After a slightly flat start, we gradually took control of the game before half-time and our second-half performance was quite superb. Given the importance of the game and the run that Forest have been on, that has to go down as one of our best performances and results of the season. Sako was unplayable in the second half, giving Mancienne a torrid time but my Man of the Match was McDonald who oozed class throughout. Special mentions to Iorfa who kept Antonio largely anonymous, Price who gave us a great platform to build on and Afobe for a magnificent opener. It's also only fair to give Jackett his due as we looked a really accomplished side. Ikeme (6) - Great to see him back. Dodgy moment in the first half but we protected him so well that he had very little to do. Came off his line a couple of times to good effect, which is something he definitely has over Kuszchak. Iorfa (8) - Absolutely the right call to play him against Antonio, who was eventually moved over to the other side. Pace to burn and always assured. Batth (8) - Kept the dangerous Akpom very quiet and delivered another excellent Captain's performance. On a really good run of form at the moment. Stearman (7) - Another very steady game from our uncrowned Player of the Year. Golbourne (8) - Back to his assured, classy and composed best. Broke up play on numerous occasions and linked up well with Sako. Henry (7) - Great work-rate and classy in possession. Fully deserving of his place at the moment. Price (8) - Excellent performance. His positional sense is superb and he provided us with a great platform from which to build on. Has completely won me over in recent weeks. McDonald (9) - MOM. The Scottish Xabi Alonso absolutely bossed the midfield with an imperious display. It's no coincidence that our improvement in attacking areas has coincided with his return to form. Sako (9) - Thought he looked a little leggy in the first half after his international exertions midweek. But that second half performance was as good as anything I have seen. Turned Mancienne inside out repeatedly and did fantastically in the build-up to the penalty which he coolly converted. Afobe (8) - Quiet first half but what an opening goal. Ran fully 60 yards before calmly passing the ball into the corner of the net from just outside the box. Has the talent to be as good as he wants to be. Premier League football beckons (hopefully with us). Dicko (7) - Great work-rate as always and extremely unlucky to have one cleared off the line in the first half. If only he hadn't been injured in October/November. Subs: Edwards (6) RVLP (6) Doherty - not on long enough. Jackett (9) - Got everything spot on. The team selection we all wanted together with great tactics and spot-on substitutions. Performances like that show that we are undoubtedly heading in the right direction under him. King Kenny. Long to reign over us. Happy Easter everyone!
