And now the stupid thread with the stupid question, after a brilliant League win, thoughts, dreams, main goals for next season?

As if nobody remembered yet to post something like this... or not :p

Improve enough for Neves and Nuno to stay another year,
And repeat each year until I die

I'm hoping Neves plays into his forties at least

Only 10th? Come on dream a little bit higher, you aren't going to pay more for your dreams ;)

Just joking, only making this type of question because looking from the outside these next weeks, not to say months will be fuelled by so many stories, speculations, it will be interesting to see how they are planning this return to the top tier.

I think we could finish 7th-8th if we get everything just right.

Realistically get to 40 points then build.

The question here, and this is second guessing, is what are the real expectations from the owners, will Nuno have a major role on the type of players, and the most important question for me isn't only the number of players signed from abroad, I want to see if they will try to sign players already based on England.

Not to mention questions related with keeping the squad emotionally balanced, its part of human nature when there are major changes, someone coming from the outside and everything changing so quickly, sometimes the end result isn't the best.

With the exception of experience, I can't see a reason why, with a bit of investment, we can't be above Bournemouth, Watford, et al.

Nuno and others left the Champions League to start our project.

Behind close doors they have an aim to be there ASAP.

I would seriously be surprised with the murmurings coming out of Wolves and press e.g Johnny Phillips etc if Wolves don’t make a serious attempt to break the top 6.

Currently it may sound unrealistic, but when those first transfer go through, who knows.

With this current squad asnit is. Easily between 7th - 12th.

With the squad you already have its not unrealistic to expect at least top 10 like Newcastle atm. Hopefully they don't bring a lot of new players, might sound crazy, but it might be a bit disruptive regarding the harmony between the older and new players.

Spot on, winning the League Cup gives a chance to play the Europa League?

A bit off topic but today I was watching here in Portugal some old footage on RTP, our equivalent to BBC, where they talked a bit about Wolves, Nuno, also the 2 guys there mentioned some old stories regarding Wolves and European football.

Agreed, need to match there ambitions for them to stay. Personally would be happy with top 10, would be sick to finish 7th

Leicester and Burnley have proven teamwork can prevail, so when we got that in abundance, a high level of skill and tight defence...

...and before transfer window, 3rd is dreamable...coz...

Spurs are becoming yearly failure and new stadium syndrome next season...

Arsenal are poor now let alone without Wenger,

Chelsea are naff and probably without Conte,

Man U will be with Mourinho but with another rebuild, ( would u want Pogba or Sanchez in a Wolves team, on their current form?...Rashford yes,)...

Liverpool cannot play on dry pitches, per Klopp v WBA....and rely on Salah+...but amidfield of Henderson, Milner....please!

Hoping Costa will be our Salah
Afobe like his old mate Kane
    Jota like David
    Cav like Sane
Neves... just be Neves...no one EPL to compare to

So, why not dare to dream 3rd as doable..

April last year, 3rd this season was not even a dream or a hope in hell chance...

But this April, after having watched the turgid tosh of most EPL games with an more than a passing interest...dreaming 3rd place is based on being a Nuno/Fosun year wiser on what will happen b4 deadline day.

This season we played 5 matches against EPL, with mainly squad players, lost one, only conceded 2(one Ricky Villa' esque)...and should a beat the EPL runaway champs on their own turf.

"Sweet dreams are made of this, who of you will disagree..."

    To misquote Annie Lennox

Top 10 next season, top six the year after, and a major trophy in the next 3 years. Realistically.

Half the Premier League probably share the same ambitions, but I think we will have the resources and expertise to make it.

They aren’t rumours. They’re murmurings. Kind of like a whisper.

And they are that Wolves are going to be going for it straight from the off now they’ve been promoted.

Current squad: 12-14th (I think we’re currently at a similar level to Fulham so thinking where I would place them).

With big investment in the Summer, 7-10th.

Agreed, but given the ambition, I suspect that is probably the minimum expectation Fosun have on Nuno and the team next season. It’s not Jeff’s style to come out and say that, and sensible too, but I’m sure Nuno knows what’s expected of him.

Man Coty will be stronger as will Man Utd.
Liverpool with be better for Keita but can’t sort their defence.
Spurs will be tough to beat.

After that you’ve got clubs in rebuild, Arsenal Chelsea and Everton.

While I think we will struggle to get that high it’s a weak league currently.

I’d say 7th but maybe 6th if Arsenal do a Man Utd and replace Wenger poorly.

It’s hard to really guess without seeing who we bring in, who other teams sign ect. Just can’t wait to see who we bring in this summer because I’m hoping there will be some very exciting signings

I don’t see us breaking the elite as some are saying, I do believe Fosun will want that but ultimately will struggle to get the calibre of player straight away. We’ve got enough/will sign enough to be well clear of the bottom three though I think. 11th I’ll go for

I've said that really, my only expectation and hope is that we don't go up and just become one of them teams who are happy just to stop up. I think it's really important that we do stay up and build slowly, definitely, but I'd like to think our owners, manager and players are a bit more ambitious than just finishing one above the bottom three.

I have no doubt that Fosun have ambitions of at least top 6.
Hopefully the additions they make will fit in with the team spirit that we've seen throughout this season

Much as I would love a top ten or even top half, we don’t know who will be here next year, how they will fare in the prem or how they will respond to prob not winning most weeks. First priority is to stay up and build from there. Let’s be positive, optimistic but also realistic.

Definitely, and that's good to hear! I'm not really keen on the idea of like picking a position and saying, "I'd like us to finish there!", because it don't really mean anything without any context. So like, right now I could say, yeah, I want Wolves to finish 11th next year, but really, what happens if say at Christmas we're 3rd, and then drop away after it, suddenly 11th don't look so good! Same as if we finished 13th but won the FA Cup, that's a better season than 11th, but because we didn't finish as high as I wanted, it's gotta be seen as a disappointment! See what I mean? I just wanna go up and enjoy it! I've loved every minute of this season (apart from 45 at Villa Park maybe!), and I want the same next year!

40 points and build. In all honesty, I'd love us to win a cup but the first bit is more important than anything else.
