The last two seasons have been what I've been advocating for a long time and I do believe our future (2-3 years) could be better than its been for a long time.

We've moved past over paying for players and have learned from that, we've worked past nervousness of blooding young players, we've embraced giving opportunities to academy players and also we've focused recruitment on young and hungry, technical players and players that we can improve and can improve with our trajectory.

We are academy based in our strategy and I think this is the right way forward. But it does mean that as well as using the academy to populate the first team, we will also have to get used to selling assets. That helps to fund the whole strategy and is part of the future. However, for now we enjoy finally seeing youth being given it's wings within our squad, the quantity and quality is great. I hope we are all enjoying seeing them help us play a new brand of football and we enjoy seeing the hunger, desire and future unfold. Whether we go up this year or not, these are good days and I believe it is so fitting that this is all taking place at the sir jack Hayward training complex. Fitting tribute to our past and future.

It's working for them and could for us. Needs the right men at the hem of the academy abd first team, but I truly hope that the sir jack Hayward training ground can be the source of our future and a prosperous one. Personally I think it will be.
