Off topic I know but wondered what other fans thought. I have seen this stamp several times now and don't think it was intentional to me it looked like he turned and started to chase the ball and not realising the Liverpool player leg was in the way stood on his leg am I the only one who thinks this

At the time I thought his 2nd stamp looked more deliberate than the 1st one

I think it's a case of his reputation going before him.

It looked like it could have been just an accident so he should have gotten away with it, imo.

I've almost got enough stamps on my loyalty card for a free coffee, yeah.

Obviously he is a great player, but he is a horrible guy on the pitch.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTeVf0I_JmA

Collymore tweeted this link the other night, some of the stuff he does here against Ramos is disgusting.

I'll add I think it was a red card, he intentionally stood/stamped on Can and Skrtel in my book. Maybe his reputation before him, but I also think it deserves to go before you in some cases, and this is certainly something he would have done on purpose and I think the 3 game ban is certainly justified.

The one I saw was in no way a "stamp". He stepped on him yes, but with little downward pressure. The Liverpool player writhed around till Rogers had a word and he then sprang up none the worse.

Still sets an interesting prededent for the next player to accidentally step on someone.

Agree, not a stamp a mere step on. Not convinced it was really intentional either. At worst it was a yellow if and only if you were certain it was intentional.
Can could have been booked for over reaction.

Ultimately only he really knows as both intentional and accidental can be argued either way, but neither with an overwhelming degree of certainty.

I thought they both looked deliberate, the second moreso than the first. I think he could easily have avoided landing on the player both times if he had wanted to. Surprised the FA only charged him over one instance.

If you look at his eyes then he is looking down ( not forward ) he would of seen the players ankle in his vision.

    Definitely stamped.

I thought if you got sent off, your ban can only come into play in games after 7 days after the event took place, thus he should be eligible for man city? Am I wrong on this or does the league cup not count in this instance, or are fa making rules up as they go along?

Don't think it was deliberate although no denying Costa does like to get stuck in.

LFC have made a mountain of the issue and Rodgers has banged his drum.

I have to confess, that despite watching lots of football on tv and watching Sky Sports News etc, i have not seen any of these incidents! I don't like Chelsea, Mourinho is a $$$$ and Costa is a nasty little scrote, so I am pleased!!

Don't know how people are saying it wasn't a stamp. He moved his foot away from natural running direction, towards the player!

He trod on him but it ain't a stamp....whether it was deliberate the first looks deliberate, the second looks like he is trying to avoid him

Now we know why they wear gloves, 1-26 and again later so not a one off and an act of forethought rather than immediate passion.

If he gets spotted doing that in England it should be a season ban, IMO.

Are you asking, assuming or dictating that's the case?

I have clearly said Costa likes to get stuck in so I certainly don't see him as a saint but LFC have enough of their own who like to dish it out so I find Rodgers bleating a bit hypocritical.

Just watch how Skrtel performs to see a dirty player and he isn't the only one.

The first definitely intentional, the whole shape of his leg movement is unnatural. Unsure on the second.

They were all intentional, hes a dirty $$$$$$$, 1 game ban would have been sufficient, 3 games might make him think twice about doing it again.

Pepe is also a nasty player but (not too excuse him) he is pretty up front about it, he boots you and you know what you get, Ramos is no angel you are right, but again he is more for bad tackles, he IMO is nowhere near as bad as Pepe or Costa.

And very few players in the world I can think of are as nasty as that video shows, spitting in your gloves to throw it at someone!!

I think the guy is off his head, every game he wants a fight and as we have seen has an evil, sinister, despicable edge to his game that over steps the mark on too many occasions.

Ban comes in straight away, it's usually the appeal that delays it.
