Anyone think Chris Porter would be worth a shout?
Could do a job
No. From what I have seen of him he looks like a carthorse
23 goals in 37 appearances. Out of contract would probably cost around 400k
Gail Porter perhaps. Chris Porter, I'm not so sure.
Oldham fans don't rate him that much looking on their message boards yesterday.
Though like many others without actually seeing him play, I thought he'd be worth a shout, given his goals and seeing him om the Championship!!
Almost a full house now
Could do a job, celeb with same surname just need someone to ask if he is both young and hungry
No from seeing him play I thought he was no better than Leon Clarke.
Porter? Fits in the young and hungry category. But nowhere near as good as Sharp. Not that I've seen either of them live.
Both a risk and a much cheaper one.
I claim my £5
It was a fix. You're barred.

Middlesbrough are understood to be weighing up a move for Oldham's Chris Porter.
The highly-rated striker, who bagged an impressive 23 goals last season, is out-of-contract at Boundary Park.
The Latics have offered Porter fresh terms, but he could opt to move on - although Oldham would be able to claim compensation as he is under 24.(there we go)
Boro were understood to be keen on Luke Varney - who moved to Charlton from Crewe earlier this month - and now the Teesside club could again turn to League One for a new striker.
Middlesbrough's attack may need significant bolstering with the futures of both Mark Viduka and Yakubu Aiyegbeni far from certain.
Now it is believed Gareth Southgate could be tempted into making a move for Porter, although there are a number of other clubs monitoring his situation.
Bristol City were strongly linked over the weekend, whilst the likes of Bolton, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday are also said to be keeping close tabs on the 23-year-old
Will that do?
How come everyone(most anyway)is so sure that Porter isn´t the striker that Sharp is?
Not that many goals that separates the two-and Porter producing his goals in a worse team?
There is a HUGE difference in pricetag though.
I am sure because unlike most i've seen him play
Right,that is fair enough Jamboon.
You gotta think that Sharp will be able to make the step to Championshipfootball that much better than Porter then.
Cause in Leauge One,they performed a pretty similar result.
Porter looked poor when i saw him play.
TBH i'm not sure if Sharp will be a sucess or not but given his goalscoring record, what I have seen of him and the fact MM clearly rates him as a player I hope we get him.
As for Porter regardless of his goalscoring record, from what I have seen of him he is not a player I think we should be looking at and so far It doesn't seem we are.
I think we've gone beyond him now. He'll probably attract interest from a lower Championship club but that's all
