Thought he really showed his affection for us as a club on the panel today. Had nothing but praise for Nuno as well. Regardless of opinions of how he did here, it was nice to see that he still had some warmth towards us.

If you don't love Mick for what he did here then are you really a Wolves fan?

Always liked Mick, we all knew he'd reached the end of his tenure long before he went but no Wolves fan should hold any malice towards the man who gave us top flight football for 3 seasons.
Should he have kept us down in the chump?

Anyway, what channel was he on? BT?

Can anyone tell me roughly what he and John Ruddy said?

I was in the North Bank bar watching it but the volume was down. Big John didn’t look happy.

Just saw the clips that BT have posted on Twitter, enjoyed the anecdote about the 'mystery' player that he tried to keep anonymous for all of about 30 seconds, then going for "oh sod it, it was Jay Bothroyd" (slightly paraphrased)

I liked the bit where he got us promoted and competing in the prem, not so keen on the bit where he got us relegated, overall no problem with Mick though

Mick has for me always been an excellent pundit and is far superior to a vast number of the clowns currently masquerading in that role.

I enjoyed the bit when Mick said to to Martin Keown something like " Nuno won the title last season while I am an out of work football manager do you really think I am in a position to criticise the bloke over tactics ! "

Love Mick, great bloke and a decent Manager. Spent too long here and got a bit short sighted with his players. Happens to many a manager.

    Wish him all the best.

Typical yorkshireman is Mick. Blunt, to the point, soft centred but hard to those who disrespect him. Did a great job for Wolves.

Mick has never had anything like the playersnNuno has at any time in his career.
To this point Nuno has taken us up,so did Mick
Mick kept us there for three years, let just see how Nuno does in the same time frame.
Too early to say who is the better manager given what they had to work with.

After the game Nuno did an interview from the tunnel to the studio and mick asked him a question, shared a compliment to Nuno too. Seemed very respectful.

Absolutely, it's apples to oranges as far as comparing them at the moment, hence why I said 'besides Nuno'.

People like to complain about Mick, but then have a job to say a better alternative.

Up to now I would say Mick did a better job than Nuno based on the fact Mick started with nothing and largely built a team on lower league players, we will never know what would have happened if he was given the £20m for players instead of an ill advised stand which should be renamed Morgan's Folly. As it is he never got us relegated, that goes down to the Morgan/Moxey management team who couldn't appreciate the most important thing about a football club is the players and coaching staff including the manager of those players.
Nuno in contrast has been given any amount of backing, but to make him the best manager on the last 30 or so years is not based on achievement.

I see your point but I think if you gave Mick this squad he wouldn't get out of it what Nuno does, I also think Mick wouldn't have been able to attract the players Nuno has or spend the money as wisely.

Last season Mick intentionally mispronounced Nuno's name in a wider point about how foreign managers/players were ruining the English game. Didn't seem so respectful then.

Issue with that is they improve it. Look at Bielsa at Leeds, Leeds could have gone for a tried and trusted merry-go-round type but they gambled on one of the most innovative coaches the game has seen in the past twenty years and two games in are playing better football than ever and looking the business. It's actually the English based managers that are ruining the game, trying to protect their jobs and playing dull, negative, percentage football.

Regarding McCarthy, I loved three of his years here, and really didn't like two and a bit. I'd always like him to do well (other than against us) but it's obvious he has a shelf life at a club of 3-4 years and he tends to outstay it, falling out with fans along the way which always leaves a sour taste in the mouth

Mick was brilliant for us. Should have gone earlier but that’s another story. Makes an outstanding pundit for me.
