Fractured his cheek bone ,apparently.
Obviously he's got gonna be best pleased personally, but pretty irrelevant to Wolves really, he won't play for us again. He's below Craddock in the pecking order and even he might struggle to get another game. Only way it affects us is if they send him back..
Sounds like it was a bad one - last night was one rotten night for us and injuries!!!
WARD DETAINED IN HOSPITAL Wed 26 Nov 2008DARREN Ward has been taken to hospital this evening (Tuesday) with a suspected fracture to his cheek, coupled with suspected concussion.Late in the game Ward appeared to rise for a challenge with Dele Adebola, who is alleged to have struck the defender with his arm.Ward left the field immediately and has been taken to hospital where he will be monitored overnight, having also been left with a cut under his left eye that saw him withdrawn immediately by Mackay.
The manager for the night said: "He's not okay. He's gone to hospital to have an x-ray on his face."I felt that it certainly wasn't the guy's head that hit Darren's cheek and I made my feelings known to the referee."After the game he [the referee] has apologised and said he made a mistake. It's a possible fractured cheekbone."I have a good medical staff and they have been looking after him since the minute he was taken off the pitch."It's been as well looked after as I think it could be, he's not our player and we've got to make sure we take care of him as if he is our player"Ward is currently on loan from Wolves and is due to return to Molineux after this weekend's home fixture against Doncaster Rovers.
Might not be a big deal for our first team but hope he makes a speedy recovery for his own sake
Swift recovery Darren, hope all is well
Best wishes on the recovery Darren.
Bad timing for him - new guy at Watford just getting his feet under the table and may look elsewhere for a centre-half.
Hope it works out for him.
Nasty injury for a pretty boy. Best wishes, Daz.
