Just leaving on the buses so thought I'd start it off. Never one for individual ratings, but I'd give us an overall 6. Ordinarily a draw at Brighton is a good result. However, if they could finish we would have lost three one comfortably. Didn't really get going except fits and starts in both halves.

The formation in the first half didn't work, admittedly I was one row from the front so my view was $$$$e, but was henry meant the be playing the no 10 role? If so it didn't work at all for me and I think we looked better going 442 at the end. All that being said we could and probably should have won it at the end when sako had it on a plate.

Brighton as a club and stadium......sSuperb. Real family feel and some nice touches in the concourse for wolves fans etc very good advert for family football. Shame as results went our way today. Roll on Tuesday.

We seem to be stuck in 8th. position in the league! A point gained is no disgrace away from home.

  8. Listened to comms. Sounded a drab affair with not much quality. We're averaging one good performance every three and there seems a reluctance to play our best eleven. Are they not fit enough? Still doable, but we are gliding into a seventh/eighth and I suspect our lads will be on the beach with two games to go. Shame it's not wobbly (but very ambitious in terms of signings ) Derby on Tuesday as I think Sheff Wed will give us a game.

... Calamity at the back for their goal. Very poor.

    Greg Halford,

"Unfortunately I never really had that chance which was more down to off the field issues than what I could do on the pitch. I did everything I could to persuade Mick to pick me, I was the first in the building for training, the last out, and I did extra training but it was not to be"

Well said arctic, and great support from yourself travelling down from the Oldham area.

  11. That's actually quite funny - the poor creature. Hasn't really done much since - suppose Mick knocked his confidence.

Beige Ken keeps going on about us being positive. And yet we are anything but.

The players must be ignoring his expansive, attacking game plan....

Still in it that's the main thing. 2 lost IMO which could prove costly come te end of season, but today, I'm satisfied with being 3 off play offs.

6 of next 2 is required, 4 I don't think is enough considering the games we have left compared to brentford.

Just got back as only live a short distance from the Amex.

Reasonably happy with a point, but we were so close to nicking all three at the end when their keeper made a great save from Sacko.

I thought the first twenty minutes we struggled to retain possession and KJ switching Sako to the right side meant we started to get in the game more.

Good performances From Mcdonald, Hause and Stearman. Not so good from Kuszak, as i thought he could have done better with their goal.

We did look so much more of a threat with two strikers and i really hope KJ goes with this option in the future.

Wolves fans magnificent away support as usual.

How did Kayal play for them?

Seen him since his Celtic days and to me would have been the perfect midfielder for us in January.

First half a dull, tepid performance by wolves allowing Brighton too much space in midfield but they never really looked like scoring from the opportunities they created. We came into the game towards the end but apart from an effort from Mcdonald i cant really remember much else .

I felt the bloke in the half time interval on the pitch summed it up well/diplomatically calling it a 'cagey affair'.

Second half was much better; quicker and at times end to end.Never thought they would score but once they did it seemed to kick-start us into real action and we deserved to score.

At the end i was quietly confident we would score the winner but i suppose it was a fair result.

Performances wise i thought the back four all did well.Especially Hause who seems more composed on the ball.Have to say i cant wait for Ikeme to come back in now.

Midfield Mcdonald was ok at times but Price was a little subdued today came more into in second half.

Both VP and Sako were poor for me.Sako doesnt really do enough and VP is pacey and can play quite well at times is just so frustrating to watch.

Henry was playing a sort of number 10 role which seem to confuse him as much as us watching. He is much better out on wing. Afobe had some nice touches but was generally quiet throughout.

I think bringing on Dicko made a massive difference to the team.

Support was excellent and a general thumbs up for stadium and facilities just getting away is the pain.

Just a pity Sako didnt tuck that last chance away to make it an excellent day.

A strange game to judge, as it was fairly even, yet I think we did more to win the game than they did. In that sense I would argue it's two points dropped. Looking at our remaining fixtures (Derby, Middlesbrough, Ipswich, Leeds, Forest), going to Brighton who were what, 17th(?) before the game, realistically it was one we needed to win. But, going a goal down with 20 to go, and the fact that both Brentford and Ipswich haven't picked up any points this weekend, mean there are at least some positives to gain from the draw.

I was surprised to see Kenny name an unchanged line-up for the game. I wouldn't have necessarily dropped anyone following the Watford game, but Kenny has had a habit this season of making like for like changes, regardless of the previous result.

The game started fairly evenly, Mackail-Smith had a couple of half chances, a header and a shot he dragged wide. It was us, however, who had the first clear chances. We broke quickly, and Afobe found himself through on goal. He opted for power, but could only find the legs of Stockdale. The ball rebounded to Sako, but his well struck shot was hacked clear off the line by a recovering defender. McDonald was off target with two efforts from the edge of the box, and we looked the more threatening in possession. I thought we used the space pretty well to attack, but my criticism would be that we played too much in front of Brighton. They sat pretty deep, and it would have been more condusive to scoring had we attempted to break in behind quicker. I think too often we allowed them to get back behind the ball and defend. Both Sako and VLP had the pace to get behind the full backs, but didn't do it often enough.

I don't think we played as well second half as we did in the first. We were far more sloppy in possession, countless times we lost it on the edge of their box, opening ourselves up to the counter attack. We got away with it once, when Mackail-Smith was deemed offside when he finished a sweeping move. However, shortly afterwards we fell behind. We failed to clear our lines, and the ball eventually fell to Bruno, the marauding full back. His shot was low and accurate, but was by no means unstoppable. However, Kuszczak seemed to dive over the top of it, allowing it to squeeze and squirm under him for 1-0.

Thankfully, it only took a few minutes for us to restore parity. Following some good build up, Van La Parra found himself in a crossing position. His low cross may have taken a deflection, as Stockdale found himself wrong footed, and could only palm the ball into the net. It will go down as Van La Parra's goal, but I very much doubt he meant it.

We came closest to winning the game, with a succession of chances blocked and saved, most notably when good work from substitute Dicko found Sako, who cracked a first time shot, which was destined for the far corner until Stockdale got a hand to it to turn it wide. We finished the game with a spell of 3 corners in a row, with Batth and Afobe both sending efforts over the bar.

In all, I don't feel we did enough to win the game, but arguably could have, given the chances we managed to create towards the end. We perhaps lacked a bit of tempo at times, that incisive counter attacking of recent weeks was missing, and we didn't play enough defence splitting passes.

    Ratings:

Kuszczak- 5. Awful mistake for their goal, he really, really ought to be saving that sort of shot. Haven't seen a replay, so I will cut him some slack if it proves there was a hefty deflection or bobble, but if not, it's a pretty rotten piece of goalkeeping. Other than that he didn't have a lot to do, claimed a couple of crosses and made one save from a Mackail-Smith header.

Doherty- 6. Thought he had a decent first half, but a very poor second half. Defensively he was pretty much untroubled, meaning he spent most of his time going forward. First half he offered good support, and he did that in the second half too. But, he lost possession with a careless pass on numerous occasions, normally he's very composed on the ball, but today he was very inconsistent.

Batth- 7. Solid enough game, got caught under one high ball, but won most of the duels with Mackail-Smith, and went close to winning the game late on when his shot was deflected over.

Stearman- 8-MotM. Decent game, didn't have an awful lot to do, but did it well. Brought the ball out of defence well, and made some important challenges and blocks.

Hause- 7. The occasional shaky moment, but coped well in the main.

Price- 7. Kept things simple and tidy, with some very good movement off the ball.

McDonald- 7. Not as effective as recent weeks, but kept things moving forward, carried it well, but some of his passing went astray.

Van La Parra- 5. Aside from the cross which went in, his end product today was dreadful. He had so much possession in attacking areas, yet I'm struggling to think of an opportunity we created from one of his crosses/passes.

Henry- 6. Quite game in the number 10 role, showed a few nice touches first half, was the game tended to pass him by.

Sako- 6. Bit of a mixed game. Always looked a threat, but tended to lay the ball off instead of trying the cross or shot. Came close to scoring twice with low efforts.

Afobe- 7. Worked hard, didn't have much service, but still forced two excellent saves from Stockdale. He's a player I really enjoy watching, as he always seems to be in the game, even when he's not getting a regular supply of passes/crosses.

    Subs:

Dicko- 6. Chased things down well, but didn't get a sniff of goal. Set up Sako's late chance with some good persistence.

Kenny- 7. Pleased to see him refrain from making unnecessary changes. Don't think I can question the tactics, it was just the tempo which was lacking slightly.

Referee (Mr Kettle) 7. Thought he had a very good game, allowed things to flow, and only issued cards when necessary. And the added bonus, after last week, he was actually able to keep up with play!

Just too tentative for me.Kj needs to be more positive.

Kuczszak is a liability -hope ikeme is back soon.

Rvlp and sako dont seem quite switched on.

Afobe is class but should have scored

    Rest were workmanlike .

All in all a fantastic day, atmosphere after the game in the bar and on train back to Brighton was brilliant. Thought the policing throughout the day was excellent, joined in the fun on train back to Brighton! One of the best away days for a while, shame the performance was so "average".

Converseley, it's the only reason he scraped a '5'. The whole team was very average yesterday, I thought there was a lack of drive and energy.

We have been like that recently. Motivation doesn't seem as high at the moment , not sure why. When you pause the goal when van la parra shot or crossed, only dicko was in the box . We were 1 0 down!

    Brighton Away

Great day out to the Amex, friendly bunch of fans, live music playing outside, police and stewards were friendly too.

First half, I thought on the whole they played in our half and our defence coped really well, all four of them.

Second half, we took the game to them more but a draw in reflection is probably a fair result although we created more scoring chances.

    Scores on the door

Thomas 4 sorry but he should have saved that! He did not have a lot to do he was well sheltered by the defence and what he had to do he flapped at.

Doc 6 a good outlet and linked up well with the wingers, his end delivery is better than RVP....

Batth 7 Solid at the back, blocked, headed, tackled and was generally strong at the back

Stears 8 MOTM Mopped up any danger at the back, speed when needed, put his body on the line, good game

Hause 7 Good game for Hause, played well, stuck to his task defended well

Price 5 thought he had a poor game, not really in it and made no impact on the game

KMac 6 had a tougher task with Price going missing, always an outlet but again the midfield tended to get over run

Van la Parra 4 flatters to deceive, he is lightweight in the tackle or on the ball, his deliveries are $$$$ poor, the goal was another $$$$ poor cross that got lucky, should have been subbed instead of Henry

Henry 5 I think he is better on the wing rather than the critical role of a number 10.

Sako 6 a bit hit and miss, not many of his runs today but a couple of good strikes, one at the end would have sealed it

Afobe 8 takes up great positions, had a great strike on target which caused a great save from their goalie first half

    Sub

Dicko 7 caused them problems, lively and set up Sako right at the end...

Kenny 6 time to bench Van la Parra and send him to the gym to man the $$$$ up

Ref 8 Let the game flow, was even handed, firm with players

Crowd 9 Fantastic away support, travelled in numbers and backed the team
