How hard is it for a foreigner to get tickets?

I was thinking of eventually coming over - that was the ultimate goal when we rejoined the Premier League. I've got a decent job, and plan to go to England for a week and see Wolves. My good friend is a Man Utd fan, I'm guessing those tickets are even harder to get my mittens on.

I'm looking at $1500-2000 (£860-£1160) just for flight. Then whatever else for food and accommodations.

    Thanks for any advice/help.

No harder than anyone else buying them online. Last time I did it from the US I just had to print them out and bring them to the gate.

However, I'm guessing availability is going to be an issue from now on, whether you're purchasing in the UK or abroad. I guess be aware of when they go on sale and be ready to book immediately.

Wait for fixture dates to come out mid-june. At a guess i would think.a mid week evening kick off away at Southampton might be your best bet if its just before Xmas

Yeah I was figuring availability would be an issue. Is the secondary market like Stub Hub a thing for English Soccer, I've never looked.

I have no issues getting tickets for soccer here. I do have issues getting Habs tickets though!

You should join the membership scheme to stand any chance of getting a ticket. It's going to be tough for everybody who isn't a season ticket holder next season.

Go on the website and look for 'My Wolves'. Just to paint the picture - the last two home games didn't make it to general sale. They sold out to members. It costs £25 but it's money well invested.

First thing is to get a membership which gives you a chance of buying your own ticket. There will obviously be more competition to get a "normal" ticket at face value next season.
If you're investing that much and are coming a distance, you might want to look at corporate package tickets, with a meal etc. If you do that you'll avoid the risk of the messing around online or hanging on the phone from abroad and still missing out.
Most everyday Wolves fans at the moment just want the ticket, there's not been a lot of demand for extras because of the cost so it might be an option of a few seasons until people become clued up more.

Man United do that sort of thing really well to cater for one-time supporters, I looked it up for a mate's birthday present. They do have a lot more on sale..
Very organised with two sittings for food and bar access....either before, or after the game, but not both. A bit like being in a herd of cattle, but it gets you in.

Wolves do have an awful lot of catching up to do if they want to make the Premier League stick and increase capacity and matchday handling to what might be required, and it's not purely seats that they're lacking.
It might actually be easier for you to get a ticket to watch Wolves away from home at one of the big stadiums that are handling this sort of thing in a more sophisticated way already.

I came home to catch two matches this season, but i understood then it would probably be the last time that tickets would be relatively easy to obtain, and probably not in the away end again.

I'd recommend getting the mywolves membership for the 100 loyalty points. That way you can get tickets before they hit general sale, meaning you will have a better chance of actually getting one.

Edit: Oh.. I'm about the one millionth person to say it :D

One other suggestion - you could try emailing the club and explaining your situation. Under previous regimes that would be a waste of time but nowadays they are a little more customer focused and a little positive publicity for organising tickets might appeal to them.

I think tickets might be easier to get next season for 3 reasons:

    1. The club are going a buy back scheme for season ticket holders who can't make games so they will go on general sale
    2. Every single game will have full TV coverage overseas and will therefore be available to stream online
    3. People will stop going as regularly when we're not winning all the time.

I was at work on break. Plus, I hate loading any full websites on my phone except forums. Not sure what cell phone data limits are like in UK, but it's awful here.

And if you would like to wipe my ass, be my guest!

Same advice as everyone really, join the membership scheme. Don't plan too far ahead because of the Sky Sports fixture changes, you might book to come over and it turns out the game's on the Monday not the Saturday.

I've been going over for one game every year and always make a day of it. I get some corporate tickets. Cost a bit extra but it is only one a year for me. Can't wait for the fixtures to come out see which game it will be this season.

Am I the only one worried that most non-STHs are going to become members this season and consequently being a member could make very little difference to being able to get tickets?

I think capping membership has been discussed here but it's not something the club are considering.

Got to get the new South Bank/Steve Bull built!

Not sure getting a membership is the right advice to someone who's coming over for one game. It will not be worth it and will effectively double the cost of your ticket.

Once you know when your plan on coming I'm sure many on here will help you get a ticket. If it's a game I can't make I'll be happy to get you a ticket on my membership (I also have access to at least two or three more so should be able to help even if I am going)

I think it's great all these fans from all four corners of the globe... nice to have you onboard from Canada mate. Gladly buy you a Labatt or Molson after felling a few trees and eating beaver !!

I decided in the end to get one as I was told at the office that any game I didn't want to or couldn't go to I could sell the seat back to the club. If that's the case I wish I'd bought one years ago. Anyhow, I had to buy one in J1 as there was basically no alternative outside of the BW. I've never sat there before so have taken a gamble.

If you visit the Thomas cook sport website they will be offering wolves packages which include a hotel etc- this may be your best option from abroad. I would imagine they would keep x amount of tickets back for this

    Really? Is this confirmed.

So tickets held back for people to bypass the loyalty points scheme if they are paying for expensive packages.

Not surprised apparently to take available tickets away from genuine supporters so that football tourists can buy them has to go hand in hand with success.

Thanks for this info Kiddy, not heard about this, so I shall look into it.

A package will no doubt cost a fair amount of money but fans will pay considerably more for a one off match a season.
