im pretty sure mick will recall big chris on saturday and have a hunch he may throw in jarvis as well ?

reading will have been at st andrews and we will know the score pre kick off....

i hope for a draw there and we then cement our position at the keepmoat. just keep racking the points up lads and no-one will be able to live with us, roll on saturday.

Agree we need Big Chris and Jarvo to start to strike fear into the chasing pack when they see how effective they are again.

knowing that either or both 2nd and 3rd placed teams will definately lose points on us if we win means we have to go for the jugular at doncaster, none of this slow start a la qpr lets get at em.

If Big Chris is still doubtful then start with Vokes - he offers the aerial threat (actually more 'legally' than Iwelumo as the refs don't seem to take issue so much with his challenges whilst he still wins his fair share of ball) I admired the way SEB ran and worked his socks off against Barnsley trying to hold the ball up with no or little support from the too deep Keogh. Either Iwelumo or Vokes will relieve SEB's attention from the defenders and allow him to play his game.

I'd like to see Hill demoted to the bench and Ward in at LB with Jarvis on the wing.

I'd also expect BCI to start.

Agreed, that would be the ideal scenario.

They lost their big 6'3" defender at the weekend to a red card (Hills I think) He is a former England under 21 and their best defender apparently.

Big Chris for me and another 3 points in the bag please!

Remind me again why he has to play? Last 2 games he played he was marked out of the game(s) and we drew and lost. Two games without him we won both and scored 5. Now I like Chris but to say he has to play is borderline delusional. We can and have managed without him.

He was poor against QPR and poor against Blues.

I think that he's a better option away from home personally than Keogh. He really gives us another defensive option and his ability to hold up the ball helps brings others into the game on the counter attack.

That said, Keogh gives us that bit of guile and Vokes was pretty good on Saturday (other than missing that sitter).

    Nice headache to have.

    Wasn't Q P R away from home?

To Wolves (and indeed me) rather than for your good self. ;)

I know what you're saying Coops but it's only a week or so since folks were saying we've been "found out" in relation to playing with Iwelumo ie too one dimensional and lo and behold with Chris out of the team we go and win 2 games in a row 1 of which we walked without getting out of first gear.

Seems we have got different options this season and Mick's playing those options just about right.

Iwelumo has been injured,he is now fit,he will play on saturday and furthermore had he been fit for the Derby and Barnsley games he would have played in those games as well.

Mick has said that he had already decided not to play him against Derby even if fit.

Mick did say he wouldn't play him against Derby even if he was fit, but we will never know if this was true. It was most probably said to boost AK's confidence.

Am i right in thinking the last time our top 4 attackers (Jarvis, Kites, Iwelumo, SEB) started together would have been against Preston in the 3-1 win?

It was as much to rest CI as much as anything else as he's looked a little jaded of late.

Or maybe as previously stated because Iwelumo had been ineffective in his last two games. I personally think he needed a rest and should come back in, Keogh has done well (MOTM against Derby) but maybe not quite well enough to keep his place.

If we play two out and out wingers in Kites and Jarvis then Iwelumo has to return. Its not that he has played particularly badly, just needed a rest and got poor service. Now hopefully raring to go.

He will do serious damage against a struggling Doncaster. Would like to see Vokes given 45 minutes at some point to see what he can do. If we are a couple of goals up at Doncaster at HT that would be a perfect opportunity.

MM said that CI, would probably have played through the pain, if we had needed him, however with AK, and SV available he has left him out to ensure fitness later... (Press conference on WOW).

He may well be fit this week, but Jarvis is not fit to start.

IMHO he will go with SEB, and AK, bringing on CI, and Jarvis if things are not going right.
Although having said that I thought Vokes played really well when he came on (purely from the radio).

Saturday was a very strange game, we did not sound good for large parts of the game.

As Vokes came in and changed the game, maybe he should start, though again, the teams at the bottom tend to play bigger target men better than players with movement.

This is all about having 4 quality strikers competing for 2 positions.

I am sure whoever plays will put in a good preformance given the fact they have 2 players pushing them hard.

If Iwelumo is fit, he must play. Don't give me the $$$$$$$$ served up by certain posters that he was poor against Blose and QPR, so what, he scores goals and wins vital balls in the air.

If he went for three or four games without scoring then you could question his position but not after two poor performances. Keogh has come in and done ok. He played very well against Derby and was largely non-existent against Barnsley.

Iwelumo to play for me, along with Jarvis if he's fit. If not, Ward back to left back (he is not a winger) and Jones back in with Edwards playing tucked in on the left.

Where do people think our weakest position on that team is. Centre mid? Left back?

It looks a very strong team one that wouldnt be out of place in the Prem IMO

  31. centre mid, both players at the moment dont have the complete game to survive at the top level, hope they can keep progressing tho.

also the bench except Ikeme, and possibly Vokes considering how young he is

Sorry mate, but that team will get hammered regularly in the Premier!

Let's get out of this league first, then plan accordingly, unless HRH Steve Morgan has plans afoot for next month?
