Top bloke and great player who deserves some appreciation
Top fella, you can't dislike him.
Think the phrase is much maligned.
Very valuable player for us this season.
Very useful squad member who has weighed in with some extremely important goals over the last two seasons.
Fully deserved his new contract.
Zero to Hero
Always appreciated what he brings to the table and very pleased it's now being appreciated by a lot more of us. He just has that knack of being able to get in the box at the right time. If he was bloody good with his feet hed be worth millions haha
The song for him on the other thread is pure genius
Brilliant player and gentlemen, sets a professional example to the younger members throughout the group.
I agree. A gentleman and epitome of a team player. Dynamite.

I don't know if you got the same commentary as me back home but when Dave came on the commentator said: "And here comes Kevin Doyle onto the field, a like for like replacement, etc". He then described (incorrectly) Doyle's last appearance as being against Stevenage etc and spoke about Doyle on 3 or 4 occasions (even after the "EDWARDS" name was clearly visible on the back of his shirt). Eventually after about 5 mins he said: "and of course the substitute was Dave Edwards, not Doyle".
It would have made me laugh if I wasn't still so angry / disappointed about events on the field at the time
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that not only have we now got a team to be really proud of on the pitch, but they all do seem to be extremely intelligent, well educated, articulate and quite honestly just really, really nice lads.
So, so happy with these players. It's what you get when you have a great manager.
Couldn't agree more. Just watched the Benik interview after the Forest game and he comes across just as articulate as Dave
Absolutely love him.
Better than Lampard (the poor man's Dave Edwards)!
He's Welsh, a laugh, swims in the river Taff.... Davy boy....Davy boy...
Eats leeks , runs hard, late goals his calling card...Davy boy...davy boy..
He's loved, reviled, he drinks a pint of mild..davy boy..
He's Wolves, an ace, he lacks a yard of pace...davy boy...davy boy..
Useful player to have around as he can do a number of jobs & his runs into the box do get us goals however you can see the difference in the game when Afobe plays there compared to Edwards.
Agreed. Long may it continue
He does, also Sako speaks intelligently even though English is not his first language.
Often maligned unfairly but a fully committed player who scores some important goals as per yesterdays as a perfect example.
Tried to paste a photo from BBC site, of Edwards being congratulated by RVLP, but couldn't get it to work.
I thought it showed the team spirit of the team perfectly.
Fair play to him. That was one of the best headers I have seen, yesterday.
No one else in our squad of midfielders would have scored that goal yesterday, for all of his faults he doesnt half have a knack of being in the right place at the right time, very important player for us to have use of.
Excellent header yesterday and a handy player to come on when we're protecting a lead
Those comments Leigh are oh so right.
He said he knew it was in as soon as it left his head . Been underrated by fans but not managers for far too long and probably until we get promoted.
Mel Eves just compared him to Frank Lampard - quality
I know he is much derided by some, to the point he is the root of all our problems, mostly by people who have chosen to ignore this thread unsurprisingly.
He isn't Frank Lampard and yes if there was a better upgrade on him I would take it...but that goes for every other player too.
Did anyone see him, prior to the game, warming up with the keeper coach? He was one touch, killing and controlling 30/35 yard clearances...certainly no lack of technique was on display there.
Never minded Dave, gets a lot of unfair stick at times but I think coming off the bench should be his role at Wolves most of the time. Jackett has got far more out of him in the last 2 seasons than anyone else got out of him in the past 5 or 6 seasons.
He's a decent alternative in the No. 10 role. Scores his fair share and his closing down of the opposition when we're defending a lead is a valuable asset. Ideally we could do with someone more creative in that position, especially if we were to be promoted. He does divide opinion though. At Bournemouth I had the misfortune to have someone in the row behind me who, it seemed, had attended the game with the sole intention of shouting abuse at Edwards, often using the most foul language.
He's scored some important goals for us over the last couple of seasons. If only we had a team full of Dave Edwards.
I couldn't agree more with this.
