    Just heard on the radio. Short time with us as manager. Cant remember why so short but if my memory serves me he came in as a stop gap manager.
    RIP and condolences to his family and friends.

    OW, IIRC Ian Greaves was not a stop gap manager. He was appointed in 82 and took the helm from Ian Ross who had been caretaker manager after Barnwell had left the club. Greaves' short reign was probably more to do with firstly relegation and subsequently Wolves' financial plight which saw the installation of the new regime (led by The Doog ) which sacked Greaves and installed Graham Hawkins as manger for the new season than any 'stop gap' appointment of Greaves.

    RIP Ian, you took over at the club as we were in turmoil and did your best.

    There are some good photos of Ian and some players on the E&S web page if any body is interested, i particularly like the one with King John in the background.
