The interesting thing is that the big 6 wanna alter the way the money is split weighting it more in favour of them who they say contribute more than lower teams.

They got voted down but apparently with the 3 teams going up under foreign ownership and the 3 that went down all voting against it they are going to try again during the summer as they have the support of the big 6 and another 3 and they think the 3 promoted clubs may be persuaded to vote yet. (Saw above in daily mail paper dnt have a link)

How do u think wolves would vote if it came up again.

I think that the money should should be shared outside of the PL more. There should be incentives but not consolidate most wealth with just the top few.

I hate the big guys always getting way more money than smaller clubs. It’s a form of collusion and by demanding more money than lower placed clubs, they perpetuate the cushy position they created for themselves. I think it’s demeaning and unsporting to all other clubs.......as if they and they alone, are the PL. Bloody cheek.
Greed is never attractive......it’s a negative.
Many times I wished other clubs would go on strike or something.....I dunno what.
    Ok.....sorry, just venting

Vote to let the top six get more I say, with the caveat that they bin off FFP and allow clubs with wealthy owners to spend that wealth. Can't see the big boys going for that myself so as you were, keep it the same. It's enough of a closed shop as it is

I hate to say this but in some respect the NFL (wrong football) have got it right when it comes to things similar to prize money. The worst team from the previous season gets 1st pick of all the University (not calling it college) players that are ready to step up. Evens out the playing field, even if only a little bit

6 team league effectively at the top although there is still a pretty standard order with those. Of course they want more money that' the way everything works in the world.

It seems the big money goes to the clubs who are shown most live on tv; hence Man U getting more than City. I reckon, mainly because of the curiosity value, we will be on a lot live at the beginning of the season, esp if we get some of the big clubs. If we are having a decent season and playing good football then it's likely we will be chosen regularly for live games. This buggers up those of us who go to games but whether we like it or not football is not geared up for us but for the armchair fan,but it will bring in the hard cash for the club.

I agree with a lot of this but the issue,(to me at least) is all t.v. PL money should be shared evenly. That way the smaller clubs have a chance to build better squads and thus may lead to a level playing field. Better for the sport and the fans.
Does anyone know if the allocation of t.v. revenue has ever beeen challenged in court?

As the table shows most of the tv money is shared equally -£80 million per club if you add the last three columns.I have no doubt the big six would like to negotiate their own deals as happens in spain for example.Hence the recent argument over the divi up of the overseas tv money.

Premier League Prize Money 2018 (Confirmed)

Spain agreed a premier league style group contract for the full league teams rather than individual club deals for TV rights and income back in 2015. It came into effect in 16/17 and is second only to the prem and not that far behind. Real and Barca do still get some financial perks over other clubs still though as they have some guarantees for income but I guess they are the jewels in the crown that other clubs in the league benefit from.

The more money the top 6 get the bigger the gap between them and the other clubs become and the more stale the PL becomes as a result. Can't be good for the *cough* brand surely?

Maybe they don't mind because the big 6 want to be in some European Super League anyhow?

Logic would dictate that it is healthier for the game as a whole if these vast amounts of money are distributed in a way that benefits many clubs rather than concentrating the wealth in the hands of those clubs that already have more than enough?

A thriving pyramid and grass roots system would be a huge boon for the game in England but as it stands more and more of the smaller clubs are really struggling. Can't be good for the game as a whole

Oh that's right, capitalism doesn't have a moral compass!

Gosh I guess we will have to wait for the "trickle down" effect

I anticipate Wolves breaking 120 million next season.

Curiosity and a decent season seem to have nothing to do with it nor, I think, does playing good football, unfortunately. Burnley were on live only as often as WBA. TV just takes the "safe" choice: top 6 clubs 135 times, all others 180. Interesting to note, also, the southern bias: West Ham 17, Brighton 13, Southampton 16.
Don't expect much extra "hard cash" for the club. It's doubtful if we'll get shown more than Burnley or Leicester did no matter how we do.
