Gianluca Di Marzio :: Calciomercato | Wolverhampton, cercasi rinforzi per la Premier: André Silva e Rui Patricio gli obiettivi

99 points in the standings, first place and promotion in the Premier after six years of purgatory for the Wolverhampton, which now wants to play a leading role. Already, the Wolves, after the double relegation from the English league to the Football League One, are now back among the greats. And they do not want to appear as a simple appearance. This is demonstrated by the first names related to the incoming market. At the top of the list is André Silva. The key? He could be the same agent as the Portuguese attacker, or Jorge Mendes, who enjoys great importance at the English club. The attacker therefore, 10 goals in 39 appearances to date, could greet Italy after just one year. From the attack to the door, the list of possible reinforcements is long. And it could also intertwine several times with the fate of Serie A. For the poles one thinks of another Portuguese, Rui Patricio. Of course, on the player there is also Napoli. Sporting Lisbon does not fall below 35 million, with Rui Patricio who clearly would prefer the Azzurri. But, if you do not reach agreement, the Premier will be serious

Di Marzio is very reliable. Rui Patricio is a little better than I expected too.

At 30 Patricio is coming into his pomp as a keeper too. Would be quite a coup!

I like this rumour. A lot! But would Patricio come here at this point in our development? Suppose money talks and the Premiership is a big pull.

Di Marzio is as good a source you’ll get on football transfers.

What a statement getting these two in would be.

****ing hell, if this is the calibre of signing we'll be making then I'll think I've died and gone to heaven.

A few years ago we were signing Grant Holt and Yannick Sagbo on loan for gods sake.

They don't even surprise me anymore. 35 million though is quite a lot for a 30 year old keeper, think I'd rather we spent a similar amount on Butland. Nuno will know the value of a quality keeper and with Rui Barbosa he could make Butland world class and England's #1 for years to come. I'm not complaining though, Rui Patricio is top class!

Imagine going from Andy Lonergan in goal to Rui Patricio in the space of two seasons. Hahahaha.

Take it from me, followed him most of his career (thanks to the early Football Managers), he's an extremely good keeper, his loyalty to Sporting is the reason he hasn't moved on, He's got better with age too

Patrício would be an amazing signing. I think he's one of the top 10 GK in the world. Amazing between the sticks and has a great mentality, always improving every year, having less and less weaknesses.
Signing him would make Wolves a top 6 contender.

Patricio is a massive upgrade how he’s never moved onto one of Europe’s elite is beyond me because he’s top 6 premier league standard. Would be a phenomenal purchase

He appears to be a one-club man, loyal to Sporting, which is why this rumour surprised me. I'd agrees that he would be very capable of moving to a top 6 side though

I think Fosun really want to make a statement that will make Wolves a top brand by not only making us successful like Chelsea or Man City were by investment, but by getting us to play a certain way that will wow overseas fans. I’m just guessing here, but the way the whole coaching staff were replaced and Nuno’s insistence on playing our brand of football even in the championship where it’s easier maybe going up like a Cardiff team suggests that we want to play an attractive style of football that we can build on next year. I think Fosun not only want success but success in a certain way that will establish us as different. An English Barcelona maybe! And built on youngsters from Portugal that know how to play this system with skill and flair. Exciting times.

I wonder if Adidas know what we have planned and see our potential to sign world class players hence why we are going to have our own kit rather than an identikit

If we become as difficult to score against in the PL as we were in the Champ, and have the quality to score one or more virtually every game, then we are going to be up there with the best. :)

if anything i think it may be the potential sales in china/asia that might make them take notice, Fosun will want us to be huge there and have the clout to do it

The way I understand it is that the author thinks mendes might "source" more from Serie A. It's not speculation per se, more of "should". But yes, it's not solid, but rather an "astute observation"

Sure I read somewhere a while back that there are a lot of issues at Sporting which is why he might consider leaving or may be being forced out as a saleable asset

A top quality keeper is the best value for money you can get in football I think. Crazy amounts get spent on forwards when a keeper costing half as much can win you just as many points.

I can speak about Patricio because he plays for Sporting, my club. As far I know the only link to him here in Portugal is the interest of Napoli, but our president already said he doesn't want to sell, so asking 35 million € will always receive a no from Napoli, reason why I think they are interested in Leno.

But Di Marzio is always informed, I doubt Mendes and our President will make business between them. Patricio is my favourite player also, even last Saturday if it wasn't for him we would have lost against Benfica, I suspect he will have a hard WC, because our CB's are crap and we play against Spain to start.

If I know something from Portugal when I can I will post to see if this is only speculation or no.

I was told by a Porto fan that there have been "fights" between the most influential players and the President at Sporting and that Patricio, William Carvalho and Coentrão are very unlikely to be at Sporting next season.

    Is this true PTW or?
