Word through the grapevine is that he's up at the chopping block for the sack.

Crazy really as he's done an incredible job at West Ham from where they were when he took over. Big risk getting rid of him with their impending move to the Olympic Stadium.

Can't imagine he'll be short of offers in the Summer.

Shame we are not looking for a new manager! Not that he would come to us, with our Board.

Doesn't really see eye to eye with the porn barons and apparently losing to the boggies was the straw that broke the camels back.

It's more that his contract is up at the end of the season, and the rumour is that it won't be renewed.

Either way, it's insane. Taking over a club which had just suffered a terrible relegation. Got them promoted at the first attempt, then after a season in which the club tried (and sometimes struggled) to adapt to a higher standard, has them 8th in the division above, having also tried to adapt their style of football.

No club would want to get rid of a Manager who had done that...

    ...would they?

You could draw direct parallels if west Ham had fallen from the prem to the 3rd tier then linger in the mid drift of the chump.

The whole thing reminds me of Taylor with us. From the day he arrived there were people who wanted him out and just waiting for their chance. If losing an away time to another Premier League club (even WBA) gets you the sack then there will be a long queue at the job centre. Some will be talking about him not being the manager to get them to the next level and saying they should be aiming for Champions League next season. They'll end up back where they belong.

Yet some on here don't want him as he's a yesterday man, footballing dinosaur, long ball merchant...

I'd swap Big Sam with KJ in a heartbeat!!!

It's like saying you'd rather prefer crab sticks (JK) to lobster (Big Sam)... Crazy.

All i can say is if he does become available, any Chairman worth his salt (Including Steve Morgan) should be inviting Big Sam for a chat. Whatever one may think about his style of football he has always kept his teams comfortably in the PL. It has always been reported that he is a Wolves supporter (He was born in Dudley) and that in itself should alert Steve Morgan to his suitability for Wolves.
I dont know what sort of salary he would need, but he must be worth more than (Jez) and i doubt he is short of a few bob, and give him a salary tied to achievments. There really is NO comparison between KJ and big Sam with regards managerial achievements, yes his style may be comparable with MM, but big Sam is a proven Premiership manager, a locally born guy, what is there NOT to approach big Sam if he becomes available, he is different class when it comes to comparing him with anyone that we have in our present managerial set-up.

He once described the Wolves job as a 'poisoned chalice'. Despite him being a Wolves fan I don't think we'll ever see him managing us.

Some people need a reality check to even think he would consider moving from West Ham (a borderline prem team IMO) to 8th to taking over Wolves in Champ mid-table. If he does leave West Ham at the end of the season his most sensible policy would be to sit tight and wait for a biggish Prem team in a bit of trouble to beg him to take them over and offer him millions if they stay up. (Could be when Sherwood gets the push!)

If he is sacked he ought to be used to it as there is something of a theme running throughout his managerial career. Bolton probably being the only time he left under his own steam.

Perfect fit for Wolves as a club. Aggressive, never fased by the fans, realist about all aspects of the game, so would stamp on BS about building a club from an academy.

But, as you say, pretty much impossible to imagine either Morgan or Moxey dealing with such a strong and experienced character.

Morgan and Moxey need someone of Sam's character though to tell them exactly what's what and what's needed.

I really like KJ and genuinely want for him to bring success to the club and himself but I fear, albeit just my opinion, he is easy for Moxey to control. As such Morgan, who I still maintain doesn't really care about the club and isn't doing a good job, just lets Moxey rule the roost.

Sam would put Moxey straight and in no uncertain terms or so I believe.

Right now I'd just be happy and settle for a new owner.

And yes I know "be careful what you wish for"

Could Wolves have a worse owner, yes they could, could they have a better one, without a shadow of a doubt.

He would be a good match for WWFC, and he would come with a healthy dislike of WBA (since his sacking, along with Brian Talbot after losing to Woking in 1991).

Big Sam would undoubtedly do a good job at Wolves but I don't believe his ethos is that of those who run the club. They want the club to be self-sufficient, if Sam's record at Bolton is anything to go by, he likes to pay big. That is completely against what bitter experience should have taught many on here. Remember those big wage earners we are still trying to get shot of in some cases.

You're seriously comparing getting WHU promoted from the championship to the premiership at the first attempt and the 8th in the Premiership, which must be at the upper-level of their expectations, with KJ? Using that logic it would be reasonable to assume that 8th in the championship is about as good as it gets.

Everything is relative, and given the complete mess that KJ inherited versus what Sam A inherited, Kenny has done the better job, relatively.

My opinion is that a $$$$ed newt would have got us out of League One, whilst the football in the Championship has been sluggish and lucky if anything.

Big Sam coming to Molineux would be a dream, but it would never happen under the current regime.

Most on here would have achieved promotion from league 1 last season and certainly all of the other managers who managed the other top 10 clubs in league 1 last year would have. It was a shocking league and 90% of the games we saw the oppostion couldn't hit a barn door yet shockingly managed to create many chances against us!

Great to see people devaluing the achievements of our manager who took over a club in a rapid downward spiral with big players on big money and froze them out, brought in a new team and achieved a points record. We played some bloody good football too.

    Show some class

It was the players he bought in who were mostly the real stars of that season also.

This thread shows the arrogance of some posters though, expecting Morgan to move heaven & earth for somebody like Allerdyce, were at Sammy Lee level I'm affraid.
