Has joined till the end of the season
Surprised after Notts C wanted him back. Drops a division. On the plus side he could be in a team pushing for promotion.
Out of contract in the summer I think.
Looked great at one point but I think that miss v Bristol City did his Wolves career in tbh.
Goodluck to him
Signed a new one-year contract at Wolves this season (with an option for a further year)
Keep your eye on him.
good move for him getting games in team challenging top end of the league
end career for wolves
made that new contract look even more strange imo
if he would hit it off like afobe we could lost out big time
if he crap we still paying wages for year
I'm probably on my own but I think he looks a decent player... He needs a big half a season now.
Time to prove yourself now Jake, son.
L2 seems more his level, but you never know.
I have to admit Lefty, I though his contract was up at the end of this season and much as I like the lad, I thought that would be the end of his Wolves career. I have a suspicion that the lad is another Sam Vokes in the making. I know that Kenny was very complimentary about the lad last season but it seems to me that he will never really get the opportunity at Wolves and too many of the nay sayers are only too eager to give the lad a hard time if and when he appears in a Wolves shirt again.
He will never be another Vokes. By the time vokes was 18 he was good enough to play a few minutes at championship level and could score goals. By the time vokes was Cassidys age he was a Championship level striker already and had 100 odd appearances at that level and had Wales caps. Cassidy isn't in league 2 and can't score a goal. He is not good enough.
I think with the players going out on loan, the ball is very much in their court. They will have seen for themselves that Kenny does give young players an opportunity, and he's not averse to calling people back from loan spells and putting them in the team (Hause, McAlinden, Price).
Big few months for him.
Hope he does really well, that can only be a good thing for him & Wolves.
I needs to do well for himself as he'll be getting no extension on his contract at wolves imo
Dan, after our Championship season Vokes went through a very lean spell over two seasons. The general consensus here was he was not good enough and should be moved on. Of course since his departure he has consistently played at a level higher than Wolves but what the heck. As for Cassidy I accept he has not been consistent at the level Vokes played at put the lad is 20/21 years of age and has plenty of time to develop. I'm consistently surprised at how quickly posters on this website get critical of our younger players. It is good for instance that McAlinden has gone back to Fleetwood. He didn't perform up to scratch the other evening. So what? Even more experienced players struggle when they get back into the team after an extended or enforced absence - Doherty appears to be struggling currently, though the fact he is playing out of position is probably not helping him either.
Don't understand how you can compare Vokes and Cassidy, one looked a decent player in the Championship at worst while the other looked dreadful in League 1.
Another young striker that need good service to shine it takes all sorts, I personally have never seen him have a good game but it seems he did well on his first loan to tranmere and there fans loved him, it did't quite work out on first team apperences or his more recent loan spells but I do belive these young palyers can come good with maturity.
Seems a regressive move for me - even if he does really well, it still wouldn't really wet the appetite to give him a go in our first team.
Suggests to me that we are winding down his contract by filling it with interim loan deals, which is probably wise as ultimately I don't think he'll ever cut the mustard for us - though of course I'd love to be proven wrong.
