Did not realise villa won the champions league last night ?
For ****s sake, a few kids ran on the pitch because they’ve got to Wembley.
Can we please let this obsession with Villa go? It’s embarrassing. The wolves twitter army are the worst.
Yeah you'd think. Pitch invasions for winning your play off semi final. How embarrassing.
We invaded the pitch for hitting the side netting in league 1 once...
Why does everyone in the stands boo to the fans running on? It annoys me how many old (and young) fogies there are that watch football these days.
And chant ****ers ****ers
They take the moral high ground re a celebratory pitch invasion but then chant ****ers ****ers at fellow supporters including kids.
Modern football fans for you.
That’s was funny. 6-4, one of the best games I’ve been to.
Football fans have always been thick.
Speak for yourself pal
But we were told how embarrassing it was for fans to invade the pitch! In this very forum! And we'd win something as well!
Though personally I understand why people allow their emotions to take over at such moments, so I don't see the problem as long as it's not aimed at opposition fans. Plus it's not like Villa will be able to celebrate after the final
I'm not sure it's an obsession with villa, as they would like to think. It's just generally wolves fans being pretty thin skinned as we become more high profile. If anyone says anything the twitterati go into meltdown, effing and jeffing. Gonna have to grow a pair over next few years and not get so uptight. Don't have to respond to everything, just ignore
It's is completley tin pot tbh. Big clubs don't do it ... hold on arnt Villa a massive club? That's what everyone says right???
To any Villa fans. Please post pictures of your kids crying at Wembley. Thanks in advance.
Boro invaded the pitch just for confirming a play off position a couple of weeks ago, how silly do they look now
We wouldve run on and wouldve been on v blues if fulham beat brentford.
All the high and mighty fans tutting from the stands with there arms crossed whilst fans are celebrating on the pitch makes me laugh
Villa are a bigger club than we’ll ever be.
I heard a report that when we beat Rotherham 6-4 that at the final whistle a woman with a dog on a lead ended up on the pitch.
If true, how did she sneak it past the stewards?
It was pretty cringeworthy though. The missus summed it up when she asked me what it was they had won. When I said they had reached the play off final she just looked at me and said "Is that it? I thought they'd won the whole thing"
Some Villa fans were taking the **** out of Fulhams pitch invasion the day before, what comes around
Someone should let Fosun know before they waste all their money.
Wolves are Premier league, Villa are one result from absolute meltdown, lets review in a week or so.
These overreactions aren't exactly confined to Wolves.
Rory Smith, on the rather excellent Set Piece Menu podcast, said that whatever team he writes about will lead to a torrent of abuse from that team's fans, who pick up on the slightest of slights. Man City's being the worst surprisingly.
The bigger we get the worse the twitterati will get I'm afraid.
They were a bigger club than city 10 years ago.
Worth noting also that Newcastle fans were ripping the **** out of Villa last night as well.
Are they obsessed with them too? They haven’t even played them this season.
Bournemouth are Premier League that doesn’t make them bigger than Forest or Sheff Wed.
I’m sure they already know Villa have a bigger fan base & probably always will.
Anyone who thinks Villa aren’t the biggest club in the Midlands is clearly on glue. It’s just a fact they are, they’re not better right now but they are bigger.
I would probably say about level in terms of support but Man City aren’t as big as Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd are they. Even now.
How ironic it will be if Villa go up and finish above us.
Villa are a bigger club. But the difference is not as large as your post makes out.
Also, your post was extremely absolute, saying Villa are a bigger club than we could ever hope to be.
That’s just rubbish. We could absolutely be a larger club than Villa are now. We aren’t right now, but if Wolves match Fosun’s ambitions and Villa fail at Wembley then Wolves could absolutely look to be the bigger club in five years time.
I’m not saying that will happen, but to state absolutely that it never will is a terrible stance in my opinion.
Also, club size is only in the eye of the beholder. It means **** all and is impossible to measure.
Tbh I'd rather have a good West Midlands rivalry with Villa than the ****. That rivalry is boring old and even saying their name the whole thing just sounds ****e, I hate saying our main rival is West Bromwich Albion, I'd rather be saying for at least the next 20-30 years that the big West Midlands Derby is Wolves v Villa, while WBA are struggling in league 2 and fighting for league status and against liquidation with crowds down to 5000.
What's everyone's obsession with Villa for anyway **** em never even been one of our main rivals for me why are we still going on about them we've won the league who cares what they do!
Also what the ****s the obsession with the term 'tinpot' while I'm at it!
City are now a bigger club than Villa, I'm not going to even bother arguing that point.
I feel for you if you think Villa will always be bigger than us.
There no future in the past remember that!
That wouldn’t be ironic ... it would be ****ing ****.
Usually I’d agree with you, the scenes at Cardiff for example were brilliant and I was disappointed how Fulham v Brentford panned out as it really robbed us of that moment but last night was winning a play off semi final.
Getting promoted, winning the championship, even survival you’ve achieved something there and then, that’s the time and place for it.
The only exception, imo, would have been Shrewsbury purely as no one would have expected them to be anywhere near the play off final at the start of the season.
For Aston Villa, or even Fulham, finishing runner up in the play offs will have been a failure of a season and that’s the only guaranteed achievement they’re celebrating.
Well, unless you've been away on holiday on a moon-landing or something, you might have noticed that the Villa Chairman, Tony Xia and Mr Potato Head spent most of the month of March trying to de-stabilise our club at a key point in the season by constantly claiming we were cheating on player recruitment and player salaries and even complaining to the Football League about us. All of it complete rubbish. And it totally failed. So I think Wolves fans can be excused for biting back. I have never had any issue with Villa up to now, but after their disgraceful tactics of a couple of months ago, nothing would delight me more than to see them lose in the PO final to Fulham and go into financial melt-down as a result of their own gross mismanagement of their club.
It does at the moment if you believe that past achievements count for very little with fans living in the moment while thinking about the future.
that was March we've won the league since then **** em!
And if the thread was about those issues I'd have understood but it wasn't.
Like I say **** Villa...who cares!
I would give this a 1000 likes if I could. Sick to death of everything being “tinpot”!!
Pitch invasions “tinpot”
Bus parades “tinpot”
Laughing at Albion “tinpot”
Not selling all your away tickets “tinpot”
