Now that Arsenal are out of the Carling Cup - any of their promising kids worth picking up on loan?
Gibbs, Lansbury and an ambitious bid for Vela.
Vela's a bit too close to the first team at Arsenal, Gibbs would be too far down the pecking order in our defence to warrant his arrival and Lansbury would sit around trying to solve murders instead of training.
...and yes, I did post just so I could get the Lansbury joke in. Funny me!
Some of them looked like they needed toughening up and didn't seem to be able to cope with the frantic pace at times. Vela although extremely skilfull was outmuscled time after time. Simpson may be an option and Wilshire if we get promoted next year. But we would be better off getting Mark Davies and Lewis Goburn fit or possibly trying some of the others like Kyle Bennet or Ashley hemmings.
Probably not, we've got some promising younger players with Davies, Gobern and of course eventually Zele Ismail.
Gobern isn't that young now, is he? Am I right in thinking he's around 25?
Bennett interests me - I think this kid could come good for us the season after next.
I went to junior school with Jack Wilshere's aunt.
I'll have a word if I see her.
Gobern is 23,and turns 24 in January.
Vela gets outmuscled in international games against Jamaica and Honduras. The Championship is definitely no place for him.
Pah! Practically a pensioner, give or take a few years.
Can't see any Arsenal youngster that we would particularly need at the moment. On the home front I think sadly, we can probably forget about Gobern but Davies could still make an impact this season and I would like to see some of other Wolves youngsters given more of a chance unless there is an outstanding young candidate from another club available.
Scott Sinclair might be one when he becomes available on loan again in January. Otherwise would like to see Little, Hemmings, the Bennett brothers etc start coming to the fore in the next 12 months to see what they are made of. The likes of Dan Jones, Gleeson, Lee Collins and other loanees etc will probably fall by the wayside unfortunately as the club seeks to go up a gear quality wise.
Gibbs plays LM as well as LB. He has terrific pace too. I'd like to see him brought in as competition for Jarvis.
Would any of them be able to transfer to schools in Wolverhampton that easily?
jay simpson, played on loan at millwall at all places and scored about 8 goals in the league. not a great return granted but the kid must be strong mentally and physicall after that. from the goals i saw him score against wigan he seemed to have a good technique. i think he could come upto the mol and get involved would certainly be a good impact player from the bench and different from vokes and keogh
I'm pretty sure Wenger isnt going to let any of his babies go out to championship clubs, think he has said that none of the players will be going on loan to anyone, especially the likes of Wilshire and Vela
I think its time we dropped this kids theme. Come the new year all roads will be pointing onward and upwards. We have plenty of kids playing and coming through that will need some positive direction. For me Iwelumo is the only one that provides this.
