Petition: Allow Premier League and Championship football clubs to introduce safe standing
This government won’t stand for that...
Doubt it'll make a difference but I've signed,
We've added your signature to the petition:
At 100,000 signatures...
At 100,000 signatures, this petition will be considered for debate in Parliament
Signed. Really hope it gets to 100,000 and goes to Parliament. Even if they reject it, it will create a new momentum for this campaign and Labour, the SNP, Plaid and the Lib Dems may well be converted and campaign jointly for it at the next GE.
Would love to know the stats on how many of these have lead to change. The evidence is overwhelming, nobody can give a rational reason for not allowing it, it doesn't make any difference.
Signed, there’s more than enough of us to get this considerably passed that threshold.
Signed. Can people give the link to other clubs fan sites?
It's gaining momentum.
Signed 13000 now
Close to 100,000 sigs now
Wolves official twitter and facebook actually telling people to sign it now as per LD.
Great progress and good to see a MD not sitting on the fence like Moxey did.
Signed with pride. 95,741.
over 96100 now
He was a bit reluctant at the last FP and was still sitting on the fence. Glad he/the club seem to have jumped off it now though.
Let’s be honest with the amount of folks who regularly go to football in this country less than 100k signatures is pretty poor.
Signed. I'd love this. A 10k safe standing South Bank
Seems to be getting circulated by clubs on their official channels which will hopefully boost its profile to a wider audience.
at current rate should be over the 10000 in the next hour or two
Would be bigger than that. Between 15k and 18k.
Why clubs should consider installing rail seats… No. 3 - Safe Standing Roadshow.co.uk
Just seen that mate, loads of clubs getting involved, should shoot up.
Just signed. Up to nearly 97,000 now
Question: How many more supporters does safe standing allow vs equivalent all-seated? Looking at Celtic's rail seat design, I'm assuming it's not too different.
I think it's 1 to 1.5 in Germany, so 5k South bank would be 7.5k but you'd have to increase facilities behind the stand.
But the do gooders in this country will probably insist on a ratio of 1 to 1!!
don't think we would put any safe standing in until stands were rebuilt anyway so increasing facilities behind stand should't be an issue in that case, being allowed to do it is another problem
I think the the lower quadrant would be the best possible place to trial it. Have 2 ends of the ground standing and creating atmosphere.
It's going to have to debated in parliament by the looks of it. We know most politicians are against it but what leverage do clubs and some MP's in favor have do you think?
maybe getting to 100,00 only means it will be considered for debate by parliament, so not a guarantee
Separate names with a comma.
