i hear tickets arent selling very wel.. lets hope we can take 1500 plus
Got our four on Friday and we'd sold just over 1000. Thought it would be more seeing it's only a 2 hour trip, top of the table and we took 1500 to Rotherham.
Regardless, seven of us will be in Sheff from 2pm onwards for quite a few beers!
Depends where you're starting from. Not every Wolves supporter lives in Wolverhampton
i guess a fair majority do ?
The majority will, some may even live closer. Should still take more than 1500 though
Not comparing apples with apples when you bring up the Rotherham game. That was in August, not a very cold spell in November, we didn't have a local derby four days later, tickets were only £10 and a lot of people would have gone to visit a new stadium (a crap one, but still a new one) for the first and possibly only ever time.
The new stadium I'll accept, but Sheff U away is one of our biggest games this year, we're flying and it's fairly easy to get to for the majority.
Think we took 3200 on the Friday night 3-2 win.
Anyone travelling East Yorkshire/Hull area who could give me a lift back (Dewsbury has already been in contact and sadly didn't work out because trains are a joke on a Tuesday night). Would obviously pay petrol for the extra milage it will cause. PM me
I agree its by far our biggest game so far this season, but its unfair to compare the friday night game from about 10 years ago when ticket prices would have been about £10 cheaper, Petrol and travel lots cheaper and the game wasnt in the middle of a very uncertain economic climate.
With Xmas around the corner, and bills on the increase, Wolves aways arent a priority for many at the moment
need as many there as we can, a point is a good result....
Does anyone know if I can pay on the gate?
(Tomorrow I've got a looooong meeting in Leeds and I'm thinking of 'developing' a tummy bug about 4:30ish)
im sure there will be a pay gate.
My train gets in just before that.
Which pub are you going to be in?
Yep, got a fair few of us congregating from various parts of the country arriving in Sheffield 2ish as well.
We're going to be doing a bit of a tour around the city to be honest, but usually start in the Roebuck, which is left out the train station and then up the hill.
Do not go in the Howard opposite the rail station. The police will round you up and it will be a $$$$ day. Getting in that early you'll probably be alright, but there has been problems with over zealous policing in years gone by.
We've got the train to Derby and then in so it doesn't look like we've arrived from Wolves. Also only costing £8!
Jack before the train gets into Derby split into groups of 2 the coppers watch for what is going on in the station, even that early.. and they radio ahead..
IIRC from a few years ago the coppers were waiting outside Sheffield station and trying to round up people..(and it was quite early)
Even I'm making this one
May make the trek up after work, haven't decided for definite yet.
£26 is very steep for behind the goal, it's a crap view from their lower tier and the facilities are crap, I only hope they don't decide to stick an extra couple of quid on for pay on the day.
Got tickets last monday and i was told there were 700 left. So we should have sold the full 3000 by now i would imagine
Taking the opportunity to take some stuff over to bloodsucker no 1 who is currently partying in the vicinity of Sheffield Uni.
So we will be doing the cheapest pub in Sheffield before and after the game.
Thanks for the tip Derby! My mate has just got a ticket and the office reckon 1300 have gone now so will probably touch just over 1500 - not bad considering the time of year.
They also said only six seats were left in the South Bank for Blues and that the tickets are only available on the wings of the Steve Bull and Billy Wright. Could be heading for a sell-out
was that out of the 1400 though ?
I think 1500 is ok, Sheffield United brought about the same amount in that turgid 0-0 draw when they got promoted a few years back, I do remember the atmosphere being brilliant for about 30 mins, shame neither set of players responded to it!!
As for Blues, I hear they are close to selling out their allocation so I reakon it will be 25-26k for that one.
The official website said there were 3000 tickets available when i looked. Have i got the wrong end of stick or summat
Its a shame that the match is on a Tuesday night, I'm sure if it had been on a Saturday or over a holiday period then we'd have sold a lot more, we've filled both tiers easily in the past, anybody remember the 1-1 draw there on Easter monday in 99? An Osborn free kick got us a draw, great atmosphere that day.
Ive just found out my ticket from when I went in the 97-98 season, only cost a tenner, and about 8 quid on the coach. Your average away trip costs probably twice that nowadays, which of course is another factor.
Anyway, I'm sure that however many go up there they'll still make themselves heard!
When I called up regarding Blues tickets they only had seats in the front 4 rows - mainly just the front though - in the Jack Harris and when asking for tickets towards the back of the Stan Cullis stand was told that they're only on the wings. Seems like it should be a good attendance, even if it is on the telly.
Four of us going tomorrow. Obviously its easier for me, just a quick trip across snakes pass (hate that road!).
I would hope 1500 will go but attendances have been very much down on what i would expect this season, less than 23,000 on Saturday was really poor imo but there again we are in an economic crisis.
i have never been before, does anyone know how long it takes to walk from the station at a steady pace ?
Hi Kev, try and look out for one another I have a survey to do in S21 at around 2-30 so should be at the ground in well early time with Steve.
Love your quote about "Bloodsucker No 1" it brings back so many memories when I was pouring so much hard earned into Bangor for my two.
Steady pace, I reckon twenty minutes. If you are a fast walker and you know where you're going 15.
many thanks jack, i now know i can catch a train and get home
Don't forget it might be five or so minutes longer after the game, due to congestion of getting out and rediculous police tactics. Never seen any before there, but you never know.
