Forest's key player is, of course, Antonio, who has had an excellent season.

He gave Doherty a torrid time in the original fixture and it is hard to avoid the conclusion that he lacks the athleticism to deal with one of the best wingers in the division. . I like Doherty very much for his commitment and often penetrative attacking play, but a game like this is crying out for Iorfa to snuff out Forest's most dangerous player.

He started on the left against us at Molineux and burst into the box on his first run.

Pretty sure he played on the left against us at home and in their game against Norwich sky have him on the left.

Capable of playing either side though, so maybe something they'll consider with Iorfa potentially nullifying his pace and size advantage.

My boss is a Forest season-ticket holder and he says that Antonio is very over-rated and would swap him for Sako in a heartbeat.

Surprised me as I've thought he's looked a real handful whenever I've seen him (Antonio, not my boss. He's not a natural footballer).

If Iorfa comes through the England games unscathed, I'd play him too, although I think Doherty did well in the second half against Derby.

Well he certainly turned up against us at Molineux. Absolutely tore us a new one down the left side. Pace and power.

Absolutely. That was what prompted the initial discussion. Him and Lansbury were superb that day.

Can only really remember Dock mis-reading a crossfield ball which lead to that half lunge from Bent. I quite like him but I'm not sure what Iorfa has done to be dropped. He's faster and stronger, yes a bit raw but ultimately better.

Iorfa for me too - quicker, stronger and a better defender.

Oh yeah totally fine with Doherty since he's come in and as KJ sees them day in day out, so his decision is the best judged of everyone.

I would always select Iorfa ahead of Doherty but there is also the question of march fitness now Iorfa has missed a few games.

Doherty very nearly cost us a goal in the first half v Derby and I am sure he will have a difficult game at Forest as my gut feeling is that he will stay in the team until he makes a major mistake with consequences. Doherty did well against Sheffield Wednesday though.

On the other side of the defence I thought Golbourne was much improved v Derby after a less impressive game v Sheffield Wednesday.

I can't see how Jackett will change a defence that has stood firm against the divisions potentially best attacking unit in Derby. Even though we were a tad fortunate not to concede I must add

I much prefer Iorfa in every department of the game. Doherty made a major $$$$-up in the first half from which we were very lucky not to concede. He's a decent player, just not as good as Iorfa.

I prefer Iorfa in every department. I think Kenny will stick with the same defense that's got us the clean sheets last week

Personally I think it would be harsh to drop Doherty from a back four which has just kept two clean sheets, one against one of the strongest sides in the division.

Ultimately I think Iorfa will be a far better player than Doherty, though I sense that his emergence onto the scene earlier this season and how well he's performed is leading a few to suggest he is far better than Doherty than is really the case.

Both are good, young full backs and could have great careers at Wolves. I'm not sure the difference, at least at the moment, is as big as is suggested.

I don't like Doherty anyway, he's the weak link for me & Antonio will just run over him again.

How about we let Forest worry about Sako, Dicko, Van la Parra and Afobe ?

I like Doherty a lot and I expect him to start with Henry in front of him. That said, my personal preference is for Iorfa to always start if he is available.

Should Kenny make any changes and we lose the Tinkerman criticism will appear.

Of all the remaining fixtures left, for some reason, I have a feeling that the Forest and Blues fixtures are the two that will define how our season ends.

Iorfa hasn't really done anything to be dropped. But Doherty's got the bigger contract so I'd expect him to start when fit.

Going by that logic Kenny would have made RJ, JOH and Doyle regular first teamers :p If Iorfa is better for the team then he'll be played.

My understanding was Iorfa got injured and this is what opened the door to MD coming back into the team. This one is Kenny's call, it is decisions like this he is paid to make. The fact that the lad gave Doherty a torrid time earlier in the season does not mean that he won't do the same to Iorfa who hopefully if he is chosen does the business on the day and if he does struggle ultimately has the confidence to overcome a roasting.

Doherty looked decent Friday. I'd start Iorfa every game too but it might be good management of a player who's still young.

It was interesting listening to the Sheff Wed highlights that the commentary team highlighted Doherty as a weakness solely based on his performance against Forest.

I think that judgement was harsh, and further compelled by his assists.

I think Doherty is more than up to the task, and now he has a point to prove against Antonio it may well be the motivation needed to stop him.

I think the other main area to bear in mind is on that day we were still unsettled in selection, and now with Price in his rightful place, the distribution to the channels will be impeded to a higher standard than it was at the Mol, there's no way Price will let Lansbury have the run of the game like he did.

How many more points would we have had if Jackett had stuck with the midfield pairing of McDonald and Price from our League One campaign?

Very good question. Jackett's biggest mistake this season.

It will be a different game against Forest. As the home team we had to show the initiative and take the game to them. They played 2 centre midfield players and 2 wide players to supplement Assombalonga and Fryatt. They relied on counter attacking which they did to good effect.
This time round they will take it to is.We will sit deeper and rely on what we do best-counter attacking.
I can see us possibly putting the extra man (Edwards?) in the middle with possibly Dicko on the bench and play more narrow.

And last season's was his insistence of playing Cassidy game after game when he failed to score and we won 1 in 10 including the Cups leading up to Christmas and in to January .

Iorfa definitely has more to offer as regards being a stronger athlete than Doherty and against a tough opponent can fully understand the point being made in the OP.

Even so, I don't believe that Kenny would allow money to dictate his team selection at all.

I really like Doherty but agree with OP. Iorfa with Henry in front with the Doc in reserve if we need a goal with 20-30 mins to go.

Are you travelling up EW, if so could possibly arrange a meet and hopefully you won't get held-up.
