Leaving BRENTFORD at the end of the season. No doubt Mourinho is lined up
There is a thread on here somewhere mate regarding Warburton. Only a couple of days old.
Really really surprised at that. I don't particularly like Warburton but he has done a great job there.
He wont be short of job offers, that is for sure.
I wouldn't mind him here as Director of football.
Had no idea but does it matter?I don't tend to trawl through reams and reams of posts to be fair.If someone wants to move it so be it.
I'd walk over hot coals to trade Thelwell in for him.
I wouldn't mind him here as manager.
AFTER Kenny Jackett has left, for whatever reason - before somebody jumps the gun
Anybody but Thelwell gets my vote.
In all seriousness though he's done a great job there in terms of getting them promoted, making some very intelligent signings and then continuing their good form this season. Looks like Brentford's success may have gone to their head, hope they reap what they sow.
Comes across as bit of a knob but have to admit he's gone a great job there.
Wasn't there something to do with the owner wanted him to get players in and Warburton didn't want to upset the group?
I'm not sure I'd stick around if I'd been told this.
"Ok then. See how you do without me." Would be my attitude.
I don't know appears quite driven to succeed and hates losing.Won't be out of a job long.
They will be taking a 'mathematical' approach to player recruitment.
Also the Assistant Manager and Sporting Director leaving with him at the same time , whole thing seems strange and doubt it will sit well with players and fans.
Clearly a good manager, I still think he's a complete $$$$ though whenever I see him interviewed.
There is every chance this is based on the fact I know he used to work in the City as a trader and can easily see him working in that pretty nasty industry that I have acquaintances in...
Nothing like judging a book by it's cover, eh!
I'll be having a few quid on them to go down next season.
Hasn't he just continued doing what Use Rosler had already started?
Much like Roberto Martinez did at Swansea after Kenny left
A magnanimous-less $$$$$! I would crawl over hot coals.....to boot him in the knackers!
Strange goings on though.
Madness. Again football's owners amaze me.
Brentford is a club run by a professional gambler and sponsored by the local minicab office. Their next manager will be a dud, I'm sure of it.
Rosler failed two or three times and given his record at Wigan I think MW deserves a lot of credit. Apparently the owner wants a foreign model - can see that working about as well as the SS experiment. A case of an owner that has just learnt to walk wanting to run a marathon.
I dislike Brentford and their arrogant fans but that has to be the most bizarre sacking of all time. Shocking, how are these people allowed to run a club?
poor taste comparing the goings on at a football club with The Holocaust. Careful , there are some sensitive souls on here tonight.
Apologies for any offence, I know mere mention of the Stale years upsets many!
The reactions on here and elsewhere are exactly the same as when Adkins was sacked by Southampton. Their board was damned as clueless when they appointed a foreigner most people had never heard of. That now looks like a masterstroke. So you can never tell and nobody really knows what the background is.
The surprising thing is the man they are linked with. Paco Jemez is routinely considered for top jobs in Spain - in fact he received more than a passing mention to be the next coach of Barcelona before they gave it to Luis Enrique. How he has suddenly become favourite to take over at Brentford I cannot imagine.
If nothing else the timing is strange as it is unlikely to have anything but a negative effect on the rest of the season. The new man may be the next Sir Alex but it's odds against!
money money money.PERHAPS.
Rosler back in has to be a decent shout, despite his Wigan debacle.
What both of them?
Combination of him not wanting to sign foreign players presented to him that he hadn't personally seen and the fact he had expressed an interest in the Norwich job a few weeks back.
The Brentford Chairman feels that they will never have a better chance of making the Premier League so wanted to push the boat out. Warburton apparently felt these signings that he hadn't endorsed could compromise the current set-up and squad dynamic.
From what I've heard, Jémez is a "character" to say the least.
Yeah, reckon you could be right...premier league's whipping boys perhaps...
He might be a $$$$ but im glad with have Morgan at times
Couldn't have happened to a nicer man! Horrible bloke deserves everything he gets. Would hate to have him anywhere near Molineux in any capacity.
Can't stand the bloke - but I must admit, his sliced bread and wholemeal baps are great and much better than Hovis
Some interesting reading on the Brentford 'model'.
Will be interesting to see how it works.
So something like......say you are a lot of conceding goals from set pieces, instead of scouting a player you just log onto your database & see Clint Hill has won 93% of his aerial battles in the box from 28 games this season compared to 83% & 85% of your current partnership so you sign him, assuming his other stats add up
