Don't shoot the messenger , no real reliable source but they did tip me off about 1 signing before it happened so could be true.
Apparently we have been offered (on loan) Harry McGuire so Hull can free up some funds for a new striker as that was the stumbling block with Defoe .
Maybe rubbish but sounds feasible as there only fit striker is Sagbo and they are in a relegation battle.
IMHO he looked good in the arsenal cup match

We don't need him IMO. He's a potential upgrade on Batth, but dropping our captain, on this run of form seems a non-starter

Turned us down in the Summer (like Wood) to sit on a Premier League bench, get $$$$ed is my opinion of him

Good player to have around for a potential promotion run in and cover potential injuries and when players are rested

Better prospect than Batth but dropping him as our captain and in decent form would be silly, and considering the great run the defence is on it's a definite no from me

We were offered him a few months back at the same time we took Sagbo, but turned them down then, and that's when we were struggling so would say no chance now.

Whilst he was one of our two big targets in the summer I wonder if the rapid development of Hause, EEL and Iorfa makes him a little less attractive now. That said he is probably better than all of these three at the moment, and possibly a better player than Batth, especially in possession. If we get him with an option to buy if we go up I think he would be a good addition.

As for us turning us down to have a crack at the PL - surely anyone with an iota of ambition would have done the same, and would we want any young player who lacked ambition?

    Disagree - see Ponty
Perhaps, but we have other players for that.

    Yep.

We simply cannot break up a partnership of Batth and Stearman, unless we went with three centre halves.

Definitely not at the moment but injuries and suspensions are inevitable as the games start to come thick and fast.

Why would he leave Hull's bench to sit on ours?

Because he'd be next in line and more likely to keep his place if given the opportunity?

The conundrum I have mentioned in the other thread though regarding signings - why would Hull let him come here to just wait around for an opportunity?

Sounds a complete non starter to me for all the reasons already expressed above. Also once bitten- weve already had one highly unhelpful loan arrangement with Hull so lets not bother with another one eh!

Maybe but if the right deal is not available no reason not to strengthen elsewhere. I guess it depends how our finances are.

Don't want him. He is like Batth, I want centre backs more like Stearman and Iofra.

No way he'd want to leave Hull to sit on out bench, and equally no way Hull would allow him to leave to sit on our bench.

I'd definitely have him here. Quality competition for places never hurt anybody. Stearman and Batth are playing superbly at the moment but they were as well around the time the Summer window closed. If either get injured or suffer a drop in form, it would be great to have quality back-up available.

Would be a good signing. Who's going to come in next time we lose five in a row in a month or so time? We need stronger cover.

If he is happy to come here as first back up for Stearman and Batth then it's a no brainer.

To replace either immediately is a definite no from me.

No thanks, he can stay sat on the bench at Hull, following his dreams obviously.

Funny how the snidey remarks are beginning for Batth now. Somehow he was horrendously responsible for the poor run in November but hints now that the current good run are in spite of him somehow.

He can turn, he isn't particularly slow but for some reason some seem desperate to decry his ability, whether it be passing or defending when in reality it's more than adequate.

Before the positive revelation of Hause and Iorfa, I'd have snapped Maguire up. However now, he can rot in Hulls reserves.

Who ever said Baath was responsible for the November horror show? If you can find evidence of that beyond run of the mill general criticism, then I'll be very impressed indeed.

We don't really loan players without a view for a perm transfer, we have our own players to blood we don't want Hulls or anyone elses for that matter. The strikers were obviously different as we were well short but we have 5 CB's in the matchday squad.
