Mirror and Mail say we are in for him
If he can stay fit for more than a week, great.
This needs to be in the fake news thread.
Brilliant is Jack, his fitness is a major concern
If this is how every credible transfer rumour thread is going to pan out this summer we may as well close the forum
Put it this way - You're talking about a guy who would want massive wages, he has had documented injury problems, not to mention personality issues. Does he hit the Wolves profile?
He’s Beniks best mate, so if true would stand a good chance of landing him..provided we sign Benik of course..lol
£90,000 wage potentially, not too unrealistic. Agree injuries are a big issue
I don't see this as a far-fetched signing. He played for Bournemouth due to the sway of Afobe and they could afford to pay his wage.
Quality player, but always crocked. Doubt there's much truth but imagine a Neves and Wilshere combo in CM damn
Wilshere threads aren't duplicate threads if they are all spelled/spelt differently. I had a couple of successful seasons playing CM in the Wiltshire League. Can I have a thread?
He is the new Jamie O'Hara. No thanks
Just shows the importance of getting promoted early so these type of deals can be lined up already unlike the play off winners
Our medical team is outstanding, i'm sure they'd be able to sort Jack out. A midfield pairing of Neves and Wilshere is too damn tempting for me
Not sure this is true - Fosun like players who hold their value. He's getting on a bit and injury prone
Hell of a player if fit though. One of the few English players who could improve our midfield!
Is it physical enough, or am I just being old fashioned? Would certainly look after the ball!
When Benik re-joined, I am sure he said his best mate was Doherty!
Not sure we’ve had a great deal of use of it this season! The fitness coaches seem to be doing the trick though..
Fitness coaches, medical team - you get the point
They all want loads of money, do you think Neves is on less than a domestic player of his level?
Saiss breaks up the play nicely, maybe Wilshere will be pushing on a bit more than Neves. Leave it to Nuno to work out
He did. Could get messy.....
I would suggest that he is on considerably less than Wilshere, though that will no doubt change.
Nah he's happy at Barca
... to resist.
Perhaps temperamentally - i confess i wouldn't know. But i reckon in terms of technical ability he's far more talented than O'Hara ever was. And despite misgivings, probably a better bet fitness-wise.
Have none of you been in the mander centre, we already have a Jack Wills here
Wouldn't Maddison from Norwich be a better fit? He doesn't have any of the drawbacks you mention.
At best it would be a huge gamble.
If he stayed fit and if he played at his very best, then at just 26 would help complete a brilliant mid-field.
Probably two many if's though!!
I think I would rather Jorges came up with another young Portuguese genius!
I'd take him, home grown, free transfer. Probably 40-50k a week, do a 2 year deal and that's 5m spent...if he stays fit that's a bargain.
He is certainly better than Jamie ability wise, I just see the similarity as an injury prone player on the way down on big money.
Big time Charlie who on his day is brilliant . Unfortunately has 2 good days a year due to a dire injury record . Another O'Hara , Joe Cole type . Really need to be looking at fitter better stronger more reliable players .
Didn't Arsenal offer him more than £90k?
I think he's a decent player, no more than decent though, certainly not the world beater some make him out as and with his injury history, personally I'd be steering clear of him. I used to think he was just a better version of O'Hara, and would eventually waste his career
Are footballers allowed more than one bestie?
Whilst he doesn't have the drawbacks he would command significant fee.
I'll be surprised if we could guess more than a third of our recruitment targets between now and Sept (that aren't on loan already)
No, no and no.
Overrated, fitness issues .......
Gets injured too much as he holds on to the bloody ball too long.
Great player when fit. Messed about by managers, both domestically and Internationally who don’t know how to play him. Nuno would sort that out. Big yes from me, although I reckon it’s newspaper talk and won’t happen.
Agreed. If he’s over his injury problems (and 38 appearances this season suggests he is over the worst of them), then he is an excellent player.
Think he’d fit beautifully into our style and formation.
