Points needed for automatic promotion (discarding goal difference of course).

7 games to go we needed 7 points
6 games to go we needed 6 points
5 games to go we now need 5 points

    Nice if this continued......

Would be gutted if it continued as we'd miss out on goal difference...

I think we need to win 4 out of 5 just for play offs to be honest

We'll draw against Blouse, lose at Boro (there will be a lot of pantwetting after the Boro game if that happens!) and then win the last three, giving us 81 points and sixth. I'd settle for that right now.

I'm with you JW, may be 3 wins and a draw at best.

Why? One game to go with one point needed - and we win....

17th April Norwich Middlesborough on the Friday night before us Against Ipswich on the sat Coul be a fixture which could reduce the gap 2 more points if it's a draw and we win

I think 3 wins might be enough as long as one of them is against Ipswich

Said on here weeks ago we would finish above Ipswich. For me it's between us, Bees and derby for 2 po places.

Thought you were saying the target was reducing by one point a game. Meaning if we were 1 behind with 1 to play and the same happened, we'd finish level on points.

Ignore me, I'm just being pedantic! We've done remarkably well to close the gap.

I agree, it's that tight I feel like 5 out of 5 would only just guarantee us a play-off spot! At this stage of the season if somebody said would you take 6th you'd bite their hand off.

Brum away, a tough local derby against a side that has been revitalised by Gary Rowett. Lost only once at home in 2015, winning 4 and drawing 3.

Middlesborough away, obviously a massive game between two good sides, they're still in realistic contention for the automatics. Since September they've lost only once at home, winning 12 and drawing 4. Best home record in the division.

Ipswich at home... Mick. Fortunately, there away record is pretty poor, but you know they'll be a hard working side still contending for the play-offs, it's a six pointer. Lost 6 of there last 8 away from home.

Wigan away, in turmoil and will most likely be already relegated given they're 8 points from safety with 5 to play. If they can stay up, they'll be up for it but they have the worst home record in the league winning only 2 of 21, which to most Wolves fans sounds like a recipe for disaster!

And finally, Millwall at home. Hopefully they will already be down but they've started to pick up points now and are 7 points behind with 6 games to play. With how tight it is right now this could be a huge game possibly for both sides, hopefully KJ shows no mercy to his old side.

Biizarre, but if next week Norwich win, and Boro win or Bournemouth draw, assuming we beat Blues we will be 4 points off automatic.

We would need 1 draw & 4 wins (inc Boro, Ipswich) to have a chance of auto, maybe just getting into 4th & having the playoff second leg at home would be an advantage.

It seems every week four teams win and two or three drop points. Teams are still playing each other. Bournemouth haven't lost for ages and have two away local derby's coming up. Boro' have two against the top and two against the bottom in the next four. In truth anything can happen.

If derby beat Brentford next week and we beat blues we have a 4 point gap on Brentford. Enough to even $$$$ up against boro

Forget auto. Norwich, Watford and Bournmouth all have easy run ins and are in good form.

Even if we won all five I don't think we'd make the top 2 because of our poor goal difference. It would be nice to give it a go though.

Drawing at home to forest and Cardiff isn't the world's greatest form.

If derby win next week and we win Brentford could be 4 points adrift

Norwich' momentum is pretty much unstoppable at the moment. I could be very wrong, but they will go up
