

    Which you don't.

  13. With respect I relayed the journalist report from pitchside and not webmunter hearsay.

Can we close this please until we hear a confirmation on Matt's condition? I don't think it's right to speculate these things on a public forum without more solid fact.

    From Herefords official site

"Our thoughts must go out to, goalkeeper, Matt Murray though, who collapsed in agony attempting to kick the ball clear shortly after half-time before MK Dons took the lead."

"Another lenghty layoff looks on the cards for the popular Wolves glove-man, who is on loan at Edgar Street."

Im not going to argue with you, i agree with Nightfall, it was obvious to all at the ground, the reporter who was at the ground and gave his briefing to Beacon that it is a very serious injury and if it proves not to be the case then i as well as the majority on here will be very happy! I am just asking a very reasonable question..get over it!

Taken from a MK Dons V Hereford match report:

55mins - SUB: Samson comes on for the injured Murray
54mins - The on-loan Wolves keeper is carried from the field, to ringing applause from the home support.
52mins - Murray kicks the ball clear and immiediatlely collapses to the floor in agony. It appears he has suffered a recurrence of his ongoing injury problems throughout his career. The stretcher is on and the stadium is silent.

Not very good reading though is it !!!!

  20. If this thread is closed then so would most of the others on here as they are also nothing more than speculation.

I don't see how you can compare who we are going to sign on loan etc to talking about a man who was in goal when we got promoted and is a favorite of a lot of fans career is over. People should have more respect.

It's been said players read this board, how would Murray feel if he read this.

Well said. All of our hearts go to Murray but I think it's better we receive some stone wall news before speculating the worst.

It would be no worse than how he is feeling now. For goodness sake i did notsay his career was over, it is a legitimate question in light of the serious injury that has occurred tonight and as i stated before i will be more than happy if it is not as serious as it sounds.

Come on, some people are over-reacting to this thread. I don't see anything wrong with discussing it, it's not libellous or defaming anyone's character. It's just a group of sympathetic fans worrying over what could have happened to one of our own. Why are some people getting so high and mighty? Get over yourselves.

I doubt he'd call it a day, keepers generally go on until mid-late thirties nowadays so even though he has had a lot of injuries and a lot of setbacks coming back from them he still theoretically has time to get a few years out of his career,

If Murray's reading this then hopefully that means his injury isn't too bad! ;)

But on a serious note, I wish the man a speedy recovery, he is a superb goalkeeper and by all accounts a great man! Good luck Big Matt

  28. It's exactly the same thing. It's talking about a player. Just because it's posibly bad news why should it be censored?

And if Matt Murray does read this thread, I would think he would see the people wishing him good luck and know that we all care. I'll own up that I haven't said that yet but I do now. Best wishes Matt and hope it's nothing.

Get a grip -- Diana hasn't died again.

I'd probably have chosen a different title for the thread but it's not as if the question isn't the same one on everybody's mind. I'm guessing (and it is only a guess) that Matt's first reaction to his injury wasn't, "I hope nobody mentions retirement on Molineux Mix... I don't think I could stand that, not after all we've been through..."
