Absolutely awful and the only consistent in our team.
Cav much much much much much worse today.
Costa the only player to play wide who has not been awful when they started .
Yes he’s played more but Cav was diabolical today , yet for some reason you pick out costa. Didn’t create anything but nothing really went for him . He did the basics right which the others seem incapable when given the opportunity to start
Cav was poor today but he has two goals in less games. Costa has bugger all assists and goals and should have been dropped weeks ago.
Difficult to support his stats but chopping and changing is no good .
Right so certain players are undropable? That sends a really ****ty message to the rest of the squad.
I would love to know what basic he did well. Costa mostly stayed marked, frequently lost the ball when he had it, didn't move for other players didn't look like creating anything. Didn't really look like beating anybody.
Didn't come in to midfield to help out, didn't really close people down properly. As bad as he's been for us.
Others much worse. Not individuals fault today but nunos unfortunately
I don't think so. I think he was the worst on the park today. Offered nothing.
To be fair to Cav, that’s his first really poor game of the season. Helder has struggled for consistency. Has had a couple of superb games but also 2 or 3 absolute stinkers and looked very lightweight today.
I think Traore can feel quite hard done by to have only had one start so far.
Not having a pop but no one started a thread saying how brilliant he was after Arsenal (which he was btw).
Today was just an awful awful team performance no one gets credit and not sure it’s worth picking out individuals. If we were then there’s a few worse than Costa today
A shadow of the player he was before his injury.
Not good enough for this level based on his performances this season. Could obviously still improve but he looks well off the pace so far.
I’m keeping it on topic
What basics did costa do right today??
Watch his performances against the Top 6...
Then watch his performances against the rest of the League. Either the lad needs a massive slap round the chops or he needs ****ing off.
None of Costa, Cav or Jota have made the step up yet.
We can argue their potential all day long, but in a harsh league, none of them are shining.
My gut says keep Cav to bring off the bench with his power and shooting ability, Jota/Costa, neither could moan if they were replaced in January.
Costa was awful, Cav was bad, Jota the absolute worst lollll
Costa was, at best, no better than Cav
Should be playing on the left of the front 3 in my opinion.
If you mean Costa, and l believe that you do, I fully agree.
No one had a good game. They all need to be stronger and stay on their feet though as you are not going to change the game sat on your backside.
Zippola, nada, nowt...
I'm getting a little bit concerned about the desire of Costa. Does he believe his own hype?
From memory, his best performances came at home against City, away at Arsenal, his 2nd half against Spurs and away at Old Trafford.
His pass completion rate must have been in single figures.
Nobody started a thread about how **** he was against Watford either. He has been superb for about 4 halves of football this season. 4 out of 26 is atrocious.
Its time he was benched simple as, he was better than Cav only because Cav had a stinker, I think over the 90 minutes he took on and beat his man once, I would definately bench warm him against Cardiff, and possibly add MGW to support M&N...
You could make this thread about any of our players today.
It wasn't Costa's bad pass that set up Huddersfields first goal out of nothing.
When he runs off after he gives the ball to doc he's not exactly finding space is he?
Traore deserves a run in the team.
Yes, he's not as reliable defensively but he's the most exciting player we have.
Cav and Costa played themselves out of the team today IMO, Jota and Traore vs Cardiff.
Amazing how quickly everything falls apart. Thoughts of a 50,000 seat stadium seem ridiculous, let alone top ten - which we all thought was doable this season.
There's something about Wolves over the last fifty years that screams:
"It will never work!!!"
Far too good for the championship but not quite up to it at this level. Same with Cav
Not for where we want to be
Disagree about Cav. I think he's got that little bit more quality where it counts.
No surprises with Costa's performance today.
We got the typical lightweight display.
Way short of Premiership standard I'm afraid.
Cavaleiro played like he had hands for feet today. Absolutely ****ing shocking.
Costa largely poor.
Traore charging everything down but every floated cross looks like a fluke and every time he tries to pass five yards it misses his intended target.
Jota looked okay.
**** knows what the answer is. I think Jota should start on Friday.
Costa is flakey, so is Cav unfortunately so is Jota this season and Traore hasn't been given a chance.
In such a critical position you need someone who will get a good return but these guys are good one game, **** another. Not enough when they're all like that.
Sorry but Costa and Cav both total ****e today. Nowhere near good enough on todays showing.
I thought cav started pretty well again was the best of a bad bunch in the front 3. His performance got worse as the team performance did. The one difference between him and costa is that if cav looses the ball he does try and win it back, costa doesn't.
Have you seen MOTD highlights.. Costa was question for what he was doing standing outside of the wall at free kick Huddersfield scored from. If he’d have been standing next to Neves which he should have been. They would not have scored.
You can’t single out anyone today, everyone was well below par. We’ve made Huddersfield look like ****ing Brazil.
Nuno should single out Costa when they review dvd replay.. For that situation with wall that caused the mistake to concede one of the goals! If you don't single out there we will never improve as Nuno always wants!
You could probably single out each and every one of the Wolves players as most made mistakes during this match not just Costa!
I appreciate my post was below yours but I was addressing the thread in general not your point.
As said Costa was no worse than Bennett, Doherty, Boly, Caveliero, Moutinho, that goal shy **** up front who still couldn’t shoot when he cheated his way through.
Have you not seen the Wolves wall for that second Huddersfield goal. They may as well of had 6 in wall.. 3 & 3 with big cap in middle and say...
Go on then have a free shot at goal through the cap in the middle! Or no wall at all with Costa's positioning.
Separate names with a comma.
