Just wondered what people's opinions are on the battle between these two for the left back slot?.
Golbourne (if properly fit) every time.
Golbourne for the remainder of this season but hause to have made that spot his own a few months into next season
The whole situation is muddied by the fact that for both fullback positions the one most of us would prefer is regularly said not to be properly fit, but is sitting on the bench. I thought Hause had a better game today than Golbourne had two weeks ago, but whether he is genuinely being picked ahead of him or KJ is just protecting Golbourne's mysterious injury is hard to know.
Golbourne if fit but I think Hause has generally done really well for his breakthrough season.
Think he will be a very good centre-half in the future.
Golbourne, he is a left back, Hause is just a player who can fill in at left back.
If he isn't fit he shouldn't be on bench simples
Play him he's best left back by mile
Wasn't somebody saying yesterday that Golbourne has an attitude problem that's causing a bit of grief? Find that hard to believe seeing his interviews, so laid back he's horizontal!
Anyway SG all day but Hause is doing fine...........just not as good as SG
Golbourne, no question. Hause isn't a full back.
Golbourne, although Hause should be proud of the way he's played since being thrown in. He will still go on to be an excellent player IMO, just needs to get back into his natural position.
Hause is going to be a very good centre back. Golbourne at left back for me.
This in Spades
Golbourne is a fantastic left back but again Hause played well yesterday
I agree with the majority that Golbourne should be our left back for the remainder of our season. With him not being in the side it does take away a large attacking threat from the left back position. I also believe that it makes Sako less of a threat as he works very well with Golbourne.
I'm a fan of Hause and I see Centre Half as the position he will make his own over the next 12 months. I know it's a critical part of the season now but could he do a job at the heart of our back four NOW?. Yesterday's goals were awful ones to concede and neither Batth or Stears can say they they were not to blame.
Golbourne. Links up with Sako far better. On the other side of the pitch however, much closer call between Iorfa and Doherty.
Golbourne all day for me
Golbourne should be our first choice left back no questions asked IF he's 100% fit, shouldn't even be having a debate about it. Scott's the epitome of a modern day full back, solid when defending & also very good overlapping his winger/wide midfielder when attacking (dovetails very well with Sako. Only Kenny & his staff know why he's not in the team if he's fit. Hause, as stated, is a centre half who CAN do a job at full back. For the future we should have a Batth Hause central defensive partnership or maybe even utilise the England U20 partnership of Hause Iorfa (but we'd need to displace our captain for this to happen
Golbourne. Best left back we have had for a very long time. Hause has done well for a youngster breaking through but generally offers little over the half way line.
Golbourne links up so well with Sako. With Golbourne being dropped then injured for a while and Sako off with Mali there have not been enough chances this season to see these 2 linking up. We are now on the countdown to losing Sako and in games like yesterday I feel deprived of one of the few remaining chances to see them playing together.
Jackett is for some reason stubborn to play golbourne. It's like Jacobs , excellent last season but hasn't been given a proper shot this season ; albeit to a much less extent than Jacobs
Because Jacobs is not good enough for this level. He had chances early on the season and in the FA Cup game when we were knocked out his performance was dreadful.
Gives Sako the defensive backup he needs to basically do what he wants. Golbourne & Sako combo far to offensive. Last game Golbourne played the opposition specifically attacking from the right because they knew we were vulnerable.
On the wing a large amount of these
Think there is a lack of balance when Hause plays as offensively sako always has 2 men on him therefore has to go back, or come inside.
Hause has also been targeted , as teams know he is a centre half out of position. It's a position I don't mind who is picked, as I'm happy with both.
Hause struggled to make any decent forward passes first half yesterday when the chance was there. KJ must have been of the same opinion and after the break Hause was trying all kinds of balls into Afobe but they didn't really come off. Golbourne should play if fit I think is the consensus but Hause was/is good. I wonder whether we'll see Hause or Iorfa replacing Batth at any stage, I thought Danny had a shocker at times yesterday. Sloppy back passes, losing possession, poor clearances.
Golbourne at home, everytime. Helps massively in the attacking third
Hause away when we want to stay solid.
I prefer Golbourne, but just like last year with Ricketts, Kenny is starting Hause against the teams that have a taller front line.
