Very poor from Dicko, we can do without that cheating thanks, I hope KJ has a word.
He went down easily. I'm not bothered one iota
Poor from him but we've had $$$$ decisions go against us especially with that Jones dick head so i'm not too annoyed. Hardly Robben standard just yet!
Not a dive:goodnight::goodnight:
He went down too easily IMO. We'd be livid if an opposition player had done it.
Impossible to say for definite one way or the other from where we were, but I thought at the time he seemed to go down easily and I've certainly seen harsher 'fouls' not given. The pick-up and run from the centre-line though was worth a goal in itself and with 5000-odd screaming for it in the SB, ref had no option really.
Dicko was superb
Does look a dive on the replay. Looked stonewall pen in real time mind. He was great last night, they couldn't handle our front 2.
Its about time we play other peoples game. In all honestly the tackle from there number 4 was completely reckless and i think that disbalanced dicko
I love Nouha as a player but he's a diver!
I was well placed to see it from the South Bank and I havent seen the replay yet. I thought it was more a case of him losing balance after coming together with the defender rather than a blatent dive. Just shows how hard a refs job is though the adage is if you cant see then it you cant give it. I had a better view than the ref thats for sure and I'm not 100% sure exactly what happened from my one time live view of it.
Everyone else does it.
8 games to go, do what we can go make the top 6. I can guarantee teams around us will be.
Looked stonewall from the Southbank, but goes down easy on the replay, it seems the normal thing to do in the game now, which is a shame. but when it's your own team I'm not bothered!
Wasn't sure if it was a pen live tbh, would need to see it on a replay. Although from the others it seems he made the most of the contact rather than manufacture it/dive without any.
If that is the case then whilst I'd rather we didn't we've seen plenty of times in the past where our players have stayed on their feet but been disadvantaged and nothing given, until referees give pens when players do stay on their feet following contact players will go down in the box.
You can't have it both ways, I hate diving.. do hope Kenny gives him some advice.
Hi James, is disbalanced the new unbalanced? Genuine question, not up to date with the modern dictionary.
I love Dicko but it was a dive and I didn't like it. Outside of the penalty area he stays on his feet like a man possessed which is what makes it worse in my opinion, it was blatant cheating.
I haven't seen to much moaning about divers. Don't compare it with the Sako sending off.
I think there was actually contact, but he did go down very easily.
He has been clattered more than once this season in games I've seen where a penalty wasn't given and I don't care how soft last nights was it won us the points and I have no issues what so ever with that.
Contact was made , he went down , its a penalty regardless of how soft it was.
Kenny's said Dicko would be more inclined to try & score himself as he's not the penalty taker
It's the modern game. You have to cheat to complete. He went down too easily. in fact I thought the referee had blown to book him for diving at first.
He's already suffered that fate when it was a more stonewall penalty IIRC
Not bothered - two reds already rescinded this season which have cost us points. Sheffield were physical and that's what happens when you keep clogging.
Reckless? I don't think so .Risky if he didn't get the ball but far from reckless .
A nice response to cover up probably what he thought was a dive as well!
The defender put himself into the position where a dive can look like a foul.
If he wasn't so reckless in the first place Dicko wouldn't have a chance to dive.
Massive difference between this gamesmanship and nonsense where there is no contact at all or the Forestieri's of this world.
I've watched it again and again (as posted on SW website) and I'm not 100%sure. I think the SW player catches him and knocks him off balance, but he may have made the most of it. When is a dive not a dive?
Can't believe some of the stuff I'm reading on this thread after last weeks outrage? It was a dive and it was cheating and needs to be stamped out both with other teams and yes also our own.
The defenders reaction tells you everything - there was contact.
Two terrible comments IMO
To be fair Jonzy, from my position it 'looked' as if one of their players lunged in two footed just before the penalty was given - don't know if that was what JH89 was referring to and haven't seen any replays yet. It looked dangerous but not sure how close the 'tackle' was to Dicko.
The penalty looked 'soft', but will gratefully accept it !
Yep, the first challenge was far worse, but luckily was nowhere near Dicko, however it may have swayed the ref's mind in giving the penalty, that they were trying to stop him by any means.
From the family enclosure it didn't look like a penalty (I haven't seen a replay).
I have frozen it and he placed his one foot at the same time as Dicko and because Dicko was off balance he went over.
It wasn't reckless but clumsy and risky if you don't get the ball.At pace it looks more of a penalty than not but on balance in my view I don't think it was and would have been annoyed if it was against us.
Looked that way to me see re the player lunging in - even though there was no contact, this was basically just good fortune & looked like a straight red to me.
Re the pen, didn't looked like there was contact in real time & I haven't had the benefit of seeing any replays yet.
I don't mind players making the most of such incidents when there is something there to make the most of - unfortunately it's part of the modern game and, despite what the refs may say, you tend not to get the decisions otherwise. However, no place in our team for outright diving.
Do you think that Dicko dived...
Certainly not the first time he's gone to ground too easy. There is no way that's a penalty. Really, really soft. He should man up and remove this embarrassing part of his game.
Just watched it online. There might just have been contact with the defenders left knee as they came together, but blind side of the camera view. Would also be hidden from referee's view, as well so a bit of a guess on his part.
My own feeling is that Dicko tends to have games where he goes down easily, and games where he stays on his feet when he is fouled. I find it a bot of strange one. Last night seemed to be one where he was staying on his feet, so maybe there was contact . . .
or maybe the difference was that this challenge was in the area
I don't like cheating full stop and feel the game is a worse one for it. And it riles me further when some people, often those within the game itself, just brush it off as "Part of the game".
It shouldn't be part of the game and needs addressing to stop it but until such time as it is then it will sadly continue.
That said I will just add this. If a player is in the penalty area and gets a nudge, push, shove, tap, call it whatever you will, if the offending player hasn't got the ball then is the player offended against cheating or just taking advantage of the defenders clumsiness?
For me the blatant cheating is when a player isn't even touched and goes down from which a penalty is awarded or the actions of Foresteri.
If Dicko was caught last night and it was a foul then penalty. As to whether he went to ground too easy or not only he knows and it is he who has to live with what he has done if it was done deliberately.
Seen it several times and I still can't tell if he dived or not. Soft.
