Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the Early Bird prices usually published by now ? In the past they have had to be paid by the middle of March and I'm sure we've hadover a month to ponder.

Ifit comes out this weekwe could have a major paper chase on our hands on Saturday.....

....or has our leader thought better of it ?

Why is everyone pre-occupied about the early bird? It's a chance for
season ticket holders to renew early and get a discount for their
loyalty. I can't see why people see it as some kind of guage of fans
feelings, that's not what it's about. Financially, the club would
benefit most if there were no season ticket holders at all and then
they could sell the ground out every game. Selling season tickets loses
the club money and selling early bird tickets loses the club even more
    money.

If people want to cut off their noses to spite their face, that is up
to them. If you are going to go and watch Wolves every home game, get a
season ticket and if they give you a discount, get the early bird.
Sound advice from someone that goes to very few games and pays more
than an early bird season ticket holder.

Edit: excellent typo with a biblical reference there.

Any existing season ticket holder who does not renew under early bird must fall into one of the following categories:

    (1) has no intention of renewing for next year

    (2) is an idiot who intends to renew but is cutting off their nose to spite their face by renewing laer at more cost to them.

    (3) forgot to renew by dedaline

    (4) cant afford to renew with a single payment and so will pay moe later but in installments. I've heard people on MM say they fall into this category...but surely its cheaper to renew at early bird price and get loan off bank.

I'm sure there are other reasons, but Ireckon by far the vast majorityof people who dont take up early bird are in (1) and so early bird take-up is a big indication of next seasons ticket sales.

In terms of moxey perfering people not to take up early bird...that assumes people will still pay on the day for majority of matches. This depends very much on how the team is doing.

So I.Dif,say,a thirdof the current number of season ticket holders didn't renew during the early bird scheme it wouldn't be an indication of supporters feelings? What nonsense.

i dont think the bank would sanction a loan for someone to pay their season ticket off. they'd more than likely phone the man in white coats than hand over their cash at the moment

Or perhaps you could re-mortgage instead so you'd be paying for Hoddle's glorious brand of football over a 20 year term.[IMG]

I think it's a fair bet that club doesn't lose money by selling season tickets. If it was only possible to pay on the day then we would have struggled to have reached five figures yesterday, and the club would almost certainly be forced to lower matchday prices to attract fans back. This was something we were discussing after the game yesterday. £15 for a ticket now isn't too bad, but if we had to pay £23 every game, then personally I would probably all but stop going, and I don't think I'm alone in this.

The club needs seats blindly sold in advance as much as the fans need the discounts to be able to afford it these days.

Last season Moxey said that traditionally SJH has insisted on it as a "thank you for your loyalty" etc.... but he also said that it would ensure that the finance was already in place for all signings to be made before the squad returned for pre-season.
I resisted because i don't trust their words anymore.....but gave in when Hoddle extended because i thought after 8 months of drawing games he'd have his targets lined up waiting to sign on the dotted line rather than messing about with the load of overpaid pish that Jones had left behind [IMG][IMG]

There are some people posting on this thread who must seriously enjoy
paying more than they need to. This is as simple as I can make an
    example.

You are buying a car in September and already have the money in full.
The garage tells you that if you pay up front in July you can have
£2000 off, if you pay in September you can have £1000 off and if you
pay in installments after that it will cost you full price. If you have
the money to pay, then you would take the £2000 off. You would be a
complete moron not to. It doesn't matter if the manager at the garage
has p!$*ed you off, you are going to buy the car anyway so you might as
    well save money.

That's as simple as I can make it, if you've got the money and get
offered the early bird, then you would be stupid not to take it up. If
you are not intending to renew at all, that is a different matter. If
you want to make some kind of protest, then e-mail Moxey or demonstrate
outside the ground. Not taking up the early bird is costing you
    money.

    BTW 19th holer,

if the club gets more money by having it earlier and gets interest on
it from the bank, that's a double bonus. The club gets more money and a
bank pays it instead of the fans. I'd love to see the fans pay less and
the bank to subsidise them to do it, it's a win, win situation.

ID , does the car have any sort of guarantee? If you
paid for it all up-front and it failed to get you from A to
B and in fact seemed to be permanently stuck in
reverse, with the fan on full, blowing cold air in your
face and the radio stuck on full blast on
Wombournes carp techo music - then you may wish
you had taken the option to pay per journey.Edited by: westlyNTR

Even if Hoddle is in charge next season I'll be taking advantage of the early bird offer and renewing my season ticket.

It saves me money. Simple really, isn't it????
