Last season saw a record all-seater Molineux crowd of 30,110 for the visit of Rotherham.

Looking at online sales this morning, I will be happy to see 20,000 on Saturday.

If Rotherham bring a good following, then going for 20,110.

Around 10,000 down from last April.. a figure worthy of your comments, thanks.

Top of the table fixture last season as opposed to drab "mid-table obscurity" battle?

Anyone can come out and support a winning team. Would we get 10k to MK at the moment? I doubt it.

There's 15 games to go , we are 8th , 2 home games to come , it's a big if but if we do win both the season is far from over .

Oh for a return of end to end attacking football. That game will live long in the memory. Especially the bird in the pink top with the lovely big tits in the away end who was loving it until her partner got hump and she never appeared for 2nd half. Wish I could be bothererd to make the trip but not going to attend until the club show a bit of ambition to reach plays offs. Wood and Powell today anyone?

To be fair I like success it makes me feel good. I can understand why success brings it rewards. But I am an WWFC addict.

Kenny is upbeat that Wolves can propel themselves into the play-offs..

He wants his side to use the next five games as a springboard, mersea. :)

Same old claptrap coming out of KJ's mouth again then Berlin. Actions speak louder than words. Get a couple of quality additons in on loan THEN start trapping off about a push for play offs. Until then I know and everyone else knows deep down we aint quite got enough this year. Which is why I am withdrawing my attendance from home games unfortunately. If they can't be arsed to show real ambition I can't be arsed to part with my well earned cash to watch that boring dross. Quite amazing that players were brought in to bring us a successful season this time last year yet this year when its needed even more we can't seem to able to get anyone in. Shame but judging by falling attendances I aint the only one.

Precisely this. Without going down a sensitive route, it is what separates the support of Leeds Utd to other clubs in our league, including ourselves. They have had no success whatsoever throughout the last 7 or 8 years yet still get very high home attendances and sell out away as quickly and as easily as it takes Moxey to pick up a pie!

Walsall, the main difference I can see between us and Leeds is that they are a one team city with huge support. I have come to the conclusion over the years that our fanbase comes more ftom all parts of the country. We will always have the local die-hards who will go pretty much to watch any old dross served up week after week but the thousands who have to travel long distances will think twice about it. Just my humble opinion. I think we are a unique bunch of supporters in this respect. I wouldn't mind betting that outside the Prem we have the most diversely populated support in the country.

Winning teams fill stadiums. Habit keeps people going when results dip. Sensible pricing makes habit easier to maintain, but won't get people to watch a losing team.

And this season the gap has closed to just 1,540 in favour of Leeds.

Leeds 23,886 and Wolves 22,346. So, not much in it really.

If Wolves did well over the next five games, we could run Leeds close, come the end of the season.

Sadly our gates will drop rest of the season unless we get someone in and start attacking a bit.

Leeds are a shambles of a club with a dodgy owner.

I can't blame people for not wanting to go but it will be our normal crowd I would expect minus the we'll only come when we're wining fans that all clubs have.

These 2 games will make or break our season so I'm quite excited.

I'm 50/50 at best right now as to whether to bother with Saturday.

I never thought I'd think the way I do right now and no matter what league or league position Wolves were in I would do all I could to make sure I got to a game but I'm just sick of how the club is run right now and where it's going, which is nowhere.

In the dark days of what was Div4 football there were still people at the club who wanted to get it back on its feet, to push on and try to get the club back where it once was.

Now I see a lot of superficial air about the club.

Dare say tomorrow evening I'll think and feel differently but these feelings are far more common nowadays than they ever have been.

In a nutshell the games aren't enjoyable right now so the thought of a nigh on 350 mile round trip, at least 5hrs driving and a lot of expense isn't appealing.

As for the gate, 20k I reckon.

If Wolves drop out of the Play Off race then gates will drop. But should we do very well in the next five games, then I can see gates increasing. Molineux would be fullish for the Leeds game on Easter Monday.

Struggle to get 20k imo. If I was JM I'd sit down each month with his team and look at the home games ahead and come up with ideas to get the stadium full - be it freebies for the kids, 2 for 1, 3 for 2, whatever just to get some atmosphere. I know it comes down to the team producing the goods, and as they're not at present, then more reason for the club to come up with some radical ideas to get us in?

Even though Leeds have been $$$$ this season they're still getting a greater support than us

  27. Some of the club communications sound like they're panicking now - early bird for everyone, cheap family deal on Sat

But could hierarchy honestly not see this coming? You have to nurture fans, not pick 'em up and drop 'em all the time Jez

He may not like Derby-style ticket deals because he's obsessed with year-end figures (and no doubt financially rewarded for them) but what and how you treat fans over an extended period of time gnaws away at your fanbase

Instead of more kneejerk ticketing decisions, how about a long-term strategy to rear the next generation of local Wolves fans. That'd improve your bottom line year on year Jez

  28. Don't be daft - Leeds had European football not that long ago. Given size of catchment areas / local clubs, we stand up well to them

Not sure on the stats, not going to check them either, but how did we fair to Leeds last season when we in the third tier of English football, sorry just scrolled down and saw stats from Wolfgang (thank you) thought our average was higher than 21k last season.

I agree, however here's an idea. Give a free ticket (you just have to spend £5 of imaginary money that you can't spend on anything else) to everyone who is not a season ticket holder who has been to 2/3 games this season. If I was them I'd think this was bound to pack the place out. In reality I reckon it might have put 2000 on the gate.

Saturday, 2 adults can bring 2 kids and pay less than they would for their own tickets. Effectively they are being paid to bring the kids. How many will come?

Tbh there's a million different offers/deals/inducements that could be offered game by game if necessary to fill the ground but I just don't think JM and his team can be arsed which is really disappointing.

Sorry, I am no great fan of the pricing overall etc, but in recent weeks we have had ticket cash, £15 anywhere, free tickets to STHs for a friend and family football. Coming up is £5 tickets for school parties. I'm not sure what else you want?

Most disappointing to me is that some of these seem to have little impact. Having to phone rather than book online is a bit of an annoyance but that's about it.

Filling a 31,000 seat ground to watch average football in a city struggling economically is never going to be easy.

Those special offer matches simply offered football of such a dire quality it sadly probably reminded people why they stay away.

Those 2 games were dreadful to watch, absolutely abject.

As you will see Reans I agree, just trying to point out that much as I (and I know you) would like to see cheaper prices overall, the implication that the club is not trying to get more people in through sheer apathy does not really hold water.

Can anyone remember the pricing of that last match against Rotherham . No ?

Probably this proves more than anything else it is the quality of football on offer and winning that effects gates.

Pricing although important was not the reason we got over 30,000 .

And people would have bought the tickets a week or so in advance & would have had no way at all of knowing that it would turn out to be a ten goal thriller. Much like they won't know what tomorrow's game will turn out like. Yes the fayre on show recently has been low standard stuff but you never know which Wolves is going to turn up. That's football folks & why we're all addicted to it

Having spoken to many Wolves supporting mates quite a few are giving this a miss because of the dire football served up of late and nothing to do with the opposition or league position.

Last season this game meant something, this season and right now nowhere near as much. However win this and other results go in Wolves favour and everything changes yet again.

it was priced normall (so £20 behind the goal)

You are right pricing was not the reason we got 30,000 but pricing is the reason a good proportion (I know not all someo people will always only come for the so called'glory games') of those 30,000 don't come more often.

That 30,000 was not made up of thousands of people who only went once. More so due to the importance of the game it was made up of many people who do anything from 2-15 games a season all picking that one.

Bang on, but the penny won't drop with a few who constantly like to remind people that they (think) they have one up on others because they go more often.

I think you have to go way back to pre-Xmas in Micks first season for the last sub 20k Saturday afternoon gate at this level.
