Steve Bull and Derek Parkin first two inductees - four to follow - from club text.

Odd I thought Billy Wright would be first?

2 of the finest players I have ever seen in a wolves shirt.

Squeak was awesome.... Lets hope they are paraded at a home match

Higest goal scorer and most Wolves appearances. Good place to start.

Should start at the clubs historical foundation in my humble opinion.

Agreed, but as Squeak is part of the player's committee or somesuch, I thought he'd bow out for the first year. Thoroughly deserved, though.

So who does everyone think will get the second vote alongside William Ambrose for the 1945-1960 slot?

Can't separate Peter Broadbent, Johnny Hancock, Jimmy Mullen and Bert Williams myself

And the only one of that era who never signed my autograoph book and looked at me like I should be swotting up my Latin instead of standing in the West Park watching training - bloomin schoolteachers!

I believe he's up for consideration in year 3, along with Oleg Luzhny, Silas, Jamie Clapham and Henri Camara.

I don't know masses about our playing staff from 45-60, I'll be honest, but surely our greatest ever manager Stan Cullis will be a front-runner... we wouldn't have a stand named after him if he wasn't!

Stan Cullis ought to be a shoe-in for 45-60 either as player (early part) or Manager.

I am also pretty sure he is the only player in history to appear in an Olympic's and a World Cup Finals.

With three of our stands named after true Wolves playing or managing legends, fully deserving of the honour, why is the SB named after Jack Harris?

Played an integral part in the club remaining active.

At least part funded Bully's transfer fee.

There are several people who could be honoured

You'd have to say though that if any stand was to get re-named it would be the Jack Harris though. Akin to the John Ireland becoming the Steve Bull.

The Steve Bull isn't named after Jack Harris it's named after Steve Bull! The Jack Harris is named after Jack Harris! :D

Just an aside, and I hope this does not get lost in the general Blurb.

IMHO we should not limit the hall of fame to Players / Managers.

I can think of People that played a part in Wolves survival.

    John Bird.
The board members along with Jack Harris who delved into their own personal pockets to fund the club.
SJH - Who took a crumbling delapidated ground and built a modern (at the time) stadium.

Can anyone else think of non playing side people worthy of a place in the hall of fame.

My Personal choice would be John Bird

I think that the Jack Harris should be renamed personally. Ideally it would be nice to have it after a manager to maintain the balance, although if any corners get filled in, they will probably be named as well I guess? If the JH was going to be renamed, who would you go for?

Too many to choose from but Derek Dougan & John Richards spring immediately to mind. Both had decent playing careers and "did their bit" on the other side of the club.

Good call Glasgow! I remember as a kid going to the social club and the Civic Hall with my dad for the 'save the Wolves' meetings.

Total opposition from the Express and Star to John Bird's efforts it must be pointed out!!! (Well did you really expect any difference?)

    Only played 2 seasons after WW2, so I wouldn't have thought he'd be a shoe-in as a player somehow.

Freddy Eastwood was misunderstood...I for one, understood he was a decent striker when he join the club.

    ..boom boom.

  35. It is open to anyone who has made a significant positive contribution to the club, not just players/managers. EvilJiz wouldn't cut himself out of the running surely?

I never stated that he wasn't. I was just pointing out that as a player, Cullis isn't, IMO, a shoe-in for the period that you suggested.

And I didn't state that he'd be a shoe-in just as a player. Read my post again I said as a player (early part) and Manager. Pack it in correcting every post I make.
