If you peel back all the layers to this story there's probably just a bloke who really wants to play football again. I think Kenny's been reticent previously to throw him into the 'bomb squad' as I get the feeling that if he could get fit again, he's the type of player Kenny would want in the first team squad. I doubt whether he ever will be "fully fit" again though.

I still don't think we've handled this whole "Bomb squad" thing well at all. It's been a pretty embarrassing episode all around IMO.

    Disagree.

I think we've done what every club threatens to do and none of em ever do, "let em rot in the reserves".

Employees like Roger and J'Oh have been knocked down a peg or 2.

Good on Morgan for sticking to his guns

Not sure that there is a need for the bomb squad now. Why can't they just train with everyone else?

As far as I'm aware it's only ever been the media who have used the term 'bomb squad', no one from a professional capacity at the club has, always "Group 3" if anything. I'm surprised we still have a bomb squad, 18 months on from when Kenny first came in, I'd argue that Jez should have pushed for permanent deals last season, rather than allowing most of them to leave on loan. It was only a temporary solution in that sense.

I agree that the whole thing has been distasteful. Players who probably caused unrest and deserved to be bombed out, mixed in with those who we simply couldn't afford to keep and had to learn to live without (not that any of them was a great loss). However the club has moved on without them, shifted out nearly all of them without going into financial meltdown and become a decent Champ side based on some players being paid far less and caring far more.

So although I feel a bit sorry for some of them (without knowing the real ins and outs) I think it was a solution to the issues we had. Not really sure what the logic of Boukari joining the group would be though. Sounds like they are looking for a role for Hodge anyway to me.

They are more than likely having to put Boukari in the bomb squad just to keep him fit, and not match fit. He is too fragile. He might get Ikeme'd with the other group!

Are we the only football club to have a so called 'Bomb Squad' or what's left of it?

It's proved to be a very expensive farce

Boukari isn't going into the bomb squad.
See Nash's latest tweets. He will be in first team squad and trains next week.

If he got fit, he could be what helps us into the play offs. Unfortunately, that looks unlikely, and with how much football he has missed, will he be the same player he was before? I feel genuinely sorry for him and for us. It all could have been so different.

It's worked out nicely in hindsight, looks like he may just about get himself fit in time to be Sako's replacement!

Its unlucky with Rodge and O'Hara, but its the long term contracts that led us down this path. We created the situation ourselves, no one else would have to do it with so many because they wouldnt be daft enough to hand out so many long term contracts to such a bunch of players.

Have Hollywood & Bodger really been knocked down a peg or two? They've still been picking up obscene wages for doing jack.

It would be really good to get a bit of 'quality' in the side.

He along with the likes of Sigs could make all the difference in this side and our prospects.......obviously though we have managed to $$$$ it up with BS.

Would any of those two really make a difference to us now? Boukari looked promising in the tiny bit of football that I saw him play but Siggy has flattered to deceive largely and was woeful last season

Many were pretty 'average' for the first half of the season before we improved with our acquisitions.

There is no way he could do worse than the average performances we are currently witnessing from players. He has the talent that could have helped us.

Just read an article saying he should he will be back in training within the next 7 days. If he is and can avoid any further problems could he be making a 1st team appearance by the end of this month I wonder?

If so will be perfect timing for Moxey to tell us he's like a new signing?:D

The thing is he actually will be like a new signing as we haven't seen him for two years and even then it was for a matter of minutes! He is highly thought of and could make a big difference, I just hope his injuries are behind him and we can see him on the pitch.
